[WIP] Unbricking HARD Bricked Motorola Atrix HD - Motorola Atrix HD

Since I'm hard bricked, I can help out others. We just need to work together.
Sadly though, our device ID is 05c6:f006 as proven by the HTC forum, it is not unbrickable just yet. But we can do this.

Also, in our bootrom, I have seen 05c6:9008, but not 05c6:9006. (Maybe it's telling us that it was id changed, or another new version or completly different protocol).
here is what I get when I lsusb it as verbose:

Also, for some odd reason, it is being registered as a Human Interface Device.
I will try to fix that.
All done on Ubuntu 12.10

Does this mean your any closer to unbricking, why don't you send it to at&t?

I also have a hard bricked Atrix HD laying around.

Now that bootloaders of MB886 are unlockable , I hope there would be a solution for this. I'm on a hard brick too. QPST/QHSUSB_DLOAD mode. Black screen, but Green Led shows sign of power.

Yeah, I would try unlocking the bootloader... That trick worked quite well on my OG Atrix with a hard brick.. Can't hurt to try if you can get into fastboot.

To control ppc from pc: program for Linux

I used Linux, but when i used ppc from pc i can used Pocket Controller-Pro 6, but it is only for win. Is there a simil program but for Linux?
You might search to see if anyone has tried to get that to run under Wine.
i thought about that too, but i doubt that it will work. It's too in-debth for an emulator if you ask me. Sad that there ain't no linux for our devices...
if there was made a vnc server for pocketpc you can use that
i sugest googling for "vnc pocketpc server"
Active Sync isn't compatible with Wine and without Active Sync, Pocket Controller-Pro 6 don't work.
Moreover, on Linux the pda isn't recognized. The system don't look him
Any idea?
Hi guys,
Right yep I looked into this a while ago, a few points:
* Linux detects and works just fine with my kaiser, i connect it up, it gets an IP and happily will let me talk to it, transfer files, etc (Running kubuntu)
* Remote control, there isn't a fab way of doing this, I use pocket VNC server on my kaiser, and use crossover to run winvnc on my linux machine (for some reason the linux vnc client won't work/doesn't get a supported screen resolution/colour match)
So hopefully that'll help you along. Firstly you need to get your linux machine 'connecting' to your wm6 device.
You also need to REMOVE the ipaq/default kernel module that loads when you connect your kaiser, as you should be using the rndis_host/cdc_ether drivers instead, so tweaking your udev rules are needed, so when you plug your kaiser into usb you should get modules like this:
rndis_host 7424 0
cdc_ether 6528 1 rndis_host
usbnet 18824 2 rndis_host,cdc_ether
And dmesg output on mine shows:
[96659.436000] usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 3
[96659.612000] usb 1-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
[96661.388000] rndis0: register 'rndis_host' at usb-0000:00:1d.0-1, RNDIS device, 80:00:60:0f:e8:00
I can then see an interface come up:
ifconfig eth2
eth2 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 80:00:60:0F:E8:00
inet addr:169.254.2.2 Bcast:169.254.2.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
inet6 addr: fe80::8200:60ff:fe0f:e800/64 Scope:Link
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:8050 Metric:1
RX packets:36 errors:31 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:2
TX packets:45 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:2306 (2.2 KB) TX bytes:6849 (6.6 KB)
Which lets me ping my kaiser:
ping 169.254.2.1
PING 169.254.2.1 (169.254.2.1) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 169.254.2.1: icmp_seq=1 ttl=128 time=4.29 ms
64 bytes from 169.254.2.1: icmp_seq=2 ttl=128 time=3.40 ms
The main instructions on getting it to mesh together are at http://synce.sourceforge.net/
Its not easy though! be warned!!
Oh and you *have* to remove pin protection from your kaiser for this to work, the odccm daemons and their brothers (dccm, et al) will not work right with pin protection as I worked for a long time trying to get that working without success.
What pin? SIM pin?
However very thanks
nah, you can leave you're sim pin, its the device protection pin/security you need to not use (the one where you wake up the device and it asks for an unlock pin)
Ah, ok. Thanks

HDD not found

Hello
Yesterday I installed in my HTC Shift Photofast a G-Monster 1.8 "ZIF V2 128GB. SSD has been detected. During the installation Win7, actually almost the end, there was a error message: disk were not available etc. Rebooted. In the Bios was detected something. Just stood HDD1, no information, no producers, etc. Off. Cable tested for SSD. Still some time out and clean again. In the BIOS again without HDD1 info. Old HDD installed. The same HDD1: no info. Line from the Shift and expanded in an external HDD enclosure installed and tested on a different computer. HDD is detected. SSD is not recognized. Then again installed in the Lapi. Now the field is left blank. Do not stand HDD1 times. Whether by SSD or HDD. USB stick and USB CD Rom drive detected in bios and also work.
I have tried to withdraw BIOS battery overnight. without success
Now is the Shift out or even something you can test / check?
Greeting
Paul
P.S.: sorry for my bad english

Make sure the circular ribbon cable did not tear. This may be your problem. This is the only thing I can think of. I had all sorts of problems when I installed my SSD. But after going in a few times and actuallysecuring the ribbon cable properly to my drive, I was able to get it recognized and able to install Windows, although, mine is the Kingspec 128GB SSD.
I hope this helps, just make sure that the cable is inserted properly, all the way in, and it is secured.
Thanks!
PS
Did you see there is 2GB of RAM available to the SHIFT? It is offered by Mem-Store on Ebay. Please check the Shift's RAM thread for more details. I have bought and installed the module myself. I left them excellent feedback, my username being guyyyy!
Take care!
Hello
I tested it again. Connector is faulty. The defective point can not find. With a standard 40 pin ZIF connector it works. I ask for Connector at HTC. But I do not have much hope.
Photofast SSD I sold on Ebay. Can you recommend a good (possible cheap) SSD? 64GB is enough.
Paul
P.S.: 2GB of RAM I have already seen. I will definitely buy

The only experience I have are with the Kingspec. I had a friend install a Kingspec in his as well. I am not sure if they offer in a lower capacity though. Check ebay. Just type HTC SHIFT and sort by price, highest to lowest.
Go all the way to the lower priced items. This way you can either find the cable you need, OR a cheaper SSD. I hope you find what you are looking for.
This is the best advice I can give, as this is older hardware.
Take care and all the best.
Luis

That sounds right, because reading this forum the Heigth of the SSD needs to be no more than 5mm. This is where you need to be the most aware. Many standard drives that come in the 1.8 form factor have heigths of 8-9mm and those will cause you to have problems closing the shift (If I read correctly throughout this forum) So you need to make sure the heigth so these you listed look good.
I am not familiar with Runcore brand, but I wasn't with King Spec either, and it is working Exceptionally.
Take care and I hope this helps.

Wow that giant copy paste is ummmm....
Anyway, if you care about heat and power at all, go Intel.
Bulldozer especially uses a lot of power.
My Phenom II is ok as far as heat and power go, but Intel CPUs run A LOT cooler.

Android Android USB Device

Hi everybody!
I have just rebooted my MotoG 2nd gen while USB connected and suddenly on the pc a new drive (but empty) appeared!!
The phone has not booted but shows a recharging battery.
I was, for a few seconds, more than happy to find out a way to expose the SD as a real disk instead of that stupid MPT way to exchange data; but the disk is shown as "no media".
What is this dummy disk?? Here you are some data I have dumped for it
Code:
Disk Size = no media

Remix Mini No Sound Through HDMI

Recently bought a mini, everything seems working except there is no sound through HDMI.
I am using a LG TV as my monitor.
The system automatically updated to 2.0.626 after I powered on for a while.
Is there any fix for the sound issue?
Thanks.
Please use settings icon
A solution is -> open settings -> than sound and notifications -> than audio output mode -> choose between 1. Output audio signal to earphone and 2. Output audio signal to HDMI.
Thats it
Is that fix only for the mini? I want to download it for the Asus Chromebox and use it as an htpc. Thanks

It may be just the HDMI cable

I also just got a new Mini. Mine came with an HDMI cable included. It works, but all audio was only heard via the earphone jack. I remembered having similar issues with other devices. I unplugged the HDMI cable from my Roku box (which sends audio over its HDMI cable) and removed the one that came with the Mini and BINGO, audio over the HDMI cable. No switching settings needed. Now I wanted new HDMI cable so that I could switch the TV's input with it's remote and have audio over HDMI over all devices. Quality cables can be had at many price points. Ollie's or Big Lots is what I like. In their wide selection, make sure to buy the HDMI cable clearly marked "With HD Audio" label, otherwise, it may be just like the one from which you are upgrading. You may see that there are many more they are selling that do not have audio over the cable, usually for less money. Hope this helps.
Thanks.....good to know.

Hi, I've recently managed to install android x86 8.1 r5 on my Dell Latitude E6530 and got video out through HDMI to TV using LVDS-1:d via grub.
However I'm unable to get audio through HDMI.
Can anyone tell me why?
Here is what I get on terminal:
x86_64:1 $ su
x86_64:7 # cat /proc/asound/cards
0 [PCH ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel PCH
HDA Intel PCH at 0xf7e30000 irq 30
