Yes its support just dl nstools.
Mackay kernel supports voodoo so you really just have to open DSP Manager and head to the WM tab

I flashed this rom yesterday (after 8.0 wipe) for 2 reasons. Firstly as a path to get to v9, but also to take advantage of the voodoo sound improvements. This is where im lost.. i thought it came as part of the rom, but cant find any trace of it...
how do i find / enable it???
Cheers in advance
Simon
ASK Darky i dont know what he puts in his rom one would expect Darky to be able to tell you .
Or SEARCH VOODOO SOUND
jje
Thanks for your patience.
Download Voodoo control app from market.
Its part of the kernel not the rom ;p Darky just uses a kernel that implimented it. Any froyo rom can have voodoo sound as long as you flash a kernel that implimented it.

How do you upgrade to version 9? Did you have 3d icons in launcher pro? I saw it in YouTube but mine 8.1 doesn't have it,

My current configuration has 10,000 points in quadrant.
But it'll cost you $100
Why ? Cuz #stupidity-costs
Quadrant benchmark does not says "real" scores...
Try things instead of relying on benchmarks.
A good start would be to run a recent rom (android 2.2.1 like JS5), something light if you want speed (like essential rom or doc kitchen if you want more stuff in it). About kernels some of them support OC/UV (like hardcore kernel) also ONE nand kernel are very smooth (but can be problematic if you plan to get thousands of app...).
So if you want real speed I would say Essential rom + trasig kernel (one nand).
If you want something fast and useful, go for doc kitchen rom and K13C kernel or laststufo super optimized.
Note:
Before flashing your final rom, make a clean flash with repartition using odin.
The best configuration is the one that you like best and works the best for what you want to do.
For me, that's either Doc's ROM with hardcore kernel or CM7 if I feel like it.
Thread reported, this is not dev, pointless discussion.
There is no BEST ROM

this is not a post for android development!!
quadrant doesn't mean anything deinstall it!!! if it is running smooth be happy if it lags -> ext 4 lagfix
best config for me cm7
cm7 ftw
samsung galaxy s cm7
archos a101 urukdroid
desire hd stock 2.2.1 :-(
But CM7 for Galaxy S is beta and not stable?

so what works super smooth would never go back i can live with those small bucks
why do you need a high quadrant? if it is just for your friends as a "contest" u could use some ext2 loops but it will just fake your results
cm7 ftw

Move this to Questions section, so everyone can post the version he is using as the best configuration .

Im on GingerReal but im not sure about which kernel im running. This is what it says under kernel version:
2.6.35.7.I9000XWJVH-CL184813
[email protected] #Voodoo
Sat May 14 22:49:50 CEST 2011
Can anyone tell me what kernel it is please?
The reason i want to is because i want to update to 5.2 GingerReal but it doesnt support Voodoo Sound and i want it. So which kernels support voodoo sound that i can use on GingerReal?
You're with the hacked gingerbread voodoo kernel of supercurio. That's what's used in the GingerReal ROMs. You can generally use almost any other JVO kernel for the latest version of GingerReal coz almost all of the kernels have one or another version of Voodoo sound. And all kernels support voodoo sound but not all developers implement it. You can just buy Voodoo Sound Control Plus app and you'll always have the latest version of Voodoo Sound with any kernel you use.

Thanks for the reply. I take it that all kernels apart from speedmod have voodoo control?

Various kernels have Voodoo sound built into them , they say in the features list if you want to check. Voodoo control Plus though inserts the sound module into any kernel(even stock kernels) and as you update the app you get the latest voodoo sound module
try semaphore kernel for gingerbread...it has CF-Root + voodoo sound v9 + OC/UV + BLN
I'm sure if you had looked in the gingereal thread you would of found your answer! Worth a thought

How to record a call on a new stable cyanogen mod ?
I try 3 apps, They can't
1. AutoCallRecorder - ROMAN G.
2. Call Recorder - Schass Innab
3. AndroRec Free Call Recorder - AndroGlobe Technologies
Thank you
Sorry for my english
First, So far, Android 2.3 or later didn't support the reall "record call" function, so u cannot see the record button on the interface when you calling.
So, If you want have this function, you cannot use vooodoo kernel because your friend or others will cannot hear your vioce when u actived app's record function.
So, I recommend u use speedmod kernel and "record my call" app which can be easy found in Android maket.
BTW, Android2.2 can support this function.
@michael_g:
Using Speedmod kernel compiled for SGS ROM on Cyanogenmod????
Are you aware of what you are suggesting?
Unless Hardcore has made a CM7 kernel, only flash kernel made for Cyanogenmod on Cyanogenmod.

something new about this topic?
Hi all, I am running Slim Bean Build 5 and since it uses the Semaphore kernel does it include Voodoo Sound? If so do I just need to download the app and it will run? Or is it a modified version of the kernel? I've had a lot of trouble with recording in loud environments like concerts and really need to get rid of the sound distortion.
Thanks in advance,
Nik

Here's your answer, in Captivate Development forum, in Stratosk's Semaphore Kernel thread, first post, giving the feature list.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29810380
You need to install Supercurio's Voodoo Sound app from play store.

Ah so it uses that one, there were so many versions and I couldn't find it on the slim website, I'll go install the app and hopefully be able to finally record concerts without distortion.
Thanks,
Nik
