LSZ is Not as smooth as LM5 and the chinese leak. - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys,
I just wanted to mention that i had the chinese leak and it was super smooth and lag free.
Today after I updated to LSZ and with several full wipes, it ia still lagging to me. I even tried flashing lm5 kernel on top. Didnt help much.
Do you have any solution for this? Thanks

I do not have a solution, but: you should rename your (obsolete) guide in General:
[Guide] Installation Tips for LSZ + Rooting Methods [Lag Free]
Here you are complaining about your lag and there you promise lag free - this isn't really correct.

what's the difference between LM5 and LSZ? I found no difference after some research, besides the area code.

there are more languages in LSZ i think..and a later build

[Q] Touch screen after ICS upgrading

Hello every1
I just installed Stock ICS LPD kernel ROM & root it by following the procedure provided by dr.ketan (clean installation of course) when the device up I noticed the touch response of the screen is not as good as it was on GB ROM..
I reverted back to GB ROM to make sure and then the touch response is good..
Once I upgraded again to ICS ROM the touch response was sucks for me..
I tried installing new kernel; like Speedmod k3-3 and franco r6, but no use!!!!
Any help or idea to fix this problem?????

Yeah, the stock ICS roms were a bit sluggish, not so responsive at times. But now I'm on RocketRom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1654838 )and the touch response is instant. That and zero scroll lag with the launchers (compared to GB) means I'm never going back.
thanks for response I will try and see....
Unfortunately it is the same...
Yay I'm not the only one!! And to the other poster I don't think the person gets what your saying. Ics is not slow or sluggish its fast to me. Its just the touch screen issue is horrible. I'm running gingerbread cause of this. Its an issue on the att version too

[Q] Which is best Rom and stable rom for galaxy Note

Ok im not daily Flashing guy, i need stability and longer battery life.
I have tried Darky's (too buggy for me) and Indian ICS version also getting slowing and stucking nowadays badly with bad battery life ..
Each rom size is around >600mb and that is really headache for me to download and try 5-6 roms
Normally i like to test and match rom for my personal taste but in note case i would like to take advise with existing phone users.
May you advise me which is best rom for stability and battery life?
Try this on my signature...
Almost stock look, except notification bar, stock experience, and only few safe tweaks based on latest firmware which is really good.
Im using it 2 days now without any problems...
Battery its awesome too...

thanks bro it will my next rom but call recording attract me. Plus i prefer roms in which creators try to make them more usable then existing one.
try AllianceRom.. they also have call recording.. and overall performance is best.. specially their kernal
best rom for galaxy note
Best rom from far criskelo rom. I tested all of them. Is like having galaxy s3 into a galaxy jote. Works as smooth as s3. Even better in gaming. benchmark result without overclocking on criskelo 3900-4100 without restart and without task manager cleared.

Well Just incase you are tired of flashing ROMs then come to Asylum. xD
Cleanote 4.0 w/ notecore 10.2 uni (1.6ghz)
Im using this rom/kernel for a few months, is the most fast and stable combo u can get. The developer Updates the sources everyday, the progress is awesome, u can get easy 7300-7600 with antutu's benchmark with the latest build. And with the ndxt Kernel version (10.5 i think) u can get 8100 in antutu.
Is really awesome, u should view how it change your user xp on the note

Hi all,
Can anyone post an updated answer to this thread please?
What is the best ROM for the GT-N7000 ?
Criskelo!!!!!!! i am not the custom rom guy i use stock with root access. I also prefer stability than extra usability. But criskelo is definiteky the closest to stock custim version. It is stable and u will like it.

The speed and stability depends on the Rom and Kernel combination. Free Ram also plays an important role to keep the apps running smooth.
Im not an expert but from my experience of countless flashing of Roms/Kernels, here are recommended:
1. C-Rom Bean v1.4 (w/ Mackay kernel)
2. Mackay Rom v1.2.4 or 1.2.5
These are tested very fast and smooth, no FC of apps, no lags even for using memory-intensive apps like GPS SatNav and videocam.
The above are only suggestions w/c you can choose to try or not.

Phone less laggy feels even more buttery now

Overall heavy improvement so its an important update you shouldnt miss. Dont worry you wont lose data for upgrading even via Odin.
Jb over custom ROM and Kernel
Hi thank you very much for helping me, my question is this.
S I have a modified I9070 with jet mod and its custom kernel, so my question, which Is a very noob one, is that if I install following the procedure in the android development forum, do I have to go back to stock GB or just do it over the current system....
Again thank you

I have found that my phone hangs (also lags a lot of times) a lot after upgarding to LQ4.
I have tried factory reset and cache wipe.
Are others also experiencing this?
Or is this because i restored backup of apps + system data with titanium?

To all who are facing lagging problem just follow this steps in Q4 version

Wipe cache
Root your phone
Install any suitable kernel (I an using CoCore)
In no frills CPU set configuration as PegasusQ and sio.

Basebands Reviews

I made this thread so users who tested basebands to provide some useful reviews (battery backup, performance, bloatware, etc) for every user who want to know which baseband, new or old, has what he`s looking for or the baseband just came up and it`s new and he wants to know about it.
I tested MBM-XXLQI from Macedonia recently and all I have to say it brings nothing new about battery backup on the contrary it seems worse than DDULP8 from India or XXLQG-ITV from Italy, and in addition it has a lot more bloatware too.
I am going to test the new VSLPA from Argentina(moviestar) to see what it brings new as it has the latest build date and changelist, and I`ll provide a review in a day or two. You are free to do the same as we may have different opinions.
I am using VSLPA from Argentina from 1 day now and I have to say it provides the best battery backup till now, only 1% consumed over the night.
About performance, it`s pretty much like the other firmwares, tough i notice that lag is slightly reduced in this one or it may be placebo effect, don`t know yet.
Go try it yourself and report back to see if you have a different opinion from mine
I take my words back VSLPA is the best build by samsung for our device since they released Jb for us. I rooted, flashed cocore8.2, removed some bloats, instaled no-frills, set pegasusq+sio, powersave and I drained the battery till it shut down. After I let it charge full I powered it up and I couldnt believe my eyes how fast it was and still is, this build is LAG FREE, the dial pad opens in instant just like cyanogenmod. At first I tought that maybe it's just an one time event but not it still does that and is insanely fast, stable, smooth maybe then most of custom too (no offense to any dev). I know it is hard to believe but please try it for yourself and you'll be surprised.
I'll provide the list of bloats removed when I have time if it is of any use

This is as if you were explaining you saw a ghost.
Are you sure about this? Cause I heard similar things for previous FWs before, even though they all lagged like hell.
And 7 hours ago you were saying the opposite, how's that possible? What exactly fixed it, when it was the same when you first tried it?
Anyways I'm on GB now, got burned once and now I want to be sure if it's really lag free before I upgrade.

If your device is network free(meaning that another carrier sym is working) you can flash any firmware you want for our device with odin. Juat download it from samsung-updates, unrar it, put the tar file in pda section of odin and hi start.

First of all GB and JB are different in every aspect so you can`t compare one to the other. First time it was just after I flashed it then I did all the things I said ( root, flash cocore kernel, changed governors and I/O etc. ) and after that i used it till it shut down and then while it was turned off I let it full charge, after that i booted into recovery wiped cache and dalvik cache and reboot and that was all.
But you should never expect that JB to be like GB.
If you don`t like stock i suggest you to upgrade from gb to jb then flash CM 10.1 from Team Canjica or if you want stock based Roms try Harshjelly or SamiOS.
Before you do all the things read some guide about how to flash with odin, how to root jb shaan`s guide and some more if needed.
If you do some research before you should not have problems

Why would you want to downgrade? First read guide about Odin and then go and read Harshjelly thread first then flash his rom and from there on should be easier to learn about governors,I/O schedulers, kernel etc. After you think you have a good knowledge base and you`re still not happy with you`re android you can move on to CyanogenMod 10.1 of Team Canjica(19.10 nightly is the most stable version).

Thanks, but been there, done that. All I'm saying is that I doubt it's lag free, I did try various firmwares, kernels and stuff but 5 sec delay when opening apps and lag in games, videos, UI is so bad that it's unbearable. That's why I had to downgrade, which is a much complicated process which frankly I don't want to repeat. That's why I want to make sure the new firmware is lag and delay free before I upgrade again.
And I'm pretty sure JB isn't supposed to be that bad, despite the fact that S Advance isn't much of a phone.

And I'm pretty sure JB isn't supposed to be that bad, despite the fact that S Advance isn't much of a phone.

In cyanogenmod you wont encounter any kind of lag. So you can flash VSLPA via odin then flash cwm temporary make a backup then root it play with it a day or two and see how it goes and if you dont like it restore from backup then flash cyanogendmod 10.1 and i guarantee that you wont encounter any kind of lag there.
And btw id you want to thank me for any help just hit Thanks button and I`ll know

Sry for the way I express myself but english is not my native language
Goodluck and don't think about it just flash it and see for yourself
