[Q] SRS WOW FX on the HTC One - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello there!
I am a happy owner of the HTC one, and love it dearly. However, there's that little 'jem' called beats audio sitting on top of those amazing dual frontal BoomSound speakers. This, needs yo stop. I had SRS on my HTC Desire S and loved it, but beats, not so much.
I was looking round in the system/lib/soundfx folder when I came across a file called "libsrsfx.so" indicating to me that my phone did indeed have SRS libraries included in the firmware.
Could anyone tell me how to activate this and turn off beats by 'Dr.' Dre?
Many thanks,
JJE990
PS: My device is non-rooted stock sense 5.5 running 4.3 Jellybean.

[Q] Disabling HTC Sense

Anyone know of any ways to disable as much of HTC sense as possible? I have installed ADW launcher cause I much prefer a cleaner look/feel to my device, but that crazy pull down notification area and the constant nagging to authorise HTC on Facebook is becoming a nightmare!
Wait for someone to release a cyanogenmod rom. After you've s-off'd and rooted of course. Apart from that not much you can do, mate edit some build.prop if your experienced in that kind of thing.
Well you gotta ask yourself, why buy a HTC with sense if you dislike the software!... should have went for nexus s, SGS2 etc.
If you root and wait for a cyanogen 7.1 rom, that will disable beats by Dre and it will not work the same if it is managed.

I asked myself.... The reply was... I liked the hardware and knew the dev community would be up and running soon producing some top notch bloat free software. In the meantime, I have found that removing my details from accounts avoids the annoying Facebook prompts. Oh, and I also got some free Beats solo headphones in the box... Bonus! As for the Beats - it's simply a custom tuned equalisation which can be done on any software.
HTC supports unlocking now... unlock that baby and put on the ROM you want!

New XL Owner, but did I make a mistake

Sorry Mod, I couldnt see a Q&A Section ...
Hi Guys
Ive just bought an XL and it looks really great, however, I decided to look up reviews and not Im not so sure:
My XL is pre-owned but perfect condition, but no beats audio headphones in the box, and I have 48 hours too play with it or change my mind, they did have XE in stock as well, so i could change it.
Im running 403, with sense 236, software 2.31.401.2, and I read:
http://www.techradar.com/reviews/phones/mobile-phones/htc-sensation-xl-1039226/review#articleContent
but they are running GB 235 on theirs.
- So has it been improved since 235,,
- did i make a mistake.

We as owners can tell you many things. But the truth is, that you must decide what to do and which one are you atracted to ( phone not woman ).
XE has better dev section for sure. Specifications you can read all arround the internet. When i bought mine i was gone for the XE actualy. But when i saw them together it was a hard choice man i gotta tell ya . But that is just a phone not a wife you are taking
Btw don't worry about the beatsaudio earset. It is overrated. Any Sennheiser or in my case Marshall earphones are far far ahead.
It is a tough choice but you got to make it.
Good luck
I have had both the XE & XL and i felt the XL was far smoother. Although if you want to use your phone for gaming, i would go with the XE.

Thanks to you both for great replies and the nice humour.. hehe.
Like both of you, I actually did try the XE in the store and to be honest, I thought it was quite laggy in the Menu screen and apps, but a factory and Dalvik cache reset might of cleared that, but it was the screen that sold me.. lovely on the XL but dull and lifeless on the XE. I also researched a bit on XE vs XL and the Videos and Tests arent that different, maybe 1 or 2 seconds speed differences.
After reading around and what you guys have said, Ive decided to keep the XL, Its also quite stylish .
cheers guys

[Q] beats audio: software, hardware, both?

Actually 2 questions here about Beats Audio on the HTC One:
1. With respect to the phone itself (not the earphones) is Beats Audio purely software or is there also a hardware component to Beats (sound processor in the phone)?
2. Does putting a custom ROM on an HTC One mean you are giving up the benefits of Beats Audio? ie: custom ROMs don't take advantage of special hardware features, or from a software perspective you lose Beats software functionality...
(some may argue that there are any benefits to Beats Audio so maybe my questions are moot)
1) It's a software mod with a good hardware
2) If you will use a custom htc sense based you will have Beats.
It you will flash an aosp based you will lose beats, boomsound, zoe and other

so it sounds like i'll lose just the software mods. sad...i love the native ui, and really dislike sense. hopefully soon, there will be patches i can apply to my rom to get back the good software.
anyone know of any works in progress regarding this?

[Q] Speakers inbalance

Hi guys,
I have switched from Galaxy S3 to HTC One lately and I am completely satisfied with the HTC so far.
On a side note I would like to say that in all reviews people say that HTC One has awesome build quality vs the Samsung phones, but in my opinion the term they wanted to use is design not build quality. It has very good design, while the quality is pretty poor I would say, or the quality control if you will. However, what I like the most about the HTC One is the Sense interface, yes, I despise Samsung's Touchwiz, did what I can to get rid of it (cyanogenmod). But here, for the first time I am granted the opportunity to switch to pure AOSP and I don't want to anymore. Sense 5.0, in my opinion is pleasing to the eye, functional and pretty light too, also in contrary to Samsung, the 4.2.2 update fixed most of the issues that were bugging people so that's also good.
Anyway, sorry for that short off-topic, I had to say it .
The "issue" I have discovered is that the speakers are quite heavily imbalanced, meaning that the bottom one is louder. I have started to be worried, knowing how poor HTC's quality control is, but then realized that when I turn on Beats Audio they get perfectly balanced then.
Maybe this is how they designed it to WOW people with that Beats Audio switch, or maybe there is something going on with my device.
Does it happen with your HTC One also? I'm curious...
Nothing like that for me.. Just checked

[Q]Does anyone know how to import xperia stuff easily?

So I'm an Android noob. I've been using Android Revolution for months and months, and today looking at my phone only having 500MB left, I figure I needed a fresh start, and decided to checkout the roms and how they shaped since December. Its actually only now that I realize I was using Android Revolution all this time just because the thread I looked at looked familiar.
I downloaded 10 roms to try out. My 1st one CM11 official. Bleh.
My second one was RomAur GE Xperia i1 v2.2. MY GOD. How do I import these Sony and Walkman things like Clear Audio and equalizers. They sound SOOOO much better than beats audio (which I never used). How do I take this listening experience with me to a rom I settle on?
I have a feeling I'm going to default right back to Android Revolution and realize that what I'm really only missing is better sound enhancements.
Is there an APK or some sort of flashable zip to use and enjoy these on other roms? I tried google but I'm having trouble narrowing specifics.
