I find your post very discerning you actually think that someone is going to post every rom that is available for the vivid. There is a section called development which contains every rom that is available on xda for this phone.
Xda is not a place where you are going to be spoon fed. We expect you to do some research and read, read and read some more.
Maybe your just trolling

I'm pretty much new to the cm6 software. I know about the wifi tethering and the live wall paper, and the some wat speed but thats basically it... Is there anything else u can do with cm6???? As far as customization, added extras? good tips? or anything useful period...i havent made any changes to the rom yet...
SN: I do want to uncap my kernel but i dont know where to start a break down on how to go about it would be nice...also i downloaded a 2.1 browser and i want to install it on my cm6 is that possible?
Check under Forum - Hero CDMA Q&A

yea i researched and went on youtube 2 months before actually puttn a custom rom on my phone..besides it ewasnt a official how to guide with an alltel hero back then..i kno of alot of features to the phone..but doin these things is a whole nother ball game
.but thanks for the link and the comment..the link was alot of help besides who gonna read 5000 replies to a root feature..which is very confusing...when ppl could come in here and some it up
Guys, can we stop with the personal attacks.
Regarding this, the OP may wish to consider the use of Q&A next time, as this forum is for development.
Additionally, a read of the "XDA mantra" at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2031989&postcount=45 will explain a little about how xda started, and what is expected before posting.
As for the forum rules, please read them and stop with the childish insults and name calling.

Really true..all u guys had to say was wrong section. Even though some people are rude don't make it worse. Like I said though Q&A or the CM6 question thread.

Thread cleaned a bit.
First i would like to say that doing a search in the main HTC HERO CDMA forum which can be found on the top right of the page will help you out tremendously.
As for kernels, Here is a link to all the kernels that Decad3nce has done. You can read through and test them out.
A lot of people are using the #14 kernel which can be downloaded at this link
CM6 #14 kernel
As for customizing, either go to the themes and development forums and you will find themes and themed ROM's. There is also some tweaks you can do in settings>Cyanogenmod Settings. It's more of trying out different things. What I do to my phone is my preference. Make it your own. Trial and Error..

No problem. People forget that they were once a noob and instead of pointing out what you should do and answering the question, they berate you.

Actually, it's more "us nerdy people" don't like being insulted, and it's irritating to see someone say "oh, I'm not going to read through that because I'm lazy and it's easier if I just ask my question instead".
Yea i understand what your saying but I wasn't tryin to be lazy..i did alot of research and i knew alot about how it worked and operated and the cool features..not the neccesary steps. i have a alltel hero and i was doing the sprint way but quickly notice it wasnt working so i googled alltel hero came to this site and the alltel rom root was still in the works. However I still did research, also tried the forums way it was a tad misleading..so soon after i found a site with 8 simple steps that answered all my questions. So to say jus read is not helping as much being point in the right direction..So I greatly appreciate the people above who helped and pointed me in the right direction. And those with unneccsary side comments, just don't post..It's simple..
Has anyone else noticed there aren't any downloadable ROMs when you click Download ROM under the Rom Management section in the Rom Manager Premium v3.0.07. Yes, it lists Fresh(flipz), DamageControl(damageless) and CrunchySoft(crunchybutternut), but no matter which one you select, the response back is "Error occurred while downloading the ROM list! Please contact the developer of this ROM." The only thing I can summize from this is these 3 developers have moved on to greener pastures for ROM developement. In any case, I raise my pint of Guinness to flipz, damageless and crunchybutternut as well as to all the ROM developers here at xda for their contributions. BTW, I work for corporate Sprint as a Sprint Product Ambassador and now tote the HTC EVO Shift 4G and am looking forward to what incredible ROM mods are forth coming!
Has anyone noticed... we have another of those "I don't care, because I can't read" types here...
Dude... not the right forum. No wonder you are working for Sprint... .
Moderators, I do sincerely apologize for my posting of the thread in the incorrect forum. Would you please move the thread to the correct forum as I don't want to end up walking funny because of it. LOL! TIA moderators.
I'll jump in to say that those ROMs are dead for the HeroC. So dead, that even the bugs that ate their corpses have bugs eating their corpses.

The HeroC is pretty much dead ever since Sprint stopped supporting it.
Would someone care to reference the difference between all the roms? JVS etc every week that I come on here I have to search what the new rom letters mean. Maybe you can make a sticky making it easier for everyone?
This thread is not going to end well.
I don't really care, they sticky everything so why not what roms are for our phones and what ones are ported. Also what order the came out in. Im done with the captivate this weekend anyway, its only a suggestion.
First, id say what your looking for is already clearly available. 2nd, id say this should be in the development section.

Look here, thanks and credit to sammobile.com----
http://www.sammobile.com/threads/36-Samsung-Letter-Code. This is good with i897, but I'm still not sure about the i9000 rom lettering system, i.e JVT = ??
You may have to register and login to see this, not sure though. Hope it helps anyway.

I'll get straight to the point....
Despite stickys and forum announcements most of us are still finding ourselves becoming terribly, terribly vexed at the amount of [Q]'s cluttering the dev section...
Therefore, from now on, if you do not follow the rules outlined below, you will be infracted. Break them again and you may find yourself unable to post anything at all on any forum!!
If you cannot read and abide by the simple rules in this sticky then I dont know how you're going to manage to hack your device without running into trouble.
The Dev section is NOT for asking questions.....
The Dev section is NOT for general topics..........
All threads posted MUST be prefixed with a description of the thread, [ROM] / [Kernel] etc etc.....*
*(Not planning on being particuarly strict on this. You guys (the devs), know how to title a thread.... just a pointer for new devs.)
Basically, unless your thread is to actually release something or discuss something of a very technical and n00b unfriendly nature, it doesnt belong here!
Pretty simple really.....
If you see something that shouldnt be here then PM me....
I will try to check in as reguarly as I can but I have a few sections to keep an eye on and believe it or not, a life outside XDA
Yes thats right, there is life outside XDA

And I answered his question the way I could to try to help a little.
And I knew this thread would eventually get moved.
PM'd conantroutman to request the move just in case no one else has.

you mean this SHOULDN'T be in the development section.
How long might it take before we see a wiki for the Vivid? I do not typically post to forums and therefore have little navagation knowledge of them. For me the easiest way to find a ROM or update was to visit the wiki page first. I dont really need someone to teach me how to navigate this forum, I will figure it out eventually.

My signature is a good start for info. Also look in the general knowledge sticky at the top of this section. Look in the development section for roms and kernels, they are clearly identified.

I understand how to identify a ROM in the dev section. That isn't my concern. I suppose I am just used to the htc evo dev section that has a wiki that is updated by the devs. I know it's early for the vivid but I just rooted it, thank you slapshot for the superguide, and am getting antsy for more rom options. The wiki makes it really easy to make sure I am not missing a killer rom that is hidden on page 742 of the dev forum. Now obviously it has lost it's popularity if that were the case, I get that, but at least I still have that rom as an option. Know what I mean Vern?
Gotcha. Well until we get more roms, we don't really need a wiki. For our device right now, anything current is on the first page of the dev section. There aren't going to be any hidden roms. Heck, I don't think we have any more than 5 at the moment. I can see a need for a wiki with your old phone though, as it had a ton of action.

I don't think any of the CM team even own this phone so it'd probably not happen since the phone is approaching the 1 year mark and it's already EOL.
still sucks cause is not as bad as people say. I just wish there was way more support for it. Btw i will post there too see if we can get something going

Questions or Problems Should Not Be Posted in the Development Forum
Please Post in the Correct Forums & Read the Forum Rules
Moving to General
I doubt it will get CM9 because this phone just doesn't get much support to begin with.
Well. We need as many reply on those forums as we can. So if you have a revo post there. Maybe we can get some traction there

PG should have it for the esteem one day and then it could be ported.
