Hi guys just grabbed a note, was on GB stock, tried the *# code and says its fully sim unlocked, so tried a virgin vodafone sim in it and it says no sim card, try orange and o2 and it reads them and connects to the network, cant get it to read any micro sim either, any ideas???
Just popped into my local service centre as its round the corner and they are baffled.

if its still on GB, try a full factory reset under settings, or stock recovery and re try the sims,
If it fails to read any other than o2 and Orange send it back, and get a replacement, Unless you are of course on o2 or Orange
Tried that last night, went out and bought one of each network sims lol, its at the service centre atm had it checked its not blacklisted, its still under warranty just peed off lol, how it will recognise 2 sims but no others, and nah im on vjrgin mobile lol

how long have you had this Note ? if you've only just got it, then who ever you purchased it from should replace or repair it !
if you've had it a while, its up to you to prove you haven't caused the damage.
Traded it for my s3 on sunday stepdad only got it on upgrade week ago

Hi!
I fairly recently bought a secondhand Droid 4 from overseas. It worked fine on Australia's Optus network up until a few days ago, when it threw a No SIM error. The SIM also didn't work in my little spare phone, so I went to the store to swap it. The Droid 4 still showed No SIM with that one too, the store technician couldn't get it to read after I took it out.
I tried it with another spare Optus SIM, it also damaged that one too.
Phone appears to work fine on wifi, it worked before it damaged the first SIM. Any suggestions on a hopefully cheap repair for it?
Thanks in advance.
hello, i bought a code yesterday, but i have just received it...
The problem i have is.... the first time i inserted the sim, it asked for the code... but i did not have it... but now it doesnt show the code box when i put the sim on....
I have tried #073887*, but it only says i have no network service.... instead of just sending me the code box...
anyone? help please T-T
Simple
1 backup your rom
2 Go stock using RSDlite
3 Change sim and unlock
4 Root device
5 Flash cwm
6 Restore back up

One other thing is that the Atrix HD seems a bit more sensitive in terms of connection to older sims. For me, I had to get a new sim from my carrier. It could not get a reliable connection to the old sim I had.
Hi Guys...
2 days ago i woke up and found that my phone had no signal. I thought that Rogers (my carrier) was screwing around or something. So i just restarted my device. Nothing.
I checked *#*#4636#*#* and my radio was on (toggled it on and off and on again) and the correct network types were selected (GMS/LTE/CDMA etc. I checked in the settings menu and the correct network types were selected again. Lastly APN settings were all entered for MMS, Data, LTE, etc.
I try to search for the network and it shows Rogers, Telus and Bell. I try to connect to Rogers and i get a message saying that "Your SIM card does not allow this type of connection".
I luckily had a backup from the day previous which i restored. No go there. I did a full clean wipe and install of Viper One RC2 and then a random AOSP-based ROM, again nothing.
the weird thing is that in the Phone Information menu the device reads my phone number and IMEI easiy, so its not like the phone isn't reading the SIM card...
Has anyone encountered this problem or have any suggestions? I have seen this error happen with other devices when i Googled it and searched XDA, but no solution or resolution, and definitely nothing specific to the HTC One.
Did you buy the phone new or used? I've seen this happen to people who bought used phones on ebay. There's a scam going in which the seller will wait a month to get outside the return period and then report it stolen. They get the $$$ and a new phone, and you're screwed.
If you bought it new, your sim card might be damaged.
I wish it was a SIM card issue, but it's not. I tried the same SIM in my Nexus 4 and it works just fine. My sister has an iPhone 4S, I swapped the SIM from it and it didn't work either.
The device itself is a Telus device unlocked that I bought locally brand new from a seller off of kijiji. The device was completely untouched and wrapped in all the right ways. I bought it back in June I think.

It may have been a brand new phone that the seller bought and immediately put up for sale.
You need to talk to Telus to see if the IMEI has been reported stolen.
So the device is definitely blacklisted in Canada...Rogers is saying it's Telus that blacklisted it. Telus is saying they never had the device in their inventory (IMEI doesn't show in their database), so it isn't their device and they didn't blacklisted it. Bell said they had in their database and its a deactivated IMEI, so...I'll be taking a trip to several corporate stores to get this sorted today.

So I bought a new galaxy note 3 SM-N900W8 from some guy I met of of kijiji/Craigslist. It was sealed and brand new. Now I put my rogers Sim in it an it worked. He told me it was an upgrade from the carrier. It isn't stolen or anything and I even check the imei with samsung amd also with Rogers.
So the phone was working for about week and than all of a sudden the network was not recognized anymore amd now I cannot connect to the Rogers network.
I have not rooted the phone and I have not done anything else. The APN setting are all set up properly and also the phone says cannot connect try again later when I try to connect with the Rogers Network.
I called samsung and they said the phone is the international one but I highly doubt it because the guy sounded like he didn't know much. How could it suddenly stop working on the network out of no where?
Also I called back again and the women said maybe the SIM tray was messed up. I tried putting my brothers microsim in it but again it did not recognize. Tried my Sim on his phone and it worked so its not the Sim card itself. Has anyone else seen this happen ever?
Thanks again in advance!

So, I bought a refurbished note 4 because it's basically a great mid-ranged device for 2017-2018 (bought it for 190USD). Now, I checked the IMEI via About Phone on the phone itself and it clears out with the TMobile IMEI checker, and TMobile representatives. Now, before getting to the issue, Metro rides on Tmobile's network so, you don't have to unlock TMobile devices just to jump on Metro.
Finally, here's the issue:
I tried to activate/change my device over the phone and gave the guy my IMEI to try to activate the Note 4. After a few moments of silence, the guy pops back in and says, "I can't activate your device, your device blocked."
My 2 questions:
How is my sim/device blocked when the IMEI is definitely clean?!
How do I remedy this issue?

Did he tell you why it's blocked?
Edit
The guy told me it was network locked and told me that even though MetroPCS utilizes their towers, (TMO) the phone still had to be unlocked. However, I went to my local MetroPCS store yesterday and got it activated. Apparently the guy over the phone didn't know what he was doing and just made up some excuse.

These reps are morons! And he was probably trying to get you buy a new phone for commission or just plain idiot!
I use to do tech help for at&t. And most of the regular customer service reps don't actually know about phones. They are trained to use the pc software and read scripts. So go figure!
Glad you got it worked out!

I've heard of that before. I could do a better job that them, but it seems that being unethical is the way to go in these positions.

^^ I'm on a custom rom that changes the device model to the S7 model number. Weird lol.
