Hi everybody.
If we share our benchmark results with the specifications of our Inc S, that would help each others to find best ROM and kernel combinations.
Please, attach your AnTuTu Benchmark (it is available on Google Play Store and free) results by taking a screenshot and state your ROM, kernel, whether S-OFF, rooted or not consecutively. I will take the lead.
ROM: _Lacoste_CM10_NEWv4
Kernel: 3.0.58-lc-4.5+
S-OFF, rooted device
Total score: 6053
CPU: 1982
GPU: 2516
RAM: 957
I/O: 598
1516 MHz
Was running Viper Rom lol.
i had to clock so much higher than you just to get similar results :S
i even have a class 10 sd card now.
Also, what IO scheduler are you running? and what SD card you got?

My scores SUCK! BIG TIME!!
I am on stock ICS 4.0.4 with Sense 3.6 - non-rooted S-On . The results are:
Total score: 3267
CPU: 891
GPU: 1483
RAM: 642
I/O: 251
1024 MHz (480x800)
Umm, a noob question - how to do I get the scores up to yours also do these scores actually translate into better perceived performance? Hoping for a good discussion on this point.
Can anybody else please post their results - especially those on stock HTC ROMs.

You can't do much on the stock rom to get your scores up.....
and usually a higher score means better performance

Thanks for the reply Spazzy. I am waiting on final official word from HTC whether they will be updating the Incredible S to JB or not. Depending on that, I will root and go in for a custom ROM. Till then I will keep waiting for our wonderful devs here to keep churning out better ROMs.

There is no way that our phone will be updated to official jellybean. the sensation, velocity etc other last gen high end devices won't be, so there is no hope for our midranged phone.
HTC has been known to be bad on delivering updates, the desire HD didn't even get an official ICS and our phone ONLY just got ICS when jellybean was about to come out.

Nexus 5 should be getting around 33000 or so like the G2 (pretty much identical except for screen and aesthetics). Probably poor optimizations for Nexus devices.
I can only get 29000 but what do I care for benchmarks As long as the phone works fast, its fine for me

Hey All,
I'm running Mid note v2.0 (ICS based ROM) and have CPUspy installed and it tells me that my highest clock speed is 1.2GHz. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't our N7000 notes supposed to be 1.4GHz?
I understand that ICS kernels can't be over locked at this stage but shouldn't my note be running at 1.4GHz when necessary?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

1) Its a leak for a different device.
2) The kernel controls the speed the device is allowed to run
Once sources are available, things will change.
But if you had searched and read a bit, you would have known this already...
Thank you for your response. I actually did research for this information and described what i did find but I thought I'd ask the question since this is the Q&A section of the N7000/i9220's since I couldn't find the exact answer I was seeking.
I do understand what a kernel does as I "read" up on it and I do know that the ICS leaks are from the i9220 as I "read" that too.
So please keep your sarcasm to yourself as I was merely just asking the community for insight on this matter but if you had "read" my question you'd already know that.

only locked because of the kernel, once the sources are available it will then be able to run at full speed

no its 1.2 aswell, its the KERNEL not the rom and until, oh i give up trying to explain, go search
The kernel is from China leak so it is 1.2ghz.unless kernel developer of xda here provide new custom kernel which with custom CPU scaling.

Hi. If the same thread is already exists, please forgive me. Been trying to find similar thread for about 3-4 pages here, but none found.
If no, well, can anyone here suggest the best kernel for ICS based ROM for our IncS in term of performance and battery life. Thanks in advance.
XS-ICS.
What's the benefit of this kernel over another? I am sorry I am also new to this. If you can just provide some high level overview

Hi. From my point of view, each kernel has it's own advantages and disadvantages in terms of performance, battery life and etc. For custom kernel like X2 ICS (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1851121), you can overclock your IncS to higher CPU speed but PLEASE bare in mind, even though our device is the same, but that doesn't mean the optimized value to overclock is the same. My suggestion, please look carefully for pro n cons for each kernel in the forum because some kernel is not supported for certain ROMs. For me, I just flashed ICS Sense G11 v2.0.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1887379) and it went smoothly with my Android Revolution HD 3.01 ROM.
I have used a couple of custom ICS ROMs (Nik's and IceCold) and I find that the following gives the best choice of governors, clocking variability and battery life.
Choosing the right governor and clock speed will of course impact on your performance.
Also recommend XS ICS 2.2... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1851121

Try using trickstermod (in themes and apps of incs)
Trying as many roms as I can get my hands on, looking for best 3d gaming speed and an acceptable UI ...
What is a good program for benchmarking? I know a lot of apps aren't supposed to be a reliable way to see how a rom will perform under actual gaming conditions so I was hoping to get your recommendations ...
Which app have you used for benchmarking and was it worthwhile?
i dont know any app to benchmark 3d performance specifically..
i just use antutu and quadrant since they both include 3d and 2d benchmark...
I know two of em !! give it a try !!
1) GL Benchmark !! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.glbenchmark.glbenchmark25&feature=search_result
Try different benchmark tests in this app coz this app truly lets u know what ur device is capable of OR Where it stands in terms of performance !!
2) Quadrant !! https://play.google.com/store/apps/...mFzb2Z0d29ya3MucXVhZHJhbnQudWkuc3RhbmRhcmQiXQ..
Nt so good but give it a try !!
Definitely try GL Benchmark ........ itz will definitely help Btw which rom and kernel are u on ??

I go back and forth between latest jb leak and CM10 ... for CM10 I'm on an older OC Hydracore 4.something, the jb leaks I just use the kernel that comes with them. In my experience so far a stripped down CM10 based rom is the fastest thing available.

The question is why...
Overclocking the GPU does almost nothing in terms of performance... No faster in UI in my experience... And... No better in benchmark (I know they mean nothing)
It actually just drains battery IMHO...

Almost cook room has overclocking, you can set in Performance settings (with CM room) or venom tweak(if using venom room).
For me, if no using some big application, I often set max CPU freq. <1200 htz and min <384htz. I realized when set max CPU > 1250 htz, my device is getting hotter, religion battery

It actually helps with performance with no extra battery drain seen. I have ran this for a week so far and its running like a champ. I can say from personal experience before the patch I would run Maps, BT, Soundcloud, using Hangouts at the same time and would have slight lag when going through notifications. Now grant it was not that bad but more of a personal annoyance in general. Since the patch flash I have not had one single "lag" moment and I can run what I need with no ill effect. Just nan and flash and I promise you will not regret it.
OK guys. You're right. This is more than just placebo. I can definitely see a difference.

The 3d Antutu bench hits 55+ fps where before it would hit 40 so there is definately some improvement going on.
