The LG G2 is an incredible, and the only thing that would make it even better would be making it waterproof!
As many of you know, there's a company called Liquipel (http://www.liquipel.com/) that waterproofs phones for around $60. It's like lifeproof but without the case!
Here's a video that shows what I'm talking about.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=u_1-riIi0cI
PROBLEM: They won't accept the LG G2 until there is enough "demand."
SOLUTION: Contact them through this link, asking if they would waterproof YOUR LG G2! (even if you don't plan on getting your phone waterproofed, the fact that they are getting requests will encourage them to start taking our phone! It worked with the Nexus 5, it can work for us!)
Steps:
1. Go to http://www.liquipel.com/contact/
2. Select "General"
3. Fill the really short form out and ask "Please waterproof my LG G2!"
I'll fill it out if it helps u out. If they agree to do it maybe I'll waterproof my G2

This was their response:
Hello Taylor,
Thank you for your interest in Liquipel! First, please note that Liquipel is a Watersafe, not waterproof coating, as it is not a sealant and does not prevent liquid from entering the device. It is a preventative coating that is intended to allow devices to recover from accidental liquid exposure, but there is a dry out time required if the device is splashed or spilled on.
The LG G2 is not technically an approved device as our engineers have not performed testing for full approval. Generally we determine which devices to test for approval based on customer demand and we have not received many requests for the LG G2. However, we have treated several of these devices for other customers with no problems. If you would like to have your device treated we are happy to process an order, but please note that you will be required to sign off on the attached waiver form. Also, your device will not be eligible for our warranty since it has not been technically approved.

Why would you do that? That's warring their money making cases for no one

Thank you for your interest in Liquipel! In order for a device to become approved our engineers have to complete testing on the device to make sure that it interacts well with our technology. Because the testing process is costly, we determine which devices to test based on customer demand. Up until this past weekend we had not received many requests for this device, but we received many over the last few days and we will begin testing the device within the next week or so. Please be assured that we will notify you as soon as it becomes approved!

A few weeks ago i contacted at&t to ask questions about the LG Thrill. They responded by telling me that they no longer have the lg thrill in stock because LG has stopped manufacturing the phone ever since they released the LG Optimus 3D Max on the other side of the world. Question is: What phone shall we receive in case something happens to our LG Thrill? I have a 2 year warranty and insurance on my phone. Do they send us a refurbished one or do we get the option to upgrade or choose our replacement phone?

This is a good question for at&t and I believe most of returns on a discontinued product it would be refurbished or an equal device but I have heard many stories about different scenarios

I work for AT&T. The last one I had replaced for someone, they received the LG Nitro.
hmm sounds like a good deal, do the shoppers get to pick their replacement phone or does AT&T just give them the phone?
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda app-developers app
The one I had replaced was an insurance replacement. The site told them that's what the replacement would be, and if they had a problem with it, they would have to call in. I would presume, that even if they called in, the Nitro would still be the replacement.
well i think thats a good upgrade, cause to be honest any phone is better than the lg thrill. At least the nitro has an official ics leak out already
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda app-developers app
I would not get your hopes too high. My dad recently had a replacnent for his OG Evo spent to him by sprint, of which reached it end of life probably about 8 months ago (or longer?), and it was the same phone. AT&T might not be selling them anymore, but you best bet that the insurance company they use has stocked up on them. And usually the insurance companies stock of the phone does not go down because they replace of the phone they send out, they get the customers broken one in replacment and refurbish it. If you want, try it, you will most likely get a refurb thrill
Sent from my LG-P925 using XDA
we have an AT&T worker that says otherwise though soooooo yeah
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda app-developers app
Yeah, I mean I can't speak for Sprint, and (insert this for legal reasons) I can't speak on behalf of AT&T, but I do know the insurance company Asurion says they don't have the Thrill anymore. So they have been issuing the LG Nitro in its place. Which, in my opinion, isn't the best in the world, but it's a 4G LTE phone that operates as similar as you can get to the Thrill.
Asurion or the phone's warranty plan should lets us choose which phone of equal or lesser price we should recieve like : The LG Nitro or HTC Vivid which both cost the same and both are equal prices of the "Thrill"
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda app-developers app
Can't argue with that, but can also see it from their standpoint. It's by the same manufacturer, and it was one of their next phones released after the Thrill. If they let people choose their replacement, it would get ridiculous. I say that from a sales rep pov.
You should hear some of the ridiculous crap that comes out of people's mouths when they come in after they break their phones and want a replacement. A lot of the time I swear they did it on purpose to try and get a different phone.
all i know is that in the next few days or week imma have an HTC Vivid or the LG Nitro
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda app-developers app
Do you just want one of those phones or something? Or do you have to file a claim?
Edit: Read the original posting, I'm assuming something is wrong with your thrill?

My friend and I got our nexus 7 about a week apart at different Walmarts. While I was installing some apps on his that I thought would be useful, I noticed some very slight differences.
The one that stood out the most me was that his volume rocker and power button were more crisp than mine. Every time you pressed it, there was a snap back and an actual click sound, while with mine, the feedback is more mushy and doesn't make a noise at all unless I attempt to find a sweet spot for it lol. Also I noticed the aluminum bezel on his was much more angular to where you could almost scrap your skin with it , where as mine was more rounded. His screen would also shut down and wake up about a couple milliseconds before mine every single time. I chalked it up to him having less apps possibly.
Hope this doesn't come off as complaining cause I LOVE my nexus 7 and its flawless, no screen lift or anything. I just was wondering if anybody else noticed such discrepancies.
my power button is mushy but my volume rockers are perfect...also got mine at walmart
I got mine on initial release from google store and my volume and power buttons do make a clicking sound when they are pressed and they snap back well, no mushiness

Yes, I noticed the difference in buttons. I've had two nexus 7's. One with great buttons and the other with mushy buttons, especially the Power button, that almost sticks to the point where a normal press and release of the Power button triggers the Power Off option instead of just turning off the screen.

True... but there are manufacturing defects. 723 votes in the defective from store poll and over 500 votes in the type of defects poll. I know this is very small percentage, but these are active users on XDA excited about their new device and having problems, defects and seeking help.
Its a brilliant device no doubt, but I still think many here are waiting for its 3rd or 4th generation builds. I personally don't have the confidence (nor bandwidth) to chase a defective unit. Going to wait until March next year...
Worse thing is there is no official response from either GOOG or ASUS about the manufacturing defects, nobody has any idea exactly if there is an improvement in the new builds or its trial an error still. I cannot wait to get mine, but have decided to wait.

I for one had a love/hate relationship with my Thrill. Loved it at first....hated waiting for the updates....but over all the phone has been GREAT! I rooted, but kept the stock ROM. Just froze some bloatware. Recently updated to ICS...LOVE IT! I would like to root again to get Tethering and to re-freeze apps, but so the solutions I am finding are too convoluted for me. I want something as simple as it was to root with GB using Megatron Exploit.
My contract is up in a month. I am definitely considering the Optimus G. Not a fan of the S3 form factor. Feels like a toy and don't like the rounded edges.
I love my Thrill but LG and ATT seriously upset me when it comes to updating. And the tools necessary to to modify this phone are ridiculous. Not so bad now that I have tinkered with things, but it look a long time to figure it all out. This phone would be junk if it were not for the few brilliant developers we have that took the time to work around LG's crap. I will probably never buy an LG phone again. I want something with over the air updates and I want to purchase it from a company that actually concentrates on the phones that are already out. Don't even get me started on things like cases and invisishields which you can't even find anymore at places like Best Buy, etc.

I will never ever get another lg phone. The device itself is not bad, the issue is the service from lg themselves. Its nonexistent worst support ever. Im def going to another company when my 2 years is up.
I don't think I would probably go with a samsung s3 or s4 maybe a nexus. I would like to have an sd card though so the nexus probably wont happen. I dont even know what phones lg have out so I do like this phone though plus for a 100 buck and no data plan can't really beat it.
I've never seen such a laggy device. It's bizarre.

They really had no say so in what happened with ICS.
Part of it was AT&T's wrong doing by cutting the contract with LG for a while. They had to renew it before any decision to release another firmware/software was developed.

Yeah, won't happen. They've gotten smarter. I remember something coming out earlier this year too and I think I saw one person actually get out of their contract. No one else was able to.
For me, it's not really worth the time. I have the best phone on the market and my area is getting LTE within the next couple months. I'm happy.
The deal isn't even sealed until Wednesday. Doing anything now is pointless. And surely not worth legal action in any case.

Maybe it"s a factor to some, but idc if it's 2 dollars or 2000, cant stand a thief. I can understand the not bothering part as well, if you ever recover the price it will have cost you even more.
