hi,
first of all, i want to say that i am not the developer or related by any means to this rom.
I just accidently came across this rom and wanted to share the link to u guys.
Updates-
12.05.2011- v1.85 available through Rom manager.
06.05.2011- Liquid nexusbread ver 1.8
http://liquidsmoothroms.com/node/1
Been running this rom for several days and it's working flawlessly! Love all the options for changing color in the status/dropdown bar, etc. Not sure if these were implemented in CM7.0.2 or not. This rom is really nice, I happened across it on ROM Manager. Lot's of cool features/options and very fast.
I am downloading the rom as we speak. This is very exciting news!
EDIT: This is not the Liquid Metal Tom although I automatically assumed it was. This rom is very fast and the stock browser works almost flawlessly with flash content compared to other roms I've tried. I have my phone overclocked at 1440 Max with the performance governor and I am very impressed at how stable it is. The phone hasn't crashed yet! This might honestly be my daily driver.

I went to high school with the dev of this rom and it was originally made for my nexus s... until I swapped for a G2x. If you get a chance, send him some donations. He's unemployed and could use the support.

Has all the goodies of CM7 and more.
This is a really awesome rom. All of CM7 stuff, plus more. Definitely lots of good stuff here!
why is this posted in a droid/verizon forum? it also seems awful tiny for a rom that supposed to offer as much as cm7.....it's nearly half the size
Pics please
Can anyone post some pics?
Is this better than CM?

The dev had a Droid x and now has a thunderbolt. He made the rom for me but by the time he finished I exchanged my nexus s for a g2x. He's been doing roms for a long time now. Since the og Droid.

just got done with the CHANGES & CREDITS now i m gonna install it
I tried this a while ago. And it seemed nice. But it only had english as language. As i remember the download was only 57mb, so maybe the dev could ad the languages again. So this could be used.
THANKs
another GREAT ROM for Nexus S
Will this rom receive any updates in the future?
Sweet. Will have to try this out ... when I get my phone back from Samsung

This ROM has proven itself far superior to any i've used earlier. Its fluid fast with a exceptional battery life and so many options to mod the ROM.
The rom has been removed from Liquidsmoothroms.com. Maybe theres an update coming.
there are NO gapps included, just a heads up. I believe it said the latest gapps were installed

I've flashed a few custom ROMs + Kernels on my Nexus 7, but I always return to stock. I find stock JB to just be rock-solid, with great battery life.
I've found that most custom ROMs have some tiny issues, and they always bug me. Same with custom kernels. There's always an occasional crash here or there, or some unexpected jerkiness.
But I guess it's always a compromise. If you want features/performance, you'll have to live with bugs/lower battery life. But, being a Nexus, we'll get newer, feature-filled versions of Android right away!
So what about you guys? Do you feel that custom ROMs/kernels are lacking that perfection and finesse the stock ROM has? Or is your custom ROM completely stable with absolutely no bugs?
I love the custom ROMS. No complaints from me. I prefer some version of CM...usually AOKP. They are always upgrading it, so there are some small problems with it at times but I really enjoy it too much to complain or go back to stock. Don't get me wrong stock is very smooth with few problems.

I so agree with the above.. Also your opinion is welcome but due note that these developers are doing this as a community effort for FREE.. They improve our devices give us some things Google decided to leave out. Also im not sure you are aware of this or not . But often you will see some of the So called custom rom stuff injected into future GOOGLE STOCK ROMS... Google does watch the development community and use there code from time to time . My guess is alot more then they would tell...

Cyanogenmod works perfectly on both my phone and nexus 7. It's the best of both worlds really. Clean stock look but with a sprinkle of customization.

pre-Gingerbread --> custom ROM required
post-ICS --> stock is fine
My bootloader isn't even unlocked on my N7 and it's only unlocked on my GN so I can flash updates once OTA or images are posted.
I agree that all the roms are great. My favorite is PA, love that rom. But after a while i just feel like going back to stock. But then its not long before i am back on pa.

I don't like custom Roms on devices that have the latest version of android available. I just root. Adding a custom kernel only makes things unstable.

I agree with the OP on ROMS, I haven't found one "better" than stock yet. Different yes, more/other customizations, yes. But so far not better. Yes, the devs do this for free, and for their own reasons. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't state our preferences. There are kernels that improve the device greatly, running one myself. But I've tried more than half a dozen custom ROMS and none gave me anything that would make me stick with it. Always went back to stock.
Not knocking all the hard work and effort. It's pretty amazing what some of these devs come up with, wish I had the knowledge and skills they have. Might try to pick up some basics, just so I understand more of everything involved with it. But I'm a system guy, not really a software dev.
Keep in mind we are nitpicking, custom features on new code it takes sometime implement them properly. I am rocking stock at the moment with stock recovery just cause Google is moving fast this time of year.
So take any bug with the custom Roms like this, yes it has more features, you may or may not be affected by bugs. If that bothers you then rock stock. Cause once cm hits stable that's when everything usually falls into place.
Just hopefully we can have less people posting silly complaints on in process releases. Go look in the Ubuntu thread, some user is just posting "its slow" or " there is no reason to use this" as if was a final product makes me smh

Heh... I'm NOT in denial.
I haven't used a single ROM in the android development I only used ones from original development. Slim bean, eos, rasbean... all exceptional ROMs. Currently on rasbean and its by far the best for myself. Used trinity and Francos kernel have had better results with Francos, his is just about an optimised stockish kernel.

Nothing better than pure stock Android on a NEXUS device. Period.
It's different on a non nexus Device due to carrier's skins but on a NEXUS device come on people you know there's nothing better than pure stock.

We shoul be lucky we have so many options for our Nexus 7, Stock ROM is rock stable and smooth , and to add to that we have almost 7-8 different custom ROMS which are also stable each with their own features and 3-4 different kernels to play with
I am flashing different ROM every 4-5 days
Play around people thats what I like about Android - complete control of your device and Nexus - quick latest stock updates and lots of custom development
Agreed, I prefer stock rom, but also I like to root it, and change fonts...

I'm not too into the roms in android development either, the ones in original development are pretty damn good though and eclipse Rom is really fast, I was into the stock only phase till 4.1.2 and imo development seem a lot better and roms just seemed actually faster than stock to me, rasbean, eclipse, pa, and bugless beast seem to do the trick for me

I tend to agree mostly because I enjoy having the option. TW has really stepped it up since the Gingerbread version that came stock on the S2. I tend to go back and forth between TW and AOSP. A great option.
The Nexus 7 is a great device. I run JellyBeer because I like tabletui on my tablet. I tend to do less modding now on that device because I play a ton of games on it. I'd rather it just be stable.
I will say this I brought a TW device because I like TW. People buy a TW device and complain about TW I'm like why not just buy a pure Google device instead of flashing a rom to get that pure Google experience.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda premium
It's great we have options. I say whatever floats your boat. But like E, I bought a TW device because I wanted one. My wife had an S3 and I had HTC's. I did all the techie stuff on her phone and grew to like the interface. It's a refreshing change for me being a long time Sense user. And I've been very pleased with it so far. But it's nice to know I can always switch if I get bored with TW.
The device itself, no. There will be near-perfect ports for the TW devices already out there. But if I had the choice of buying either of them at the same price, I'd go with the GPe. I don't use most of Samsung's pre-loaded features.
Sent from my Galaxy S4
I've enjoyed the TW experience and why give up features for the pure android experience?
I came from HTC Sense and pure Android with all the roms I found for my Evo3d, so TW is new to me. I love TW! To me they all do the same crap. I do love all the settings, options and gadgets from TW so I prefer it for now. The only reason I tried non sense roms was for Jellybean and increase speed. With my S4 I don't need any more speed plus I love the funs stuff that came with the phone so I don't see myself installing a different rom unless its the next Android version. Whats the next Android version to come out? Apple Pie or something like that?
The only time I used an aosp rom for a long period was on my hero. I actually preferred sense over aosp and now I am really enjoying tw. I must admit I do notice some lag at times, but no more than any other phone I've had. Also, this is the longest I've ever gone without rooting a phone. I'm considering rooting now just to get rid of some of the bloat I never use.

I've always liked the dark aosp roms and paranoid android but this is the first touch wiz phone I've like the tw on because of the extra features.
---------- Post added at 11:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:19 PM ----------
If someone can get the tw camera ported, that would be sick.
Finally I find people that like touch wiz. As a fellow liker of tw it was sad being in a minority of one
Vanilla may be nice in some aspects, but it gets boring quick. I don't know what specifically, but there were things I couldn't do on vanilla that I could do on touchwiz. I don't know of any, off hand, that I couldn't do in tw but could in vanilla. I don't know if it is an issue now but it used to be that a Bluetooth program, or the emulator program, wouldn't work with a Nintendo controller if it had touchwiz. Haven't used it lately so I don't know if they fixed that. The Dev said that touchwiz wasn't compatible at the time. This was the time of the nexus s 4g.

Sprint doesn't have any pure Google devices.
I'm not a fan of the vomit inducing colors on asop. The lack of ability to customize the phone the way you want without having to resort to play store apps or asop roms is annoying. The horrible camera and phone app reminds me of pre froyo. Settings menu lacks the options to customize and requires too many "clicks" deep into menus to get what you want.

I regularly switch between TW & AOSP. I like them both for different reasons and I change as the mood suits me. I'll say this though - I waited longer to flash an AOSP rom on this phone than I have on any other phone in something like 2-3 years. And that covers a whole lot of phones. Samsung has done great things with TW and I'm legitimately baffled by all the hatred it gets.

I bought this phone for the hardware, and SUPER AMOLED, 5 inch screen. The extras mean nothing to me. I like the snappiness of AOSP/GE. Once you flash CM10.1, you cant' go back to TouchWiz. It just doesn't look right.
Until stock android gets better features, no. Google needs to come up with some cool features like LGs quick memo, floating apps, or video overlay, or Samsung's dual window mode, and pop out video. It's features like that, that actually enhance the android experience. App switching ≠ multitasking anymore. What's the point of all these quad core phones if we don't get use out of them?
Another main thing is google needs to stop giving CDMA users the cold shoulder. Even if Pure devices were worth it, they wouldn't be worth switching companies for.

Maybe YOU can't, but I do all the time. I don't really notice any difference in speed between the two, and my 3g data on CM is just awful.

I'm an aosp guy. For some reason TW is just wrong in my mind. As a Galaxy S4 users go, Sprint users kind of get the shaft on a lot of cool builds but luckily the whole merging business has made that easier to deal with. That said "plain" CM is not enough.I like all the customizing, and man do I spend my time on all kinds of cool features.
I don't really want to flash a ton of different ROMs, but sometimes I want to try something new out. But man there will be an awesome ROM that does EVERYTHING. And then it just fundamentally doesn't actually work. Nobody has that problem but you or the dev tells you its your fault, or someone is telling you not to ***** and use the stable. Backing up flashing settling in repeat.
So I'm on aicp and it works. And well. And has tons of the expected features. Maybe you like what you are using or this doesn't change your mind about how you feel. But man.
Churchey360 has been putting up quite a few ROMs lately, under the radar. And man am I happy right now. Until next flash anyway

yeah man this wasn't in defense of CM, I was actually saying that CM is just not for me because it doesn't have as much features as countless other roms do. And yet, its still way more stable than say, Beanstalk KK (which I LOVED on 4.3, but now doesn't give us prebuilt nightlies and netflix never work), or Vanir (which never worked perfectly, and now doesn't work at all).
Also this wasn't meant to bash TW. I'm very aware of how people swear by it, and if you like it, thats on you. This post wasn't about TW vs AOSP, but how I'm finally happy to have an AOSP rom on KK that I can relax with. Honest!
Definitely did hit the thanks and rated. Unfortunately I'm not able to actually post in the dev forums to tell him.
No..i hear ya.. im not gung ho for either.. i was just saying how in MY past , CM was the shizzil... now today with KK, and even JB, it is HARD to find a flawless CM rom... not CM BASED, but CM itself... same goes with MIUI too.. in the GB and ICS versions, it was neat, now your licky to get it to boot.....But this could all be to the new codes and strings.. not sure.. i wasnt banging any particular rom or dev, just CM in general.. hell im glad somebody here knows what they are doing because if i tried to release a rom, there would be a crap load of BRICKS !

This has always been my experience with CM, from the EVO to the S2, S3, S4, and Note 8. Some of the CM-based ROMs are pretty good, but none are unfortunately as good as TW. Truth be told, I have no issues with TW.
If you want an aosp rom that works out of the box, try SlimKat.
Everything works the way is supposed to, no bugs, and it has lots of options for customization... Just look at the thread , there are not that many posts because everything works, no complaints.
Can't say SlimKat has really filled my needs as much as some others, and for some reason on the S4 the dpi isn't as easy to deal with as it was on the E4GT. But I definitely get the appeal, it's pretty solid.

Yeah, It's not like I haven't tried it. If it was genuinely something I wanted to be into, I definitely would have stuck with it. But I just find AOSP roms to be a more fluid experience for me. TW hadn't shown me any significant advantage.

I am on the same page as op, I DO like TW, but I like customizations more. I've tested most roms out (TW & AoSP based), slimkat is solid.. no issues with that rom at all (aside from theme support). I then tested AiCP, wow, that rom is 100% perfect for me. I am not a heavy BT user so that issue hasent affected me but my S4 will stay on AiCP until theres a TW build that supports all those features

I'm thankful for the devs who are giving their time, but I look for roms with the features I want and need, not by who the developer is. Let's help these guys become "big devs" by supporting their work.
My point is, all of the ROMs available look and function pretty much exactly like stock except they have bugs. Big name ROMs have tons of features and few bugs as well as completely changing up the stock experience. It's a shame, but I'm just going to go back to stock because all of the ROMs out now are (to me) no different than stock and filled with bugs.

Not true, Vision is stock all the way, I just changed the stock look a little, everything works PERFECT. I agree, you start modding the phone with a bunch of non-needed mods that btw, xposed can handle, it tends to have issues. This exactly why I built Vision, for this purpose.
Give it a try. You will not be disappointed.:good:

I don't understand how one can say CM or any AOSP or AOKP Rom are bug free if that was the case then why nightlies? I've flashed MANY AOSP Roms on my S2 S3 and S 4 and never found one "bug free". Now development is just beginning for the AT&T S5 and whether there's a loki exploit or something like it remains to be seen, however, there will be and already are themers and modders working to give us choices.
I prefer T/W for the stability and and really "bug free" experience. Hence no need for nightlies.

I'm looking but I can't seem to find any working big name roms like Cyanogenmod, AOKP, Paranoid Andoid, or Slimbean ROMs for the AT&T s5.
Am I missing them or are they truly unavailable?

I'm curious, what exactly is a "Big Name" ROM? I have been Devin for a long time AOSP, AOKP, CM, SENSE, and currently TouchWiz (which by the way is actually very stable model or not). There isn't even a stock oob firmware without bugs if there was there would be no updates or patches from oem.
I appreciate your wanting a highly themed ROM however, during early stages most devs look to take care of opening things up and enabling what was removed or disabled. Personally I leave the heavy modding and style changes to the themers.
