Hi everyone.
I created this topic because I don't know what to do with my ones camera. I think that I should send it for warranty repair but I wanted to ask your opinion. The pictures I take always... well in 90% shots turn out blurry at the bottom and mostly in the lower right part of the pictures. What do u guys think?

If you are sure that ur focusing the camera properly before taking the picture, and the issue still occurs, then its definitely a camera defect. Sending it for repair would be ur only choice.
BTW, do you have the purple camera issue in low-light environments?
Well not really. I made one picture recently that had pink color but I suspected that it was environment issue (orange lights all over the place )
About the focusing issue. Well I uploaded 5 pictures to give better perspective but only one is showing up. Don't know why. Anyway its always blurry when I take landscape shots. No matter what I do the bottom of the picture is blurry unless I focus on something that's on the bottom.
Take a look at this picture. Focused on the bike. It's all sharp from the top to the middle of the picture. The lower right corner is blurry and it's happening every time.
Pic with the bike.

Mine has exactly the same issue after around 7/8 months, all of a sudden. Sent back to HTC for repair and they have been real scumbags. They stated "Non-warranty damage" without saying what, which is basically bull****. The phone has always been well looked after with no abuse/drops etc. They wanted GBP170 to replace the mainboard and there are no options for discussion. I declined, so I now have a phone with a useless camera. Will not buy HTC again.

Thx guys for response. I actually don't have the issue anymore because.. I sold the phone I thought it would be too much hassle to explain everything to HTC and I will probably end up just like Joe. Frustrated! So instead I bought a new phone and so far very happy. Moto X is my new baby)

Moto X is a nice phone, but they are two totally different phones.
I'm from London, I have my phone booked in for pick up tomorrow it's going to Poland for 'purple tint' camera issue.
It's only 1 week old the phone, I hope they take good care of it and the screen comes back untouched the way it is now.

Hey guys has anyone been having issues with their camera? My boyfriend's HTC One when in low light it has extra noise that shows up in the picture its a blob like film looking thing. It's also visible with full light but its not as noticeable. If look at the right hand side of the photos it looks like a cloudy object overlaying the photo.

First choice should be your carrier, AT&T, as they should be able to get you a replacement the quickest. If you go through HTC, you will have to send it to them and they would inspect and decide if it warrants a replacement.

Hello, I have seen that my htc one screen have a light leak on the op of the screen, I thought that is a problem of my HTC One, but I have seen in internet that many Ones have this problem, so Can you see that your one have this problem?
Images:
PD: It is visible only in light colors or white.
Thanks and sorry for my english.
According to you (and maybe the other ONE user) I think I'm lucky because my screen doesn't have this issue..
but I got two deadpixels in less then a month since I bought it
it's called backlight bleeding, i have that too, there is nothing you can do about it..
I have spoken with HTC Chat and they say me that I can send the One to the SAT, but I am worried because I have seen another One in a shop of my city which has the same problem.
Thanks
Anyone has this problem too?
Idon't have this issue. Good luck

New photo:
I have that too, it looks the same, even the same pattern (two gaps where the sensors and camera is).
But to be honest, it is not noticeable at all, only when looking at bright colors from a high angle. Maybe the level of bleed varies from unit to unit, and if it's bothering you very much then RMA it.
Don't get me wrong, I am very picky about this kind of stuff, If I found a single badpixel I would go bonkers over it. However looking at what kind of issues people are having with their Ones I wouldn't complain at something like this.
Reported here as well, but my One is fine

You are looking at a shallow angle at the edge of the screen.... do you see this when you look at the screen straight on..... if not then there's no problem.

Not really, but compared to the other side, it is quite bad!
planning to buy this phone but i am afraid that i will catch one with a bad camera (camera creating purple/pink tint for the indoor pictures)
i read some forums and i don't know if its a software problem or hardware...the main problem is that i will buy new in the box sealed but with no warranty..... somebody can help with an advice
the statistic is making me worried :http://forum.xda-developers.com/poll.php?do=showresults&pollid=14531

Many phones got this problem even after sending it back to htc for fixing. Nobody really knows if its software or hardware sided.
I would recommend Nexus 5 instead. If you think that camera will be an issue than please don't take the risk. It's your hard earned $600 that you are spending. Go for the maximum utility, satisfaction. If low light camera capability is important for you, this phone is not worthy of a phone.
Written from a user who has this issue, and had no success in getting it fixed via HTC.

Bottom line this is the best phone ever made. Most cameras are fine just check everything out when you get the phone. 4.3 update is rolling out. Get a good case like Otterbox Commuter and a screen protector. Use Nova launcher. Here is my homescreen

to check you camera make a small (3-4 mins) full hd video and after try to take a picture on low light conditions
I bought my phone in May and by July it started developing the purple tint. While it's not guaranteed that you will get the purple tint, there have been lots of people who do.
Don't get me wrong. I still love my One especially for the Boomsound and LCD display. But I can live with the camera issues cos I use several phones concurrently so I just use another phone if I have to use the camera.
Ultimately it's your call. But my advice is pay extra for the warranty. Especially for this model. Cos if you start getting problems, without warranty you will have no recourse.

100% sure it's software, most phone I have had have had purple/pink or greenish tones in some circumstances which could be corrected with whitebalance settings. My one had purple pictures too after 422 upgrade but now is fine again after 4.3 but maybe not sensor are 100% the same and it might take a little more tweaking by htc to get it right. The One is the best arounfd 5 inch phone out there by a long shot, sense rocks, boomsound, I couldn't live without it anymore, zoes are awesome, the live gallery, blinkfeed. All in all the One is so much better than the SGS4, only if you wany a phablet I would consider another phone.....

Hi, why is my HTC one camera taking such bad photos in low light situations, it's like there is a cloudy affect over all the photos, the lens is clean and it's fine in normal light conditions, I've attached a few attatchments to show what they are like, I've tried searching the forums but no one seems to be having the same issues as me, is it a hardware fault or software issue? Any help would be great, thanks

I had that exact sort of issue with purple wavy haze like yours (especially when the phone was warm it appeared to happen quicker) - basically check this forum for all relating to the camera tint issue: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317507
I believe it to be a hardware issue, I managed to exchange mine for a september build which is better

Looking at both pictures the discoloured areas appear in the same place despite the pictures being taken with different views. This tells me there may be an issue maybe with the lens itself rather than the camera. Not a solution, but may help in figuring out your problem. I'm guessing you have tried cleaning the lens with a soft lint free cloth?

Yeah your right there, even when I move the camera the cloudy effect stays in the same part of the screen. Yeah ive tried cleaning the lense as well as I can with still no long. I have the same issue with my last two HTC's.. It took a lot of patience and saying NO to HTC to give me another refurbished one, but a new one. Finally HTC came to the party after about 4 week of trying. I should have my new replacement phone next week.
Hi,
I went to Sprint and talked to them about my defective HTC One (purple camera tint). They said that since they couldn't replace the camera, they ordered me a refurbished one. Now, I paid full price for my current NEW One and I was wondering if I could argue with them to have them give me a new One instead of a refurbished one. Or is it even worth it to get it replaced? I'm not sure if the purple tint is a software or hardware defect so Idk.
Thanks

EDIT: I bought my One from Best Buy if that matters at all.
Does your camera always have a purple tint to it, or just in low-light settings? For example, my phone takes petty good pics in near-perfect conditions, but does get a purple tint in night time picture taking. To me, that says it's a software issue and not necessarily the cam itself. I COULD BE WRONG(before the flamers come out of the woodwork). There is a lot of back and forth around here about our camera and its issues. But, my opinion is that if you have trouble EVER getting a decent picture, than you should go to the trouble of getting a new device(whether you accept a refurb is up to you - I can understand being pissed about a refurb). If you take reasonably good pics except at night or other low-light conditions, I think it's probably just the low quality of the cam and not a defect. But, that's me. Others can and probably will say otherwise.
I sent mine to HTC to get the camera replaced and now the camera is perfect so it is definitely a camera issue. I work midnight shift so I snap plenty of pics at work and I no longer have the purple tint issue. They have about a 2-3 day turn around time so about a week total. Your best bet would be to just call HTC and they will send you a free Fed-ex label to ship the phone to them, because the refurb could have the same issue. Oh and the camera takes great pictures in low light once you get the camera replaced, crystal clear!

Mine has the same purple haze on low light conditions, I'm running stock w goodies One 1.18 (4.1.2). I have the geeksquad insurance with best buy and i was wondering if I should return the phone to stock before I take it in. By the way I just got a termination letter from sprint for excessive roaming and weighting my options before I connect my line. I love my HTC one but since I'm probably moving to T-Mobile by the end of the month and with this camera issue that several people are having I'm probably going with a Note 3 or a Nexus 5.
