Simply flash a stock RUU which matches the CID or just use fastboot oem writecid 11111111 to be able to flash any RUU.

if you have S-Off download any RUU and open the .EXE file on your Windows PC, then follow the instruction

Can i execute a ruu of a lower version? And can i do that with 1.54 hboot? When i try with HTC__001 cid the setup wizard give me error this is the ruu i want to flash. RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.7_Radio_4A.13.3231.27_10.31.1131.05_release_310878_signed
Its the correct One?

I've tried with super cid but the result was the same... Any advice?

Try this.
1. Run the RUU and click next but no further
2. Go to your user folder ie C:\Users\Nameofuser\AppData\Local\Temp
3. Search for rom.zip and then copy it to another location on your PC
4. Stop the RUU
5. Reboot your phone into the bootloader
6. Go into fastboot
7. fastboot oem rebootRUU
8. fastboot flash zip rom.zip (will fail the first time)
9. fastboot flash zip rom.zip (should now work)

Did you literally flash everything to get the GE edition as per another thread on the conversion and also did you flash the 4.3 GE hboot?

I flash the zip of the rooted GE 4.3 the same way you told me to do before.
I follow this guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2358781

Probably a good idea to remove your IMEI and SERIAL number from your post but anyway...
Try just flashing the stock rom from this thread using CWM or TWRP and then flash the stock recovery back after.

[Q] SuperCID help? Bricked, S-Off etc

Hi guys, I've looked around for this but have found no answers so far. So I'm looking to unroot my phone, but have had a massive problem when using SuperCID to change my CID to HTC___001 from H3G__001 (Three UK). Instead of changing the CID by using the command, it will say "[SD_ERR] The project doesn't support SD card" Is this because when I used s-off the data was wiped or something similar? Please help the phone is bricked and can access the bootloader and recovery (using TWRP) would it be worth trying to flash a new ROM and try to sort it out? Any help would be welcome and will be thanked for any legitimate suggestion.
People need to stop mixjng up soft bricked and bricked...what fastboot command are you entering?
Sorry, I'm not 100% sure what either one meant, but thanks. The command that is issued is - fastboot oem writecid HTC__001
Anyone else have some ideas? Need to get this fixed quickly! I'm going to try and put a new ROM on it to flash it, and then hopefully I will be able to recover it properly. I have a H3G RUU from the HTCDev portal, but don't know how to put the kernel into a RUU and boot it into the phone, so if someone knows how to do this, it would be greatly appreciated if they could tell me, thank you!
At what point did your phone stop booting (what was the step you took last time it booted)?
Are you using the SuperCID command in fastboot?

Are you sure you are in the right section of bootloader??
It has to say "Fastboot USB"
Try to install the proper drivers on a windows system and go into bootloader (Fastboot screen) and run the command...
If you are able to go into recovery and bootloader, then your device is not bricked.

if you have the system booted into the rom, first you will have to issue the command "adb reboot bootloader". That will take you to the bootloader were you will be able to run the fastboot commands like "fastboot getvar all"
That will give you some information about the device

Flash CMW recovery
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2173863
use this line
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-6.0.3.2-m7.img
Download your rom here:
http://bugsylawson.com/files/file/1056-m7-cwm-nandroid-backup-cid-h3g-001-128771x/
Flash it whit ADB sideload command
that wil work
Also, I recommend you to upgrade the firmware first... Don't have the link now, but you can check on Android Revolution HD topic. On first post, Mike posted a link from where to get latest firmware, make sure to have the right CID, if not, you should follow the revone instructions to get your device S-OFF (it's extremely easy ), just check on the Original Android Development section
---------- Post added at 01:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:34 PM ----------
By the way, your device is S-ON so you're not gonna be able to change the CID until you get S-OFF

Once you have your device unlocked (bootloader unlocked by HTC Developer) you can install custom recovery (make sure to clear the cache from fastboot, can't remember the command now as I have a terrible headache and I'm doing my best trying to remember everything), then you can copy the rom into the SD or sideload the rom and then flash a custom rom...
In order to get SUPER-CID you will require to be S-OFF

[Q] How htc-dev ruu and zip files work?

Hi guys! I have a question...
I was thinking about using a RUU to clean install a stock rom on my one...so, I was at htc-dev site and looked at downloads...
I find: the developer edition RUU, android 4.3 (the last one)...ok, this is the classic RUU, I have to execute it when I'm on "fastboot oem rebootRUU", I'm s-off, it wipes everything and I have the stock firmware and rom...and it's ok...have I got to relock the bootloader?
then....I see, just below, a zip file, as big as the RUU one, but is a zip...what is this? is the zip that the RUU flashes, but for a different use, with the raw method, on the terminal?
and, another one...I looked at the google play edition section...and I founded two zips for each version: one "stock ui" and one "framework support files"....ok, what is this?! isn't there a RUU? what if I want to flash a clean google play edition, with full wipe and stock clean firmware? what can I do with these files?
thank you for listening, and sorry for my bad english

You must have s-off and super cid "11111111" to flash ruu that are not specific to your phone. You do not have to lock your bootloader. Again, you MUST have s-off and super cid! As long as you have those, you can pretty much convert your phone to whichever you want. I always recommend downgrading your hboot to 1.44 before doing this. You need encrypted ruu's to use the "fastboot oem rebootRUU" mode. Remember to flash stock recovery if you want OTA updates. I have never used the .exe files. I converted my att htc one to google edition, then back, then developer, then back. Its really no different than just running roms, but at least you get a new splash screen and bootloader with each.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2358781 This is the google edition conversion link I used my first time converting my phone. if you look at post 2, it shows how to go back to stock "or pretty much any ruu"

What do you mean 'work'? They are used to put the phone back to a factory state, a hard reset if you will. It means you can always revert back to stock should you want/need to send it in for repair
As for GPe files, they are not for flashing and are source files to make your own software

OK that's the answer! GPE files are the source? same for the zip file next the ruu?
No, the RUU and the 1GB ZIP are the same thing but flashed in different ways...
The RUU is your normal, executable program and does everything for you. The ZIP is an RUU but you have to set the phone up to flash it by using fastboot commands. the process is:
1. Connect phone in fastboot mode
2. Run the command 'fastboot oem rebootRUU'
3. Once the phone is at the HTC screen, you run the command 'fastboot flash zip name_of_zip.zip'
4. It will flash the first part and then give an error and you run the same command as above a second time straight away
5. Once the second flash sequence has finished, you the type 'fastboot reboot' and it will reboot the phone and finish the installation
Basic Steps but...
Not worked for me, i downloaded right htcdev rom for my desire c
Waiting for device... is appeared and no way out.
Any Ideas??

There are no more RUU on htcdev.com, these files are kernel source code and not useful to restore your phone. Can you post the output of "fastboot getvar all" (hide your IMEI and serialno), I'll check if I can find something for you.

no, your phone is S-ON and branded to vodafone UK so you can only use RUU for vodafone UK (x.xx.161.x).
1.51.401.1 is for HTC Europe WWE not vodafone.

OK, I need some more information please: did you change MID or CID at any point? cause yours don't make much sense:
1- you're from Holland (ie Europe)
2- you have CID CWS__001, which is ATT US if i'm not mistaken
what do you want your phone to be? European unbranded?

your CID was in getvar: "cidnum: CWS__001"
this means the phone was (unless someone changed it ATT US edition), anyway:
European unbranded: easy enough with s-off:
Holland should be CID: HTC__E11
so first thing, in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB, change your CID:
fastboot oem writecid HTC__E11 (two underscores)
fastboot reboot-bootloader
-> and confirm CID is HTC__E11
then follow my guide POST 1 and POST 2, and you're done. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541082)
use this RUU.EXE: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...1-27_10-31-1131-05_release_310878_signed-exe/
hit thanks if i've helped let me know if you need more help

If you’re on hboot which is above 1.44, then first thing is to downgrade that:
so download this: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/1-29-401-12_hboot_1-44-zip/
in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB, flash it:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip 1.29.401.12_hboot_1.44.zip
fastboot flash zip 1.29.401.12_hboot_1.44.zip <---- just in case the above said “failed flush again”
fastboot reboot-bootloader
--> and confirm hboot is now 1.44
Common downloads for all methods:
download CWM from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2173863
rename the file to CWM.img (careful about .img.img in Windows)
download Guru Bootloader Reset from here: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_bootloader_reset_1-0-zip/ (this is the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2527194)

To update my One (that is S-OFF), I relocked the bootloader and loaded that RUU which put it on 4.3, then let it do the OTAs that brought it first to 4.4.2/Sense 5.5, then the OTA to 4.4.2/Sense 6.0. Then I re-unlocked and rooted it. I run the stock T-Mobile ROM that is rooted and using the ElementalX 14.2 kernel.

A couple of questions, first:
Why (it helps to know what your ultimate goal is)
Do you need to go back to Vodafone or are you OK with unbranded
Do you intend on going S-ON

Thank you so much for getting back to me!
1. Because I've installed loads of ROMS and not one I like or they intend to freeze etc
2. I'm more then happy to go back unbranded as long as I can still get OTA updates
3. Nope

hmm, I haven't had problems with most ROMs I've tried, but to each his own
change CID to international WWE unbranded:
fastboot oem writecid HTC__001 <- two underscores (CID is exactly 8 chars)
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot oem readcid
^^ confirm it now says HTC__001
then you run RUU:
http://androidruu.com/getdownload.p...10.38r.1157.04L_release_353069_signed_2-1.exe
let me know if you have problems with that ruu, in which case you'd need to first downgrade your firmware.
I have a decrypted 1.28 version, that would flash pretty easily, but then you'd have to take a lot more OTA's... if that doesn't bother you let me know and i'll link instructions to it.
Anyway, i'll decrypt the 4.19 version and upload, but that's gonna take more than a few hours to upload.
PS: the RUU, will obviously wipe EVERYTHING off your phone, so backup to PC first, and yes, OTAs will be fine even with unlocked bootloader

in either case check MD5 on the download

yes same same, just two different locations, the file is exactly the same
just a question of which one gives you better download speed... i use a download manager in either case
