THIS TUTORIAL IS ONLY FOR HTC TOUCH DIAMOND - NOT FOR DIAMOND2 / TOUCH PRO / HD2 ( This is simply because i don't have these devices with me and that i haven't tested! Those who have a spare handset are welcome to send it to me for diagnosis )
Let me get straight to the point. I’ve found out the solution to all the screen blackouts or the famous “microp error”. I’m sure no HTC so called Technical department could solve this.
I’ve been sitting 40Hrs straight with my HTC Diamond. ( The worst part is removing the screw’s and putting them back.)
THE PROBLEM –
1.It’s a hardware problem. Upgrading the microp.dll will not solve anything. ( Microchips gives really wired errors)
2.SYMPTOMS : A dialogue box showing “ Microp version 0 , Upgrade firmware “ (as far as I can remember) , dim or no backlight , no charging indicator , No backlight for physical keys , no touch sense (D button) , soft reset button non responsive..
3.EARLY WARNINGS: (a). If u have dropped your HTC diamond , then there is an 87% chance of this happening. (b.) Exposure to extreme cold/heat. ( if it’s a heat issue then u might need to replace the motherboard.)
THE SOLUTION
I don’t have a cam to record the entire event. But there is a YouTube video of an HTC dissembling. I’ve downloaded the video and put captions in it so that it would be clearer. Video will be uploaded soon.
Diamond de-assembling video - http://bit.ly/bxtcw0 (some Chinese guy , thanks dude)
PROCEDURE
When you remove the back cover , you’ll see
1.The battery
2.Sim card holder
3.Tons of screw’s
Remove all the visible screw’s.Remember , your warranty will get void if you have one!! This tutorial is for ones without warranty. Take a look at this picture :
http://www.twitpic.com/1cymw5
Remove the screw's shown above..
Next Locate the below chip.
www.twitpic.com/1cynw4
This chip is the main cause for the screen problem. This chip wen taken out has 2 connectors beneath it . These connectors wen gone loose causes the screen problem. It will take a few hours to just get them in place. ( HTC need to improve in build design)
www.twitpic.com/1cymhp . ( 2 connectors ) take out all the stickers if you want. Less annoying ..
Press it with your thumb (HARD) to ensure that they are in place. You can hear the click sound if you switch off your “Room” fan. Once this is done , put the battery without replacing the rest of the parts . ( All connections connected ) .. Try to turn it ON. If it doesnt , try again . Again it doesn't turn on then try again. Keep on trying. I'm sure that you'll get it working. IF it does turn on , please post reply's.
NOTE : Make sure that you connected everything back ( Very IMP) . For those who cannot take the chip out , I recommend you to watch a youtube video on how to dissemble an HTC diamond.

I was wondering what went wrong d day wen i rebooted my device.
I was screwed with an error message "microp error please update ur firmware"
googled a lot before ending up with team XDA.
came to know its a software problem, i cleared storage, updated a rom but nothing worked. finally i read xda instructions, i went to d nearest mobile store n explained everything. (since i dont have tools to disassemble my device at home) d service man did d job n i got my htc diamond working !
he just charged 100 rupees, htc service center wud have definitely asked much more than that !
thanks to xda ! but d lesson i learnt is "NEVER DROP/THROW UR HTC"
----------thank you----------

Hi Siddharthsai,
I have a screen problem but a bit more unique. The touch screen can work for a while if I leave it alone but after using the phone for a while, the screen does not work. If I were walk around with the phone, the screen will not work.
The buttons all can work and the phone can function for programs that can be controlled by the buttons. I am wondering if the problem is the same as yours in terms of connection problem.
Appreciate your advise on this.
Thanks.

Have you tried Hard reset? Hold down the volume key and press the reset key and power button . Backup your data using PIM backup before doing this... let me know if its coming again..waiting for your reply.
I have done the hard reset using the volume down/enter and reset button. I have reached the screen where I have to press on the cross hair and is stuck here as the touch panel is not able to click on the exact spot as it is always clicking to the bottom left. The same thing happened when I tried hard reset using "clear all data and format" but have to wait for a while until the screen can work.
After that the screen problem came back again. Any other suggestions?
Thanks.

Sorry for the late reply. had some work.
Is you battery low? just turn off your device and charge until its full . this happens mostly when you use duplicate charger . try charging with htc original charger ( borrow it from a frnd ) ...charge it fully and hard reset. Tell me if it works... by the way are you having an Indian version of diamond? ( 2G) ?
Let me know.
RE:
Flash it with a new ROM and if it still persists , then its a hardware prob. do you still have warranty ?
man you are the bomb. many thanks for this tutorial
@ above
Thanx buddy. its not just me , its everyone in XDA ...we all rock
Guess what! My problem is solved. Did a hard reset yesterday but was stuck at the cross hair allignment as the screen was not responding. Left the phone overnight and could complete the allignment the next morning. After rebooting, the touch screen was jammed again.
Try flicking the screen with my finger a few times and managed to move from page to page and after flicking many times, the touch screen recovered and has been OK for the past 10 hours.
Guess one of the solutions for those who have intermittent problem is to flick your screen top and bottom. Guess the pressure must have connected any loose joints. I am a happy guy today )

Thats good to hear... see ... if you try , you can..congrats.
I have a HTC Touch Pro 2 and I am getting the Microp error. The phone is not covered by warranty so looks like I may have to attempt to fix it myself.
I notice your tutorial deals with the Diamond - Any idea how to fix a Touch Pro 2?
@ above
Bro . Microp error comes because of the connectors. Since this is a slightly bulky , twice as big as diamond and has a slide out keypad , i suggest you to take it to a guy who knows to remove and fix things back.. ( not service center ) .. he'll charge you probably 200-300 bucks...just tell him to reassemble it back. Let me know...

HTC Touch HD microp error solved

Hello during the last week my I9000 try to do something weird, after trying a regular cellular call the screen freeze , there is time that android debuger report on android.phone that hang or crash .
like 99% of ppl i thought its my rom , so restock it via ODIN to the stock kernel & rom , and supprise still the same problem but without reporting , its just hang on black screen during call , so i tried to open and clean it little bit (he looked new inside) the alcohol didnt help .
he didnt wet or something and after all my tests 100% its not a soft problem .
any idea what to do ? (if reball / reflow needed ill try to do myself i've the equipment) and out of warranty , so before buying new one ....
Thank for all the advices ppl !
didnt mention it but ..
the cellular call is work and i can hear the voice and speak , but all the phone process stuck or crash , try more than 5 ROMS and 3 kernels (not including stocks)
Right.
First of all - I have no idea which ROMs you have tried yet. but, phone.apk crash WAS popular some time ago...
As I never experienced it - I have no personal experience (but I have good will, once per year ) so...
If I'd be you - I would dig this forum for phone.apk crash, using search button... and I'd Start from here
Good luck
Thank you..

HI,
My HD7 keeps resetting itself at random times and its driving me insane. I have tried different apps to see if its that and no joy, new case to stop the chance of overheating its happened about 20 times in the last 4 months. My question is would replacing the motherboard help and if so where would I learn how to do this? I have changed the screen already so I would be willing to take it apart.
Thanks
It's absolutely a possibility that it could be due to a faulty hardware issue. The problem is that there are many reasons that can cause the device to randomly reboot.
Anything from -
Software - apps/XAP's, tweaks, registry changes, WiFi, OS version and radio version
Hardware - Faulty motherboard, SD card, worn parts and broken/damaged soldering joints.
Was the problem with the device rebooting present before or after you changed the screen? If the problem wasn't present until after you changed the screen then it's possible that there is a bad connection of some sort in the device.
Also what OS version is the device on and are you running a custom rom on it?
The actually disassembly shouldn't be much different from when you replaced the screen other than you have to separate the motherboard.
If you've exhausted all other possibilities and are pretty sure it's the motherboard and want to change it take a look a this thread and there is another external link in the thread too -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1585872
Here's a video that will give you an idea on the disassembly -
http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=4UBCFsMDTGA&desktop_uri=/watch?v=4UBCFsMDTGA
Ok thanks, so I had the phone from new, unlocked but using the 3 network. It started before I had even dropped the screen and put a custom rom in it, I was in a very hot country when it started so it might be slight heat damage. I have looked at the links and have now added them to my favourites. Although there is no direct link to a complete ribbon breakdown I am sure I can do it. Thank you for your help and once I have tried all aspects I will report back thanks.
Like me
I used the phone without the SIM card, no reboots or locks and reboots.
I'm using SIMs from a carriers using 850MHZ and 900MHZ all gave me reboots and locks, before the "solution" I used a 1900MHZ SIM with no problems (??? weird!!!)
Since the solution, I use my SIM without problem,
What I did:
1- Take the SD card and format it with sector check (long format) to see if there's a problem there, also give me manufacturer, capacity and class, if the card has it. Mine is a Sandisk 16GB Class 4
2- Raise a little the antenna connectors (2 copper fins near the sd card), BEWARE!!! they are FRAGILE!! if you break them (like me), you'll have to get some copper fins and use soldering iron (like me).
Believe me, I'm using my HD7 with no problem since then...
any question, here I am...
I have the sam reset problem but in one way. Yust if i use a Data connection to go on web. After random time, my HD7 start to restart itself. No warming or something else (mean overheat) of a phone.
What it could be? I am desperated
P.S. Problem starts when i am bricked my phone and went to "service" to do a JTAG flashing of it.
At first time after JTAG my phone warming up at a bottom of a phone (where an sd card settled and antena) ans start to reboot after Data connection enabled. After my complain to service they opened them again and told me there are all clean inside and after that my HD7 not wrming up but stil random reset after Data connection on web (HSPA+).
Any advice please or to throw my HD7 in garbage .
thx

Hey guys , i bought the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0' from thailand this is the full Specs:
On the box stated : SM-T715YZDETHL
in the about menu stated : SM-T715Y
Build Number : MMB29K.T715YDXU2BPJ1
T715YDXU2BPE3
android 6.0.1
- i didn't touch it , just update (no root nor anything alike)
the first time i opened the device ( which was sealed ofc ) it had a issue that some texts got dissapeared (you see like W lc om instead of Welcome and some more stuff like that) , black covers layers of the screen some times and a few more strange stuff.
i cannot send it to services of thailand because i dont live there nor around there.
once updated to 6.0.1 seems like the first problem solved but i still cannot play any 3D Game (it just crash on start , also i get poor results on some benchmark tests) , seems like an hardware issue but i wanted to make sure its not a software issue.
i wanted to install an english version or internetional version 6.0.1 android but cannot find any info on it. and not sure about the thai version i have.
so , what roms can i flash ? , do i need to do bootloader unlock first or something like that ?
thanks alot guys - you guys are my last hope...
well.. now it wont even charge.. (it's just giving a Red X icon on the battery while connected to the charger (all original and came with it!)
it started 2 minutes after i added a new SIM Card somehow ..
i tried 4 diffrent chargers (which works on other phones and tablets).
cannot burn a new rom because the usb wont regonize even in Download mode.
any idea ?
(i tried to blow air inside the charge pin and clean it.. all stayed the same sadly..) .
thanks guys.
Jesus..
well got past the NO Charge/USB problem.
and also rooted my device.
