Strange Memory Card wipe out! - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I posted this thread as to share my experience with the phone and to advise people to backup your files regularly or on a weekly basis.
It all started when I was in an event "Run or Dye". I took my HTC One with me mounted on a retractable pole and adapter, took a bunch of nice photos and recorded videos of the event up until the last recording from my phone went dead. After the event I was still able reviewed my photos and videos but one the video was corrupted (as it did not finish recording the time the battery went dead).
A few days later, I tried reconnect my HTC One on my computer to see if I can salvage a copy of the corrupted video using a video editor, no go.) I was also copying the rest of the images but I wasn't able to do so (copied the folder but empty files), I tried rebooting/restarting my phone and the next thing I know, I opened up my gallery, and my photos were gone (everything including videos/folders/songs) and it wiped everything my phone's storage (32Gb) memory.
From a 8Gb free storage left of music/photos/files it went to 23Gb free. My apps are still installed though. "Strange" I really don't know what happened.
No backups there, that's the worst part, I could've turned on my Dropbox auto-upload, I could've backup my files.. Well it's all too late for that. (Lesson learned!)
Has anyone experience this situation too?

microSD problem?

Ok no idea how this happened so I'm sorry I can't say exactly what went wrong. Last night I noticed that for some reason none of my mp3s were showing up in the library. Was out with some friends so just went on with my night until I tried to use PocketCM Contacts. Some reason it wouldn't load and I had to uninstall it and switch my softkey back to standard contacts. Latter on I realized that everything on my storage card was somehow gone.
In settings - memory it still shows the same amount of file space taken up on the card and I have tried removing it a few times and resetting.
If it's all gone that's ok because I have copies of all the programs I had installed. Only problem really is that I don't think I have the mp3s on my computer.
Was just wondering if this has happened before and if there is a chance the files are still there since the space on the card is still used. I also plugged the phone into active sync and it also shows nothing on the card.
This is a common problem and there are lots of things that cause it. Primarily, it is installing programs on your SD card, and leaving them running and your phone hibernating.
Typically when this happens, a simple soft reset will fix the problem... but I always suggest keeping up to date back ups of your SD card in order to avoid losing all your data.
I'm in a car at the moment using internet sharing on my phone, so I'm not going to find you all the links, but run a search on the site for "Corrupt SD Card" or "disappearing SD card" and you'll find lots of info about it.
Thanks man. Since I lost all my programs I think I'm gonna reflash the phone too. Want to try touch-it out.
man it has happened to me like 3 times on my wing. the first time i soft reset my phone and it worked. The next time i deleted my documents folder because it was showing 2 of them and i lost everything. I formatted the card and it messed up again this weekend. I ended up flashing to the touch it rom yesterday to see if it would make my phone more stable because i read that it might be the phone making my card act up.
I searched for ways to fix it and downloaded programs but they didnt work because my SD wasnt recognized by the programs. I lost 400 songs and ringtones and videos the first time and 500 songs the next. I have all the songs on my cpu but i made them all smaller to save space and that took a while. I dont even feel like putting anymore music on there because i might end up losing it all again.
Just keep contant backups of your card in case it happens... I bought a USB 2.0 card reader Stick thing for like $20... so I can copy files back and forth faster than thru activesync.

Camera storage location, will not save to SD

Anyone else having trouble getting the camera app to save to SD? If I change the storage setting to internal, take a pic, then change it back to SD, and take a pic, it will actually go to SD. Then, I wait an hr, take a pic, it goes to internal even though SD is still selected! Very frustrating. I am on stock rom. I've tried "clear data" on the gallery and the camera app. I also tried, obviously, rebooting the phone. Been having this problem since I got the phone.
Mine works fine. It originally was set to store photos in internal storage but I changed it several months ago and now all my photos and videos go right into the dcmi folder on my sd card.
If the problem persists, I probably contact VZ tech support and talk to them about the issue. Are you rooted? If not maybe just call and get a replacement sent to you...
I seem to have found the issue by accident today. I found the button under manage storage that allows you to move all to sd. On inspection, turns out for whaever reason my internal and external are mounted backwards. If I set camera to store to internal memory it will use dcim on the sd. Also, if I select move all to sd, it takes the stuff from the sd and moves it to internal. Odd. I'm sure this will be solved when ics gets pushed or when I root and put a different rom on. Guess ill just deal with it for now.

Rooted HTC Vivid. Big Mess. Need Help

Ok, just to get this out of the way, I am an idiot.. Many points in this post will verify this fact. I apologize in advance, but sincerely appreciate any help.
So, this issue started badly and has gone down hill from there. I will try to go step-by-step with what has happened and will probably use too many words because I usually do.
To start, I have an HTC Vivid, rooted with the Vivid All-in-One Root Kit V2.2. When I got the phone nearly 2 years ago, I rooted it as soon as I got it out of the box and the root went flawlessly. I am still on stock ICS 4.0.3 and HTC 3.6. I have CWM Recovery 5.5.0.4.
While on vacation last week, my phone was being buggy. Shutting off, taking forever to reboot and once rebooted if you touched in less than 5 minutes, it died again. It has done this in the past but was getting worse. So, Monday night, having just got back from vacation, and utterly exhausted, I decided it was a fine time to move some media files that should not have been on my phone storage to my sd card. I grabbed the DCIM file in ES Explorer and moved it to ext-sd folder. In my tired state, I did not realize I was not moving it to the right area. I fell asleep while it was transferring.
I woke up the next morning and saw some type of notification from ES Explorer, but was running late to get the dog from the kennel, so I dismissed it and ran. While at the vets, I realized my text message tone had reset to default. I went back home and looked and all my vacation pictures and videos from Sunday and all my ringtones were gone. So, I start trying to find my pics and ringtones on my phone and it starts crashing again. At this point, I can't get it to stay on for longer than 5 minutes. I could get the phone to behave if I mounted as a disk drive on my PC, so I copied all the internal and sd files to a folder on my desk top.
After working on things for hours, at my husband's advice, I did a factory reset. I opted to do this from CWM. I thought I had been backing everything up on Titanium (nope, apparently not. I thought I had it backing up all user apps and system data). So, since I didn't have a proper Titanium back up, I reinstalled all the folders from my desktop back to my phone. In the past, when I have done this (long time ago, first phone I rooted, then when changing phones), the phone was restored exactly like it was before. This time, nope.. Several pictures still gone, SIM card wiped of all phone number data (have no idea how), call logs and text messages gone. APP data gone..
I used Disk Digger to find the missing photos and videos which have now become corrupted. (I am hoping to be able to restore them, we'll see). I also found my downloaded ringtones. They were fine.
So, then I start trying to restore my phone to how it was before, but nothing was working. I looked at the files I transferred and can see all the information is in there, but not loading correctly. I had my phone numbers backed up to Google, but even though I had them set to sync, none of the numbers I had on my SIM card were on the Google contacts list. Well, several factory resets and idiot moves later, I have managed to delete a system file or two by mistake. I can't even make a phone call at this point.
Here's what I need to find out:
I know I probably need to reflash the ROM. I want the ROM to remain stock 4.0.3, because I like it like that. I still have the All-in-One Kit and all it's associated files on my computer. Can I run the Vivid All-in-One again starting at a different step since it is already rooted? Can I just go to the "extras" menu and select Flash Factory RUU Zip, or should I do what I saw on this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416836. I have Odin on my PC as well. Should I reinstall from there?
Once I have restored my ROM, is there anyway I can restore my phone to the state it was in Monday night before I screwed everything up. So sorry for the long post, but I figured the more details the better. I truly appreciate any advice. I know I have pulled some seriously stupid mess ups here and just need some help.
ETA:
I found I was backing up w /Titanium correctly, but forgot to mention after ES did whatever it did, my sd card was completely wiped as well. I did not move anything or format my SD card.. Apparently ES or whatever was wrong with my phone did. I had my Titanium set to back up to some cloud, but don't remember the settings.. (Again really, really stupid of me.)

No... Odin is for Samsung phones...
Yea you should RUU...
While your at it... Ditch CWM for TWRP... Even if you don't use recovery all that much...
The only way to put the phone back to where it was... Since you don't have a nandroid backup is to change the settings yourself...

Well, after 5 days of fighting, only after I put my business online for all to see, I found my back up from Titanium!! It had been moved to a subfolder of a subfolder that I had looked in multiple times before. Ran it and phone has been restored including system files. It's back running normally now!
Lessons learned:
Do not decide after vacation and after driving for several hours to move files on your phone. You will mess it up!
Only after you have written an overly long post will you figure out what you did and fix it and feel even dumber than before..
Many, many thanks.
BTW, I am a bigger fan of Titanum than ever before. I can't how perfectly it restored everything, down to what panels I had my different apps on.

Broken image files while shooting with live focus

Have anyone else had this problem? What could be the issue?
YES! I lost like 30 pictures I took at Mt. St. Helens! I was very very very upset. They were there for like 24hours, then boom, all of them turned into your SS. This happened WITHOUT using live focus, for me. I'm not sure whats causing it, but this is my process so far trying to narrow it down:
-Took random picture after I noticed this, and it turned into unreadable file and eventually disappeared all together within 24hours. Pictures are all stored on the EXTSD card on my phone.
-Removed EXTSD Card. (EXTSD is a Samsung 64gig Samsung XC I Class 10)
-Factory reset my phone for a different issue with secure folder.
-Took another random picture, and its still there and readable 18hours later (stored to internal memory)
Im hoping the SD card was just faulty or something because its very worrying to take "once in a lifetime" pictures and have them disappear 24hours later and be irrecoverable. Ill def. be following this thread to see if anybody pins it down.

I changed to a smaller Samsung SD for a while and got to keep all my pictures. Then I changed to a cheaper bigger one and voila - the problem came back.
Did you ever find a way to restore the broken photos?

Nano memory erases itself

I really don't know what's going on here...saturday evening I noticed that some photos were missing from gallery, same thing happened sunday evening...but yesterday the nano memory started erasing itself every couple of hours I lost everything I have in there, with (apparently) no reason.
I made a full reset, nothing changed. No errors while reading the nm card or while copying files on.
I am terribly confused
What size and brand of card is it?
I've had my VOG-L29 for two weeks now and I'm considering which particular card to buy. And which ones to steer clear of....
And I'm sorry, but I have no pointers to what your problem could be.
Original Huawei 128 GB nano memory card...I'm terribly confused, never had a problem like this! I have no strange apps or something that cleans phone automatically, so I really cannot understand what's going on...the card erased itself 3 times!! The last one took place immediately after I've restored everything on my phone, after a full reset.
40 hours later the situation seems stable, but who knows.............

Thank you.
That's not good for an OEM card, I'd understand if it was a cheap ebay one from China.
I have thought about your dilemma and I haven't a clue what could be the cause of random erasure. I haven't read any other similar experiences with a NM Card so maybe yours is a rare faulty one.
Hopefully someone else here may be able to offer advice.
Good luck
I have had the Huawei 256gb card for ages now. It's full of music, photos and music videos and no issues at all.
Is it only photos you're storing on the card or do you also store other documents too? Because if you're only using it for photos and the gallery keeps showing up as empty it may be possible that Huawei Gallery Sync is running and attempting to sync an empty cloud gallery to your NM card.

No it's not just for photos, I had documents, music and app data too...
