i will try to use OVERCOME instalation guide, but i have one question.I cant paste the file to the TAB,because it is stucked in the samsung logo and computer dont recognize it as removable disc to paste overcome_4.0.0_wipe.zip
please any suggestions?
The first part of overcome need you to flash gb-stock-safe-v5 using Odin. Then you have a working tab with stock Samsung. You can figure out how to use copy file to it by then.
Second part to flash overcome kernel using Odin.
Seems to me you haven't even read the guide.....?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using xda app-developers app
No,i read all the guide, but after flash with gb-stock-safe-v5 using Odin some voice from tab said there is not enough space on partition. So after the flash i didnt have working tab.I can access to the download mode and recovery, but still stuck on samsung logo at the beginning.
Is it possible that internal SD gone bad??

Didn't you first repartition by flashing the gt-p1000_mr.pit file in Odin?
I was think of the same thing.
The Pit file will partition it correctly.
Also, I don't recall the tab on GB-stock-safe-v5 talks?
Isn't overcome kernel that talks?
thak you for your replays.
I was following this overcome guide from page 7.
First use :
1.) gt-p1000_mr.pit and GB_Stock_Safe_v5.tar and JPZ Modem with modem.bin
2.) you have working tab ( but i dont have after this ) Overcome_7_Series_v4.0.0_Wipe.zip and paste it intothe tab
3.)flash the Overcome Kernel 4.0.0
etc,etc....
This is all procedure i have done with my tab
Yes the overcome kernel talks like this
If gb-stock-safe-v5 with pit didn't give you a working tab,
Yeah, likely it is a broken internal SD.
Odin message box no error?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using xda app-developers app
No error at all.Everything was going smooth with no problems in Odin.
Probably must be a broken internal SD.Worst case scenario
Is it possible to rechange internal SD?Or i should install ROM to external SD to have a working tab
CM/AOKP ROMs use different partition.
You could give it a try and see how it goes.
Do you have external SD? Just put aokp-jb latest or cm10.1 and gapps 20130301 on external SD card,
Flash overcome kernel using Odin, and once it is done, just force it power off.
Then boot to cwm recovery and flash the ROM three times, then gapps.
Watch the cwm screen for any error.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using xda app-developers app
Yes i have external microSD slot, but i have to buy a microSD card. This is the only option to have working tab.
OK,first i will make a little research about this CM/AOKP ROMs,because this is the first time doing this, but i will learn
Can I install these CM/AOKP ROMs on internal patrition, even it is broaken or into the microSD card?
Thank you for your time and replys
For CM I think there is an option.
It was in one of the thread about Damaged Internal SD.

If GB-Stock-Safe won't work try flashing the proper stock ROM for your tab's region and following the Overcome procedure from there.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using xda app-developers app
Its very poor with ROM and updates for our region ( Slovenia ).
Fist i will restock with rom as it was original and i will try to repair it under warranty if it is possible.
Otherwise i will try any other option to make it workable
Now i arrange that my tab will be fixed under warranty. So i will downgrade it to the stock rom Froyo 2.2
Is any evidence that i tried different roms?Do i have to be careful about something?
Or i just use Odin and flash it with PIT,PDA,PHONE,CSC files and everything will be ok?do i have to change kernel either?
because i still have problem with bad internal SD.
Thak you for your help
Ps: i will use like official rom : PIT: P1.pit
PDA : P1000XWJJ7
PHONE : P1000_XXJK5_OXAJK5 (just modem.bin file )
CSC :GT-P1000-CSC-SERJJ2

Not sure how I messed up my Bell Vibrant.
I rooted it but was stuck with 3E recovery.
So I tried to flash speedmod via Odin.
The phone went into bootloop.
So I tried Flashing Darky Rom through Odin, pit file, re-partition the works
Then it went into Recovery on reboot where I saw that the SD card wasn't mounting.
So I tried to flash dbdata.rfs.tar but this changed nothing, just the same bootloop, no mounting of the SD card again.
So what can I do? Could my flashing attempts have actually caused a hardware problem?
I have Download mode fine and via Odin everything installs but can't get past the failure to mount the SD card.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
No a flash with Odin can never cause a hardware problem.
Have you unmounted the sd card while flashing?
Bad topic subject :-/
I don't think I unmounted intentionally. Is there anywhere I can simply use Odin to clean install a whole new OS which will remount the SD Card?
I've been using Odin for a while and been flashing Roms with CWM with lots of phones. This is the wife's phone and I decided to trick it out for her for Valentines day. And I bricked it! I feel like such an ass, she's been understanding so far, but if I don't get it sorted I'm in the doghouse

I usually get firmware from here and its always work great. The stock bell Canada one is under North America 2.3.3 ugkg3. Use a 512 pit file and repartition aswell. If this works you can always upgrade the pda with jw1 2.3.6 and root later but sounds like you just want to get it working first.

Thanks so much. I'll check it out and report back.
vanisleryan - thanks so much. I really appreciate it. It's all running fine again.
What is the safest way to root and overcome the 3E recovery block so I can just put roms on the SD card and flash from recovery mode?
Thanks again
Rooting depends on what firmware you used. You need to find the appropriate kernel and flash it in odin as a pda.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
I have a bell Canada galaxy s also and I'm running jw1 2.3.6 as my pda, kg3 as my phone, and kg3 as my csc. You can mix and match the files so if you download the jw1 firmware from the link I gave you, just use the pda file and use the phone and csc files from the kg3 firmware. After that is installed download the file at the bottom of the first post in this link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1112908
You want the one for jw1, one has a "bm" on it one doesn't, you want the one that doesn't. It does not need to be extracted. Flash in odin as pda. Then you will be rooted. I don't know if that kernel contains the cwm apk, you may need to do a search for it. As you will need cwm to install custom roms. Pretty sure it's in that thread somewhere. Just do a search.

today i tried remove Google maps from my tab using titanium backup. I tried install another version of maps but it didn't work so I restored backup what I did before uninstalling. I rebooted my tab and it gets past boot loco and "first" boot animation. Tab goes to Samsung loco (second boot animation) but it vibrates one time and then three times (something fc) and it freezes for few seconds and then it starts "second" boot animation again (Samsung loco). this continuous forever. I tried data wipe in stock recovery but it didn't help. Can someone help me and give me full instructions because I have never modded any Samsung device (I have Huawei u8800 witch doesn't have download mode etc.) I have only Mac so I can't use odin. I think I have no warranty because my dad got this tab from one conference in Portugal. Thanks for all who can help me.
I have rooted stock 2.2 firmware.

If you are trying to go back to unrooted stock firmware, you can follow this instruction:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19763536#post19763536
If you want safe rooted gingerbread download this gb-stock-safe on teamovercome website:
http://www.teamovercome.net/p1000/?page_id=21
Use the same set of instructiom on the first post except for the downloading part.
If you want to flash a nice and stable ROM, you can download the latest version of teamovercome ROM. Look around on the dev forum, and search for teamovercom.
Thanks, I'll try later today when I'm in home.

Oh I missed what you said about having only Mac and no PC.
Please use heimdall, see this post:
Introduction on Heimdall:

Flashing P1000 ROM using Heimdall (but for windows)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1508703
Using Heimdall on Mac (But not P1000)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1127419
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878686
Also, since you were from froyo (2.2), if you want to upgrade to gingerbread, you have a better chance flashing gb-stock-safe from the teamovercome website.
Follow the instruction about fixing bootloader (I think you will need to find windows for this one).
Otherwise, you will need to find pit file (repartition) and dbdata.rfs because many gingerbread ROM packages (zip or rar files) do not contain pit file or dbdata.rfs in it -- I upgraded a froyo to gingerbread without fixing the bootloader before..by repartitioning with the pit file and laoding GB's dbdata.rfs but Can't guarantee it will work for yours.

I can't boot phone and I think data wipe disabled USB debugging.
EDIT: I can access adb in recovery but it doesn't mount sdcard.
EDIT: I'll try flashing cf-root first so I can use CWM to get my files from internal sdcard.
Oh you are trying to retrieve data from internal sd card, my bad.
Ok. Installing cf-root may solve ur problem.
I try first get data from internal sd and then unbrick tab... Odin for Mac didn't recognize device...now trying to use heimdall in virtual box.

While we are at this, may I ask if anyone has their internal SD wiped during restocking to gb-stock-safe v5 using odin or heimdall?
Or when flashing any rom.
I recently use heimdall to flash the stock safe with repartition and the card isn't wiped.

I read overcome guide and it said it will wipe all, but I think it will only wipe all if you install overcome kernel + rom.

Sent from my U8800 using Tapatalk 2
I have no experience in Mac but I thought it should be driverless like Linux.
In Ubuntu I only need to add one line in my udev rules, and install android sdk
And when I plug in my device, and type
adb devices
It shows my serial number
Then I unpack my heimdall and I can flash.
Maybe you read a bit about installing android sdk and how to use adb with p1000 with adb in Mac.
Once ad see it, put in download mode and you can flash with heimdall.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA
I have Android sdk and I have used adb on my Mac. It recognizes my tab with adb devices at least in recovery mode. I'll try flashing overcome stock gb tomorrow.

I really don't know which process will wipe your internal sd, and what will be the safest way.
But I am quite sure that I have been switching kernels when I was on overcome, and it didn't touch my internal sd.
But you can try flash cf-root kernel like yappoe said,
then boot to recovery and mount the internal sd
you can then pull the files from adb.. or at least that is what I think...
Anyway, if you decide to proceed with re-stock, I did it like this:
$ heimdall flash --repartition --pit ./gt-p1000_mr.pit --factoryfs ./factoryfs.rfs --cache ./cache.rfs --dbdata ./hidden.rfs --primary-boot ./boot.bin --secondary-boot ./Sbl.bin --param ./param.lfs --kernel ./zImage
hope it helps.

Hi all,
i bought a galaxy tab last month, and i installed cyanogenmod 9 nightlies. i was using without problem. but after 23.07 nightlies i got play store error. it wouldnt open. i saw that google account was removed. than i wanted full factory reset and wipe sd card and than clean cyanogenmod install...
Off course clockwork recoverymod was also deleted (i know i am stupid!)
Than i found some p1000 stock roms and tried install with odin. And i did it, installed rom without problem but when i turn my tablet on its waiting on boot screen. it doesnt turn on. stays on boot.
I found this when i was on recovery mod (tablets stock recovery) SEE ATTACHMENT PLEASE.
Now i have a tablet and i cant do anything. I think if i have a 3 files stock rom i can flash it with odin.
Do you know what do i have to do now? Please help me guys
You have gone this far for nothing.
No Play or Gmail means you just need to flash gapps.
I know people say nightlies no need to flash gapps.
But if gapps is missing, just flash gapps again.
Now you are at this stage,
use Overcome method:
Go to overcome site

Once done, continue to flash overcome kernel tar using Odin
and then boot to CWM recovery and flash CM9 twice
then flash gapps.
Hopefully that solve your problem.

well, I don't know for sure.
But the P1000N/L has different touch screen driver in their kernel.
You can flash it using Odin and you can even use the recovery, since CWM isn't touch screen based.
But that is not what I am saying above.
You asked for guide, I said Overcome guide is clear.
Have you even download the PDF and read?
Page 7/8 has picture of what to put in Odin fields. You can put GB stock safe v4, v5, or whatever, a Panama or Trinidad based GB, or even Froyo, the picture is still going to be the same (or similar).
So, use your froyo, use the guide. (or not) up to you.

This error regularly happens when flashing stock ROMs. Then you will have to download and flash dbdata.tar as PDA in Odin (Google "P1000 dbdata.tar"; it's about 1.25MB or so). This solves it for me and a few others.

OK so I am using the correct PIT, or so I understand. I even tried reflashing the dbdata.tar as PDA in Odin. Still no change.
Could this have an affect on the modem of the tab as well and cause it not to read the sim?

No clue, never had to reflash my modem. That may have introduced a wild variable into the equation, because usually the dbdata trick fixes that problem.
I advise starting the whole Overcome restock process from the beginning. Try to ignore the modem part.
YAY! Fully rooted with SU and BusyBox Installed. I restocked to Froyo with PIT and Re-partition, then reflashed Froyo again (no PIT). Then flashed the dbdata.rfs.tar file. Then I was able to use Superoneclick to root and install SU & BB.
Thanks to each one of you for your help!

Having looked at the thread regarding a similar predicament that I have (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1783556), I'm keen to know I can use ODIN to put on a new ROM. Basically these are the steps I've followed;
1. Used KIES to update my ROM from Gingerbread to ICS
2. Use ODIN to update root my phone with CM9 safe kernel (not knowing it would have been significantly better to have copied my new AOKP ICS ROM to the internal SD card first)
3. Rebooted my phone and cannot get past 'SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE GT-N7000' logo.
4. I can still boot into download mode and use ODIN but wondered how I should use it to install a ROM as none of the ROM's I've downloaded, are in the correct .tar, md5, smd format, that OSIN is looking for ?
Some pretty basic reading for you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321268

Having looked at the thread regarding a similar predicament that I have (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1783556), I'm keen to know I can use ODIN to put on a new ROM. Basically these are the steps I've followed;

First of all, I'm not sure if this is the answer your looking for, but here is it anyway.
IN PC ODIN, there is a 'PDA' button (same button you flashed your kernel to), you need to download the ROM's zip file and flash it from there.
Stock ROM file you download is zip, you need to extract it one time to get into .tar, then you can use that file with pda of odin.

Would these be the files needed to get my phone back up and running? I am new to Android and screwed my phone up after a factory reset, now it just reads downloading for ages and does nothing. I still get a screen that reads Hyperdroid RedPill Recovery when i power on with volume button up pressed. Volume down I get Android man and it reads downloading but does nothing.
I have looked all over for this situation but seem to get a piece here and there and not the exact same issue all in one so I am reluctant to just do something and make it worse.
Please advise
That is downloading mod, it won't do anything but remain as it is, if you don't do anything.
You need to connect you device to PC in this state and have to use odin
Read 1st line on my sign and read post#2, you will get full instruction, how to use odin.
