Hi All
Just got my xperia z and the sound from the speaker doesn't work - it just makes a weird buzzing noise
Any suggestions?
and no - it's not been underwater yet.
oh and it worked immediately out of the box - it's stopped working since
confused and angry
Sounds faulty. Try rebooting then test again, then try a factory reset if necessary. If it's still not working return it.
Sony didn't have any suggestions so I'm having to send it back
what a colossal waste of my time
Now i remember why I got shut of my last xperia phone - it had to be returned twice!

anyone else getting this- really annoying buzzing noise.
is there a solution?
I have this sudden noise sometimes, too.
Same here... can't figure it out till now, anyone know it?
same here ...some helppp!!!!
same here
it happened to me long time ago on my old K810i when I flashed original firmware instead of branded. Then I was trying to change audio drivers etc, and suddenly the problem just dissapeared after flashed the same firmware as before.
Now, with X1 the same very annoying buzzing sound Of course I was trying to hard reset, but no luck. So I tried to use SEUS, reinstalled phone using SEUS, but without change. I hope it's not HW related, regarding experience with K810i
Any help is warmly welcomed
Hardware related I sent my to Sony UK to repair they replaced a few parts and flashed a newer radio. It arrived back 8 days later fixed no problems. I then sold it due to cracks.
It bugged the hell out of me, it happened on every call in the end and was more noticeable in quiet environments.
Hi,
Have a Z3 Compact for less than a week.
Awesome phone, but all of a sudden, any vibration stopped working.
It doesn't vibrate when a phone call is coming in, nor as a feedback to keyboard typing, nor when one switches the phone off, nor for any notification.
I obviously turned vibrate on to do this test.
The diagnostic tool does not trigger a vibration either.
A full factory reset did not fix it...
I am afraid this is a hadrware problem... but I'm asking anyway: any idea guys?

I have a similar problem, see my thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/help/vibration-randonly-t2953485/
Try giving your phone a shake and see if it comes back to life. I haven't sent my phone to Sony yet, haven't had the time, but in my case it must be a hardware issue
Fix sony Z3 Vibrate not working
Same problem...
When vibration stop to work, you had to shake your device. So, the vibration will work again...
It's an hardware issue: I tried to flash another rom. I tried to root/unroot: it doesn't matter.
I sent my Z3C in warranty, but they didn't solve anything
My vibration stopped working months ago. Every so often it comes back, but it's very faint and doesn't last long. Thought it was just me but it's weird this is an actual problem with the phone.

guys, i just want to share my story on vibrations:
i had similiar issue, have z3 compact and one day realised my vibration stopped working, not even in tests and diagnostics.. tried reseting it and restoring backup. nothing worked. sent it to SONY for repair under warranty. they send it back and say they replaced some mechanical part (no specific info)
i open the phone, it works nicely and vibrates like a kitten. i start restoring my apps and stuff and suddenly see/feel that vibration is not working again (also not working anywhere). this time i factory reset the phone thru android menu (not thru sony companion repair on pc) and the vibration came back.
also when i reset to factory settings via sony's repair app on the phone it still wont work (the vibrations) not even in diagnostics. so may be that one of the apps is seriously feckin up the vibrations that they dont even work in diagnostic tests and have to be formated thru the android native option not some sony stuff.

My Xperia XA2 H3113 Android Pie 9.0.0 has stopped vibrating too!
Hello,
I have a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact D5803 running sony concept android 6.0.1 software. A few days ago the vibration randomly stopped working. I've looked online and shaking the phone doesn't do anything, not even temporarily. It was working on the marshmallow firmware so I don't think it's a software issue, however I haven't dropped the phone or anything like that, so I don't see how it could be a hardware issue. I sent the phone to Sony for repair in the past for a faulty headphone Jack, and really don't want to have to go through all that again. Does anyone have any insight on what might be wrong? I have tried the diagnostic test, and it's not vibrating. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance
Im having the same issue. I remember i had It some time ago and could it get fixed through flashint the KK fw and relock and unlock the bl again. Now it came with the upgrade 2157 -> 3052
Im not doing any mistakes, so its really annoying to keep the same procedure every and every time. But i couldnt find out by what its caused

I'm having the same issue. That link in the previous post did not work for me. Have you learned anything else? I'm on stock unrooted and latest update. This has been happening over the last week.

Hi guys,
In short....it's been an week since my Z3 compact D5803 lower speaker stopped working. I've tried almost everything (hard reset, cleaning data from smart connect, restarting in safe mode) but nothing happens. I was just hoping for some advice whether it is a software or hardware issue and what could be done.
Will appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance.
P.S. I'm currently running MM 6.0.1; 23.5.A.0.575 on NON rooted device.

First use the service menu to test the speaker,
open the phone and type *#*#7378423#*#*
select service tests - stereo speaker right & stereo speaker left.
If the speaker is working then it's a software fault.
If it's faulty then you should try and get it fixed via Sony.
Register your Sony phone
Then call support and explain the problem with the phone.
They will get you to try repairing the phone with PC Companion, so be prepared to try this or at least say you have.
They will give you the address of a service centre to send it to, along with a repair code.
Wait 5 days for your repaired phone.
Edit: your phone will be reset to the latest build, so make sure you retrieve any important data before you send it off. Be prepared that it will be factory reset.
Thanks a lot. So I've tried what you suggested and the speaker didn't make any sound. So I'll send it for service.
Hello,
I have my moto x 2014 about 10 months.
Suddenly, the earpiece stopped working.
I had the nexus experience rom, thought its a bug so I reboot, didn't worked.
Then I wiped cache, nothing.
Factory reset, nothing.
Revert to stock rom - nothing.
I've noticed that many users have this problem, but their soulutions doesn't help me. Hearing aid for example, can't find it in marshmallow 6.0 but still the earpiece doesn't work in whatsapp audio also so it's not connected to that.
Speaker works fine and when I plug earphones, everything is good also, but I can't plug earphones or talk with speaker every time when I make/receive call....
Four months ago ~ the screen broke so I went to a lab and they replaced it.. and everything was fine.
Last thursday, the phone was in my bag and when I tried to make a call it just stopped working, no fall, no crack, nothing....
So I think it is a hardware problem (unless there is another solution...).
But in order to fix it, I need to open the phone once again and it will cost alot..
What do you guys think I should do?
I really like that phone, everything works awesome except for this, which is serious one....
I consider buying galaxy s7 and thats it... :/
Thanks.
