You should really consider clocking up to at least 1400 you'll notice a huge difference as long as your rom/kernel is stable at higher speeds. If your scared of overheating you can set a profile to change your clock settings once it reaches a certain temp.

But... It's smooth as it is just a question, why do you overclock? For games, or for smoothness in the os? Because I have a Nexus 7 for games and everything, I don't need a super powered phone. Even my N7 is usually underclocked
Another reason I don't overclock is because my phone is unstable at higher frequencies with my voltage settings. If I raise the voltages it will use more battery :/
But they said, I am setting my phone to 1.2GHz now to try

Had an idea, why not create a database of our O4X scores? See whats good and whats not.
Thinking of a template. You can run any benchmark you want ant post the results.
I am going to run the benchmarks and update.
I ll try to make a datasheet and hold the results and see how different phones with different setups/updates run the benchmarks.
An example template:
Just copy paste and put your results and info.
Update version: V10f for example
SetCPU: none / set to 1500MHz for the benchmakrs

Ran a little script for quadrant Pimp My Rom gives you a list of tweaks that you choose to install, it's fairly easily done. Search it! also got 12 FPS in that GLbenchmark 2.5 Egypt thingy..
Does the script improve the performance in general? Or only for quadrant?
Nah, it just tricks Quadrant

What do you mean? Reboot and do benchmarks or have it open for some time and do benchmarks?
I think after a reboot the bench results are better.

Hello!
Since there are some kernels that support GPU overclocking:
1. What GPU clock do you use?
2. Is your GPU undervolted?
3. Do you see any performance boost with overclock? (eg. benchmark or gaming)
4. Is your battery life the same as before? (or better/worse)
Another thing, does anyone know if you overclock our Nexus 7 GPU - does it stay there or it has no effect?
Have fun!
My example:
1. I OCed my GPU to 520mhz
2. mV values at 520mhz is 1175
3. My benchmarks are the same - I think I can see some performance improvement while gaming (might be placebo)
4. Can't really tell
i overclocked my gpu to 500mhz
with an undervolt of -50mv
You should also list what kernel you are using
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Running M-kernel a40 with GPU at 500 no under volt, I see slight improvement in graphics benchmarks but you won't get much because of the RAM bottleneck. My battery is only worse if I do a lot of gaming

Oh, and Metallice, why we need to use 600, 666. 700 or the other values? And, how much voltage the cpu and gpu on this device can handle?
Edit: 520 mhz using faux kernel ultimate, I don't know the voltage on his kernel.

What are good ranges of temp. For both CPU and battery.. What's too horny? I assume if **** gets too hot it has some sort of Safety mechanism that will notify you or just shut down. Is that safe to assume?

You should always keep it out of sunlight... the black behind the glass operates as a sun collector and makes the phone alot hotter than the ambient temp... since I avoided that one thing it has never gotten out of hand.
Where did you get the arrgh kernel? I've been looking for it all other the place, it doesn't seem to have a thread in the Atrix HD section.
Try not to use your phone a lot while it's charging as it causes the battery to heat up alot (current is going into the battery and then your phone is sucking it right back out). Doing that can make it really frigging hot, trust me I been there.

I was wondering about actual degrees.. I have a temp and CPU temp gauge but I just don't know what's too hot and what an average running temp shoud be
Sent from ?Hell? using Satan's Atrix HD Maxxx.. Running @ 1.89 GHz w/ CM11 & Arrrghhh kernel 3.0.101
I've heard from various sources that for ARM processors the nominal running temperature should be between 30-40° C and should never exceed 65° C.... which seems about right because 65° C is almost 150° F.

Hey bro.. Shoot me an Email address I can send that Kernel to. What phone you got? ROM? The one I've got is for CM11, but I think I've got the AOSP somewhere. The only issues I'm having with it are the auto rotation dosent auto rotate other than that smooth an buttery. Great governor and I/O schedulers too.. ..

It should be one of the top threads if not the top thread.
