I bought my new xperia sp, but i noticed that.. while my phone is charging.. album application is not responding, i cant zoom the picture and also keyboard did not register touch, to overcome this problem i just put my phone in sleep and wake it and problem is gone for some time, anyone also facing this kind of problem, or anyone visited service center regarding touch issue of xsp.. ???
Just started today the screen is not very responsive. Well see if it gets worse might just reinstall .284

I have a problem. When the phone is located for example on a table. This touch screen responds very hard (when it is in the horizontal position). when phonei is in the a vertical position, the screen works very well.

so i decided to buy this phone but after reading this issue i kinda changed my mind but i thinks this may work
i bought a Xperia Tipo for my baby brother last week and it has touch sensitive issues just like SP when it placed horizontal ( i watched the Utube Videos and it looks exact the Same) but i found a little Mod App called (Touch Calibrate) i want you test it for me and say that if that worked for you or not!

Touch Irresponsive, Screen Freezes
Like a lot of users, I am also having problems with the xperia SP's touch screen. The touchscreen becomes randomly irresponsive. Sony acknowledges the problem and suggests:
"This have now been investigated and if you experience this problem I advice you to contact your local support team to have your phone calibrated at a repair center."
The problem is in live in Bangladesh and they do not have official Sony tech support centres. Does anyone know how to do the touch screen calibrations ? Any DIY solutions will be highly appreciated.

I have strange issue with my Xperia Z. I used to use many android based phones, so i believe Z's behaviour is incorrect. How it works - i.e. I have my Z laying on the table, when I launch some app supporting screen rotation i.e. browser, mail etc., it automatically rotates to landscape mode. When it's in landscape mode and I am lifting it up (keeping the device in portrait position) it doesn't switch into portrait mode at all or it's very very delayed. I haven't found any calibration settings in the software, so have no idea what I can do in order to let the screen rotate smoothly after physical position change.
Quick update - both orientation sensor in portrait mode and gyroscope are giving wired results. Can it be calibrated somehow?
Any advice appreciated!

Dial *#*#7378423#*#* there is calibrations.

I have 4.1.2 and the menu is there - i could calibrate gyroscope, but accelerometer calibration was unsuccessful - Error Code 1.
Anyhow after calibration of gyroscope result is the same - horizontal orientation sensor is shifted to the right ;( PLS see attached screenshot.

I just tried it and it's good on my phone,i don't know if it's a hardware issue.
You try another firmware maybe it's a software problem and maybe if you can update to 4.2.2

suddenly the auto rotation problem disappear when i install asphalt 8 and play it then i unistall it and wait for a day ! weird huh ?

By any chance the rotate problem appeard when you had asphalt 8 installed? I had this problem for over 2 months and 2 weeks ago I deleted asphalt 8 and that problem dissapeared...I think this games has some error in it that affect some phones

last night i bought xperia z ultra its very nice phone and i like alot but
when i switch the device in portrait mode and i try to scroll in ( contact or store or youtube ) sometime instead of scrolling its tab so i press the back button and so on i try to scroll again its tab on one of the contact by wrong instead of scrolling
so my question is is it software problem and will fix soon or hardware problem and i should send it back

iam using the org charger but its not the problem !!

I just shifted to this monster from my previous loved galaxy s3. The phone seems great except for two major problems but I hope temporary issues. The touch is Annoyingly inaccurate for the first, the battery is suspiciously insufficient thesecond.
you won't believe how much time it took me to write this single paragraph. I think the touch is over sensitive. Quite often when I like to scroll it get it as click. Awful experience.
Is there an app that can calibrate the xperia Z1 touchscreen since it's really like HELL! this issue is not addressed in the Sony Forums and many people from there have turned a blind eye on this pressing issue.
My concern is that is there a third party app that can calibrate our Z1 touch screen? Much like with xperia tipo, I have stumbled upon that thread and tried installing the TouchFW apk something like that but failed to do so since my phone says app not installed.
Most people with xperia Tipo have the same problem the same as the z1 touch screen problem that fails to register touch and with that screen calibration app their problem was solved.
I really hope that people here might have a solution for this one since it can really help a lot of z1 owners out there.

Still got no reply from this thread....
The touchscreen issue was happening in my phone after playing Nova 3 for a while. After some days I found out that, just wiping the screen with a clean cloth solves the problem. I used to pause the game, just a single wipe on the screen with a cloth will do it just fine.

Well, as I had this problem so I followed most of the touch screen issue related thread. This might not be a permanent fix for that but it works!
Hey guys .. I have just updated my rooted xperia z1 to android 4.4.4 (I have flashed the update with twrp and flashed the stripped ftf with flashtool) .. Now my phone's proximity sensor is not working and the phone is not automatically rotating .. I have tried to clear cache and dalvic cache and worked ... But just for a small amount of time
Please can anyone help me and tell me what to do?

Even me I could not find ear proximity sensor apk or sth like this file
I think the best way is flashing your phone
Flash it by Flash Tools, including wipe data, cache, apps log and system
Guys I can also notice that when I lock my phone .. The backlight does not turn off
Can someone send me the link to the ftf that they flashed (rooted/unbranded) .. And I'll try to flash it and report back if it worked

Guys the thing that is causing my problems is the adapt to lighting conditions setting .. When its on, the proximity sensor and the rotation sensor stops ... Now that I have diagnosed the problem .. Can anyone help???

I had the same problem, I replaced the Ribbon with buttons that connects the screen to the motherboard (there are sensors).
Gyroscope and accelerometer now work.

I have replaced that ribbon as I had a problem with the screen. The other ribbon cable (the one which goes to the magnetic charger) what other function does this perform?
I am having Ear proximity problems and gyroscope and compass problems, i have read about the calibrate issue but haven't got the option when i do the *#*# thing. I am o2 firmware in the UK with no case or screen protector. Phone well out of warranty so it will be down to me to fix.
Proximity sensor problem arises when it is too sensitive, and the problem of the gyroscope is located on the belt connecting the motherboard to the screen. The tape of the magnetic charge unless nothing else does not. Sorry for my language but I'm not from England.

Thanks for the prompt reply, i have replaced the motherboard to LCD tape, someone before me broke the screen and someone had a go at 'repair' and damaged the cable. The other cable has been removed, the charging one, not sure what the other bits are on the cable though, i haven't got a magnetic charger so not too worried at the moment but looks like there is more than the charger, see this ebay one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Charg...950?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4acce98916
Right flashed a new generic firmware ending .534 which allows the calibrate menu. When calibrating gyroscope or accelerometer i get a -5 error when trying the proximity sensor i get -99 error.
