That application keeps freezing in my tab whenever it reaches 3D effect benchmark.
App keeps asking for permissions before testing device, yet all my permissions are selected.
BUMP! Keep getting this prompt but ALL permissions are enabled WTF really? See screenshot

After quick view from some website , I found that the MSM7200 which is assembled in Kaiser is faster than Samsung 400Mhz and 500Mhz Processor.
Samsung 500Mhz(P3600i), Samsung 400Mhz(Dopod D810),TYTN II(MSM7200)

Below is my summary of the test statistic above.
CPU Index
SAMSUNG 400Mh - 13XX
SAMSUNG 500Mhz - 14XX
MSM7200 400Mhz - 15XX
Graphics Index
SAMSUNG 400Mh - 9XX-12XX
SAMSUNG 500Mhz - 12XX
MSM7200 400Mhz - 3XXX
According to the statistic, seem the MSM7200 is faster than the Samsung 400 and 500Mhz CPU £¬ especially Graphics Index¡£ But in real world , how come it is underperformance and slower than 838Pro ? especially gaming , video and Emulator . Is the software optimization issue? direct draw issue or the test results are fake?

Who knows what exactly these tests are actually testing. Everything, but the msm7200 devices, are certainly using their ATI chips.
Didn't MSM7200 had like a duo core type of working???
And cause not working 100% is cause of lack of drivers. But will be fixed end March.

The driver is not a driver to enable ATI imagion.
Hopefully the new "Driver" can much improve 2D rendering performance for gaming , video and WM GUI.
I haven't been using my stone for a while now, but upon running latest Quadrant I was kind of surprised by the low CPU score of only 348. I clearly remember getting more on this benchmark.
Can anyone post some screenshots of their stones (or droids) and the ROM they are using?
I am using CM 7.2.2

I'm also using CM7.2.2 with 2nd boot and 512MB swap partition
Code:
swap on swap off
Similar overall score - but totally different CPU and I/O ratings.
Strange...
Edit:
Result on the right side taken without swap partition.
Seems to really impact I/O
Yeah swap is great. You can even run more demanding games since this old PowerVR can still put some decent performance. I tried NOVA1, PES 2012, Dead Space and Temple Run. They all run great compared to my Xperia mini pro. The only difference is the occasional lag from swapping, but I think class 10 card will improve on this. Will try later.
I ran the Antutu benchmark and I got very low FPU score while the CPU score is normal. I thought maybe its some glitch with the latest CM7 so I flashed 4 older version, but no improvement. So far I tried 7.2.2, 7.2.1, 7.2.0 and 7-20012007. Its all the same. Its not only the score that worries me its also the choppines when scrolling through home screens, when entering drawer etc. Something is wrong. I will try stock rom later and I will try to change the OR maybe it has something to do with it.
That FPU score is probably normal. I get the same (159-162) on both CM7 and CM10. On CM10 2D rendering gets low scores - about 280 while on CM7 it is over 400. Database score seems low. On CeBits results CPU is low, I've been getting over 1300 (on quadrant) on both CM7 and CM10 (stock (kabaldan's stock) overclock values).
Done and done. I flashed vulnerable CFT with RSD Lite, formated the SD card, reinstalled OR3.3 and flashed the new CM7.2 with swap support. Its fine now. I don't know why it didn't fix itself with reflashing CM7 roms, but it didn't. Maybe it was the old OR that was causing problems I don't know.

Do you know if it modifies kernel or interferes with setCPU?
I sent them a message about it, let's see what they say.
No it don't mess with kernel, I also don't think it adjust cpu frequency as I think it would need root permission, which this app don't require.
Sent from my HTC One X
yepp, I installed it, and looks like what it does is that it organises when apps connect for sync and update, which sounds really good, and others don't do that.
yep, they said:
Thank you for your enquiry.
BatteryGuru does not modify the kernel or CPU settings in and way.

The only problem is the gouvenour and its power managment. Asphalt 7 needs for graphic power for example .... but the govenour interactive dont rams the clock to max for powersaving so it isnt smooth. With changing to performence EVERY lag is gone So i createt profiles that i have interactive for powersaving and when i start games i have performence
Just a tip

So, as we all know, our beloved Optimus 4X HD can get really hot after heavy (or even light some times) usage. Being "inspired" by this guy, I wanted to investigate and find out:
-how much impact does thermal throttling have on our performance
-how much does Screen Brightness affect the thermal throttling
We have all seen the "Can not increase Screen Brightness due to high temperature" message on Stock. Did LG have a good reason for restricting us on that?
Finally, once I started doing the first runs, I noticed some really unexpected results... So, I tried to deepen even more and try to figure out if:
-the battery percentage impact the performance
The testing procedure was the following:
I kept running the Geekbench benchmark repeatedly for 30 minutes and taking note of the Multi-threaded score.
For the first set of runs I had the brightness decreased to Minimum. Then I charged the phone to 100%, left the device untouched for about 10 minutes (in order to cool down) and ran the test again with the Screen Brightness set to Maximum. Finally I did the same tests with the battery around 50%.
During the tests my Optimus 4X HD was:
-CyanogenMod 11 - Snapshot M10 (Android 4.4.4)
-No custom kernel
-Fully charged (1st go)
-Half charged (2nd go)
You can see the results on the following graph:

You can clearly see that battery level actually has more impact on the performance than temperature.
What questions does this answer?
Yes, Optimus 4X HD does throttle(as if we didn't already know that). Yes, screen brightness does matter. Yes, the device is faster when it has more juice left.
So guys, what do you thing about all this? Does throttling matter to you? Did you get different results on a different ROM/kernel? Do you think that buying a new battery would actually improve the performance of the device?
