1. Xxlsa is not a stock rom. It's a leak. 4.0.4 is a stock rom
2. If it's running xxlsa it could be root d as well. Can check by installing root checker or if super user or supersu is there.
3. Is cwm already there.?

[Q] How to flash from completely stock, non-rooted ICS?

Please forgive me if this question is one which has been asked a lot; I've searched around but I'm finding a lot of conflicting information.
Exactly how do you safely flash from stock ICS (4.0.0.4; unrooted) to a new rom (for example, I'm looking at going to a CM10 rom)?
Some guides seem to say:
1) Flash a safe kernel using ODIN (I was looking at Hydrocore)
2) Flash back to a pre-rooted gingerbread rom using ODIN (e.g http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1535025)
3) Flash the rom you're interested in using ODIN
Or perhaps I only need to do steps 1 & 3?
Thanks!
You need to do the 1st and 3rd steps.

Also once you have flashed a safe kernel you can flash the new ROM in recovery.

The stock kernel is perform very well in terms of battery performance.
And consider smooth and stable.
Tips: go pages 49 or 51 to get the modify rom ( about 768mb ). Flash it over ebyee jb rom with wipe cache and dalvik cache only. This modify rom will give almost the fix such as root explorer and restore problem thru titanium backup.
Good luck mate.

Galaxy Note not booting

Hi all,
I'm a little scared because I wanted to install a new ROM this morning.
I've done as usual by making a backup etc. .. When making a factory wipe, the phone restart and nothing since. Unable to start, impossible to put a ROM via ODIN (it stuck on <ID:0/006> factoryfs.img
<ID:0/006> NAND Write Start! )
I do not know what to do. I feel like I have no partition system. Is it possible?
Thanks for your response
what rom were you on, what kernel. how did you start the install?

I was on N7000XXLRT version. No specific Kernel wich i take here
does that mean you did not have a safe kernel?
how did you wipe?

It's possible you're bricked as you were on stock ics kernel. Flash gb rom using pc odin see how it goes and report any errors.

When i flashed via ODIN, it still blocked on NAN Write and nothing appears..

No the Note was rooted, it's sure . I brought to pass it as collateral
just wanted to know if the CWM was built in the kernel or was it a CWM.zip file. if it was the zip file, most probably the phone is bricked

Need help rooting my Note.

Hi all
I have just bought a Note with GB 2.3.6 on it. I have read the thread in android section about rooting but am confused as all hell and I can't find the section about rooting 2.3.6, I have kernel LA6.
Can someone point me in the right direction please?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
try option 3 because you have Newer Gingerbread ROM (non rootable directly)

No, not point to them. They still "offer" cwm.zip as a method to root your N7000. They never changed this (looke here).
Why do you redirect a member from XDA to another forum/blog etc?
For gb he could still use the abyss kernel, and su which is discribed step by step @ rootgalaxynote.com
I dont need a reason to post references.

[Q] Note slowed down after upgrading to Jelly Bean.

Hello guys,
I use Galaxy Note-N7000 and the issue with my device is ever since I upgraded to Jelly Bean 4.1.2,my device has slowed down,I am now starting to think its because of Note unable to handle Jelly Bean.I even tried factory resetting and re-installing Jelly bean a couple of times, but it hasnt helped.I also see RAM consumption being very high with only a few apps on my device.
What could be slowing down my device?I was told Kernels speed up our devices, will it work?If so can you guys recommend me any good kernels and steps to install them?
I would really appreciate any help, guys. Please be kind
Thank you!
That's normal. Whether use ics or higher than 4.1.2.
It will always lag.
To flash custom kernel do it via Odin or root Your phone and install kernel from cwm.
Sent from note, a phone like never before
That's stock jb for you, it sucks. If you want jb then go for cm or paranoid.

Stock samsung jb ate bloated to the max and buggy as hell. There's no fixing it, that's just how they are. Try a custom rom for better performance on jb.

Flashing through Odin shouldn't need root, just USB debugging enabled. I have never flashed anything via goo manager, but if You will get the flashable file You will be able to flash it then. And it will change the cwm.
To download kernels just go to android development section for our service and search the forum for "kernel" in the topic. Our You can also Google "kernel n7000"
