You know, it would be different issue if it didn't saw any WiFi, but no, it's just not detecting my own network which I use for submitting this message (also WiFi) with laptop...
I can go out and connect through WiFi hotspots, but here at home, it won't even list it...
Any idea on this issue, beside that, this is my first custom ROM and everything else seems to run just fine...
Maybe your wifi using channel 13 or 14 and some of these channels are forbidden in some countries, and since cm 7.2 is a multicountry rom maybe the developers of cm left out the support from the rom for these channels
You could try to change your router's wifi settings. Change the wifi channel to 6 or 8.
You can enlarge the wifi channel range on your phone as well, bit i dont know how.
EDIT: This wikipedia page explains more correctly what I am talking about

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone have had issues with the phone not showing any wifi 5ghz bands?
My phone is not showing or connecting to these networks and am just wondering why? I've tryed changing the auto to 5 no luck, I've wiped the device, rebooting and have tryied chaing the channels with no luck.
My device is running ARHD22 which is 4.3 and my router is a cisco EA4500. Annoying thing is that the iPhones and laptops are picking it up. I've even changed the SID for this band to check if I could see it but the phone will only show and connect to the 2.4ghz band.
Thanks

HTC One Dual-SIM 5Ghz WiFi Problems
Hello,
I'm having the same issue - brand new HTC One Dual SIM running Android 4.2.2.
Will display and connect to all 2.4Ghz networks perfectly, but anything 5Ghz it won't even detect, or connect if I add them manually to the saved settings list - tried it with all the 8 APs at work and my two Ubiquiti UniFi APs (Pro & Outdoor 5G) at home and no luck.
Being a work phone they've said we've got to send it back to the supplier rather than to HTC, but this is the second phone I've had with exactly the same problem.
Called up HTC and after about an hour of troubleshooting everything involved until they believed me, they said there wasn't anything they could think of - but it's a little weird for two to have the same problem right out of the box!
Apart from hard reset, wipe cache partition and safe mode - anything else anyone can suggest could fix it?
Regards,

Sorry, yes ARHD 53 isn't compatible with dual-SIM. But my Single SIM even on stock unrooted could easily pick up 5GHz bands

ARHD 53.0 is not compatible with Dual-SIM HTC One M7
Just an update on the issue if anyone is having the same problems.
We had our 4th Dual SIM handset delivered today (from a completely different supplier and production batch) which still had the same issue, unable to locate 5Ghz networks and unable to even attempt to connect to them.
We also noticed during debugging that if you switch to 5Ghz only in the menu and go back, it'll be unable to find any networks, but if you then turn the WiFi off and on again, it'll then show you a random selection of 2.4Ghz networks, even though the radio should be in 5Ghz only mode.
Because these are company owned devices to be used as work phones, we can't use custom ROMs.
I've been on the phone with HTC a lot today and after finding the support desk were no help, the comany I work for got me in touch with the Corporate Sales Manager over there and we had a conference call with their tech team.
They said it appears to be a software fault affecting all handsets of this model, but are unable to confirm if it is with all 5Ghz access points (we've only tested with Ubiquiti and Apple APs) as they seem to think it works for them in the lab.
We are getting shipped two debug handsets on Monday, one running 4.2.2 they have tested in their lab and one with the latest official 4.4 ROM that they said is due for release next week, to test before release to see if it resolves the issue.
Will post the results hopefully on Tuesday.

i know this is probably not the case, but just in case: http://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.com/2014/02/how-to-fix-wi-fi-htc-one.html
try with 5 characters or less.
Thanks for the reply nkk71.
Doing that along with renaming the Bluetooth too then rebooting the device was one of their debugging steps on the phone earlier, but still no joy .. Appreciate the suggestion though!

how about changing channel number?
Yes they suggested it could be something to do with the channel, but so far we've tested:
Indoor at work (Ubiquiti UniFi Pro): 140
Indoor at home (Ubiquiti UniFi Pro): 136
Outdoor at home (Ubiquiti UniFi Outdoor 5G): 128
Test Network at Home (Apple AirPort Extreme): 100
Which according to goo.gl/azMC91 are all in Band B of the 5Ghz spectrum and require DFS compliance.
But the strange thing being, my personal HTC One X connects to all the networks perfectly fine - and in the case of the work APs, we've got ~40 other devices connected on 5Ghz as we use it exclusively, half of those being Android phones, so I guess if it doesn't support those channels, that's kind of a bug in itself?

How about non-dual-sim HTCs?
PS: i'm just throwing ideas out.... nothing concrete !! (otherwise i would have said so)
That's ok, help greatly appreciated.
Like I said, my One X works great on those networks - as for a more similar matched HTC One (non-dual-sim), I know our Directors all had them when they first came out and they definitely worked as we've been using 5Ghz exclusively on those APs for some time now and I'd have had a lot of ear ache if they didn't, but I haven't seen them using them in a long time and they could possibly have been pre-release handsets given as gifts if that could make any difference, so couldn't confirm for the latest firmware updates / model revisions.. I'll have to see if our returns department has one I can borrow on Monday to test and confirm.
I'm hoping it is just a software thing and the 4.4 ROM they're shipping us to test next week will fix, as I read a few posts that the HTC One did originally have a few problems with 5Ghz when that was on 4.2.2, fixed by an upgrade to 4.3 which obviously never made it to the Dual SIM.. It was a little hard to tell from the post descriptions if the problem was indeed the same or not.
Hello,
We've been having internet troubles so I couldn't post the update on Monday, but good news.
Got in on Monday to a message from HTC - they decided over the weekend that rather than shipping me the debug phones to test, they had released the 4.4 OTA update that morning to everybody with a Dual-SIM handset and to just try updating it.
I asked them if they could test it their end before shipping the handsets out to me, so I can only assume they realised it was a problem - or they were just ready with the update - who am I to speculate.
Installed the update and the 5Ghz WiFi now works perfectly - shows up in the list and connects as expected with speeds that are stunning!
Seeing as all phones still come with 4.2.2 out of the box, you'll either need working 2.4Ghz WiFi to download the update (which was hard for us) or support did send me a link to a Windows based updater program to update the phone via USB. They said I'm not allowed to share, but I guess they'd provide it if you called up and asked for it.
You say your phone connects on the 5GHz network, but have you seen if it's connecting on the 802.11N or the 802.11AC network?
My ONE will connect on the N network on 5GHz, but not the AC network.
I've tried Auto channel selection and manually assigning channels, still no go with the AC network.

I found that on the ac network the htc one m8 will only connect when signal is broadcast on channels 32 26 or 40.
Try it out and see if you have any success
Figured I'd give a heads-up on this, since this issue doesn't seem to be well-known, and it bit me.
When I got my Nexus 5 and was initially setting it up, it connected to my 5Ghz home network, and let me know an update was available. This was the initial update described here.
Bizarrely, after the update downloaded and installed, my Nexus 5 couldn't see my home WiFI network anymore. It turns out that the update had disabled support for some WiFi bands in the 5Ghz range!
There's a bit more discussion of this here in the Q&A forum.
It seems like the bands that work are (there may be more, but these are confirmed): 34, 40, 44, 48, 149, 161.
Given that my experience clearly demonstrates that the Nexus 5's hardware is capable of supporting more 5Ghz bands than it currently does. Hopefully, in the future either Google or ROM developers here can enable them again.

You dont happen to have a apple router? Co-worker had the same issue on two nexus 5. Before the update he was able to connect to his 5Ghz channel. He is not able to even see his SSID (5GHz) He stated that he has no issue on his Nexus 7 running 4.4.

I don't, I have a Linksys router running Tomato. I bet your co-worker's Apple router's only issue is that he was using one of the 5Ghz bands that the update disabled for whatever reason.
I regularly setup wifi networks that use all 21 5GHz channels and I need to tune them for phone antennas. I've been trying to find a way to make my Nexus 6 use all the available 5GHz channels but so far I haven't found anything. It currently supports the UNII-1 and UNII-3 bands as well as the ISM channel but the UNII-2 and UNII-2E bands aren't visible to the device. As far as I can tell it isn't a limitation of the hardware but a software choice made by Google because scanning all 21 channels uses up too much battery.
So anyone know how to force the Nexus 6 to see the entire 5GHz band?
I'd be interested in this info also.

Anone found anything out on this. Google support and Motorola T3 don't even know what channels it should see. I'm baffled and have a phone replacement arriving tomorrow
The best I've found in some really deep support forums is that the hardware "technically" supports it but the hit to battery life when scanning all 21 5GHz channels isn't acceptable. That's why they've disabled it in base android. Someone would have to custom write a driver and it probably would hit battery life in an unacceptable way.
They finally enabled all 5GHz WiFi channels in the latest driver.
You can get it with this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nex...ernel-leankernel-minimalistic-kernel-t2954316
I'm not sure if this is a networking issue or phone issue, but I think I got this narrowed down to a phone issue.
I currently have a 105mbps plan through Comcast and all is working well except my Nexus 6 WiFi SpeedTest maxes out at around 20-22mbps.
Currently routing with a WRT1200AC Router with both 2.4 and 5ghz bands enabled.
I am aware the Nexus 6 supports 802.11ac; therefore I connected to my 5ghz band network. The nexus shows i'm getting a solid 360mbps connection to the router. However when doing a SpeedTest it caps at 20-22mbps (I should be getting around 105mbps). I suspect no issue with the router as I tested with a 802.11ac supported laptop and was screaming past my 105mbps speed. Based off some google searches I found that possible causes were maybe some power saving features, those have been turned off.
Troubleshooting I have done:
- Moved my 5ghz band to different channels
- Tried different 5ghz channel widths
- Tested speed on 2.4ghz band (Same Results)
- Tested Another Nexus 6 (I tried running a speedtest with a family members N6 running pure stock rom/unrooted and same results as with my Custom Rom'd N6)
- Disabled Carrier Radio leaving only wifi on.
- Reboot Phone, Router, toggled wifi Off and on.
Any other suggestions? It would be pretty disappointing of Google / Motorola if this was the result of hardware capabilities.
