Hey guys, what exactly should I do to try out the new tizen operation system on my gg1? Is there a tutorial on how to do this or something?

reflash your stock countries firmware
then in kies you can upgrade to tizen
This is what I did to my gear with Null 23:
1. download and extract Tizen firmware for my country, Canada in my case.
2. place my gear in download mode
3. start ODIN 3.09, load the Tizen firmware in the AP tab
4. connect my gear to computer, allow ODIN to recognize the gear
5. Click the Start button in ODIN, wait about 2 min. while this is happening, uninstall gear manager on my DN3 V4 beta2 note 2, restart phone, and install gear manager from Samsung stores
6. Once the ODIN finishes flashing, the gear restarts, and my note 2 recognizes the gear right away, and I was able to setup everything like before on android, with all the notifications and weather.
So in my flashing, I did not return the gear to stock android before flashing Tizen, and I did not have any of the flashing or connection issues that others have faced. Not sure why this is the case, but I am not going to find out.
In any case, one thing to keep in mind, flashing Tizen is a one way street, currently there is no way going back to android if you change your mind after flashing, so make sure you think really hard and decide.

there's a thread in the general section about tizen for the gg1.
i believe you turn on usb debugging, boot to download mode and connect to kies. if it doesn't say there is an update available, then the thread in general has a link to the tar to flash it through odin and directions to do the same. there is a search function to deliver this information, i just learned this earlier today through the search function.
What region should I pick for the firmware? I didn't see any listed for the US?

I picked Canadian.
Hmm....I tried both canada and the UK. Both installed without incident and I can connect thru my phones bluetooth menu. But gear manager doesn't connect. It sits at the screen showing "Connecting to Gear". Any thoughts or ideas? I'm pretty sure it's something in this galaxy gear as my wifes gear (with null 23 ROM) connects just fine.
stuck
So far no issues except no watch styler or multi watch in gear manager
Update got watch styler to work
Muti watch still says not connected

What firmware did you flash? Canadian region?
Also, I can't get the gear to work with kies. It recognizes the gear but then gives me a message saying kies can't update the firmware. WTF?? This is really aggrivating!

Trying to Flash Tizen with Odin and no luck so far. Every time odin gets stuck on boot loader. I have tried downloading MD5 file from my region(Canadian) off of two different sites. Also I am back to stock rom now and still no luck with odin or kies. Having an issue connecting to Kies 3 and Kies 2.6. Both will not connect to gear watch in download mode and just powered on. Every time Odin flashed Tizen gear is soft bricked and I have to re flash TWRP to bring it back to life.
Anyone else having these issues or have any fixes ?
Much Appreciated :good:

PLEZE HELP! Stuck in Odin!
OK, I'm buggered. I've been resisting "upgrading" to Tizen for months, partly because I was happy with my Null setup, and partly because I'm a noob and was afraid I'd screw it up. Finally, after weeks of no more rich notifications thanks to a Gear manager upgrade, I read as much as I could absorb and took the plunge. And now I've screwed up.
In short, I'm stuck in Odin 3.09 at this point in the sequence:
<ID:0/011> Added!!
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
<OSM> Please wait..
<OSM> V700XXUCNF1_V700OXACNF1_HOME.tar.md5 is valid.
<OSM> Checking MD5 finished Sucessfully..
<OSM> Leave CS..

<ID:0/011> File analysis..
<ID:0/011> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/011> Initialzation..
<ID:0/011> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/011> Firmware update start..
<ID:0/011> SingleDownload.
<ID:0/011> sboot.bin
Now, this is farther than I'd managed yesterday, when it would simply get to SetupConnection, freeze for 4 minutes, and report FAILED. But now it's not reporting anything, it's been hanging for close to an hour and I don't know what to do, and am worried that if I pull the plug I will just brick the watch (Odin doesn't appear to have a "Cancel" mechanism that isn't greyed out when running).
Finally, I should mention that I followed the steps as described earlier in this thread by "bballengphd", and went into download mode directly from my Null watch without re-flashing stock Android. And while I get the little green robot with the "Downloading... do not turn off target!!" message, I have never seen the watch show a status bar.
Help?
Never mind
I worked it out. Actually wound up bricking the watch, and then found this gem in another thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56827616&postcount=26
... and it totally worked. Koxfi, you saved my bacon.

Welcome back in our family.
I bought a New Samsung Galaxy TAB, just two days back, from Amazon.com and was shipped to Washington DC. It's an unlocked version that has no Operator logos on it. It was indeed an awesome thing until I used my magic hands on it only 15 hours after I received.
I had a problem with Arabic Characters; they were disconnected and sometimes reversed. So, I searched over the net for one day and chose to install a ROM from Samfirmware.com. I chose the latest firmware from the table of arabic firmwares. It's P1000JPJM5. (P1000JPJM5 ## P1.PIT Version 2.2 2011 January), so here are the steps that I've gone through:
1. Download the firmware.
2. I use the Odin 1.7 and applied the PIT file first. It finished successfully in 11 seconds.
3. I put the Galaxy tab in the Download mode (decrease volume + Power).
4. I applied the PDA using the Odin 1.7, I chose the TAR file that came with the P1000JPJM5 downloaded file.
5. A light blue indicator started just below the Download logo, the indicator progressed cheerfully, but suddenly stopped. I checked the Odin, and found a "FAILED!" sign. I searched the log, and found the following error:
<ID:0/045> cashe.rfs
<ID:0/045> Modem.bin
<ID:0/045> Complete(Write) Operation failed
<ID:0/045> All threads completed. (Succeed 0/ Failed 1)
attached is a jpg file having the error exactly.
6. Regardless of the warning saying "Don't unplug the target" or whatever it said by that time, and since the application of the firmware stopped, I unplugged the USB cable. I did that after waiting for 20 minutes whereas the Galaxy Tab didn't show any response but that download logo and the non-moving indicator.
7. After I did that, the Galaxy Tab became dead. Whenever I attach it to the computer, it displays a 3 icons screen; a computer, a phone, and a warning triangle with an exclamation mark. I assume that this means that there is an error in the connection between the Tab and the computer.
8. No matter how many times I tried the Download, recovery or any other thing, the phone would only display one of two things, the 3 icons screen that I listed in the previous step, or the Battery screen showing a grey battery.
HELLLLLP!!!!
Regards,
Khatypically.
Go to samfirmware.com download the files for your device.
Select pit file then check repartition - flash
Select pda csc modem, uncheck repartition - flash.
Good luck! If you get any trouble send me a msg. on skype luc_de_mar

Thanks Lucian, This is exactly what I did in the first place. Used Odin 1.7 and applied the PIT file coming with it, then applied the P1000JPJM5 PDA and CSC modem file.
Unless the P1000JPJM5 is not for my device?? How to know?
Lucian, any clue?
My tab is dead after I tried to install an arabic firmware from samfirware.com. I bought my tab originally from the US. Now, I'll download the "suitable" firmware from samfirmware.com as you advised, but How would I ever know the suitable firmware given that my device is exactly this one (that's where I bought)(my devise is dead now and can only display the download mode):

I have been searching around forums looking for advice and have been unable to locate a solution so here seems as good a place as any to ask for help. I have an unlocked gtp-1000 that has been running overcome 1.4.5 for last month very nicely until tonight when I thought it would be a good idea to get some gingerbread goodness like I have been using on my nexus one. was going to flash Overcome ROM v2.0.0 BETA 2 and was following guide but only got halfway through flashing stock gingerbread with odin when laptop unexpectedly did a restart for an unknown reason while I was away getting a snack. was unsure whether flashing process had been completed so opened odin again and tried reflashing. couldnt get past
setup connection...
so tried to reboot into download mode and then powered down. now tab is dead. battery was at 80% when it died
before I take back to samsung tomorrow any ideas?
I have plugged into wall charger= nothing
plugged into laptop=nothing and not detected
held power and volume up=nothing
held power and volume down=nothing
held power and volume up & home=nothing
no sounds or anything at all on screen
truly bricked?
Updates:
Hi Guys,
I applied the p1000nubjm2 firmware. I downloaded it from samfirmware. It's the latest P1000L firmware for America/Australia. It failed in the PDA file: P1000NUBJM2_P1000NUBJM2_P1000NUUBJM2_HOME.TAR . I was planning to apply the gingerbread update after that.
Now to the results, As you know, before, I was able to reach the download mode, the startup Galaxy Tab/Samsung screen, and the battery displays when connecting the cable. Now, after application of this lovely firmware and failure, nothing (literally "Nothing") takes place. The device became more dead than it was before . It doesn't display anything and it doesn't respond to power or displays the battery. It became a black $500 cost brick No matter how much time I keep it charging (or what "should be" charging), it would never startup again (sigh!) The ODIN and samsung kies no more recognize the device when connected to the computer.
Any additional clues before I decide to convert it to a teacup base?
Regards,
ARK
Beat with me guys, I am very very new to this board, and I apologize if I post this in the wrong area.
Lemme start from scratch.
My phone is not rooted or anything like that. BUT I wanted to update my software for the Captivate to 2.2 using samsung Kies.
Not sure what happened, I though I had the correct drivers installed and what not, but it gave me the screen with the phone, exlamation mark, and computer.
I can put my phone into download mode, and I installed odin3 one click downloader. The problem is, when it gets to the part 'file analysis' it gets stuck there.
I watched a video on youtube and his went automatically, so I'm not sure at ALL what to do. If I can fix this myself, I'd love to. If not, I will go through AT&T and see if I can get it replaced.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Not sure how to fix it, but if you have to send it into samsung say it got screwed up somehow while trying to update to KB1, in truth that is what happened, plus if you say that they will try to fix it fast
If you have access to another computer, download ODIN and try it on that one. Odin works on my laptop but not on my desktop.
CM7 Inspire 4G
What you have is a soft brick. Keep trying to get into download (try both 2 and 3 button methods) and then retry Odin. Look in Dev subforum for the "How to flash a ROM" sticky as there is good info on how to do this.
Samsung was absolutely no help lol.
Well.. I guess I can try this on another desktop.
Jeez I regret trying to upgrade man. Shoulda waited and learned more.
Has anyone had odin3 get stuck at file analysis before?
What model is your Cappy? You can find the model number underneath the battery (on the phone itself). It should have a number like 1006,1007,1008,1009,1010,etc.
Also, it'll be a good idea to try this alternate method in the mean time:
Make sure you know how to go to Download Mode, and that you have the drivers installed properly.
Windows 64bit
Windows 32bit
This is the manual (or "full") Odin, it's taken from a post by icezar1 in the Development Forum:
Do not use this if you want to send your phone back to ATT or Samsung for warranty!
Do not use this if you know you flashed a -LOW- ODIN package (when opening the PDA***.tar or CODE***.tar you will find inside boot.bin or sbl.bin)
Use this if you want to go back to stock before flashing a custom ROM.
Use this without worries if you changed your boot screen image or if you flashed the secondary boot loader which allows you to enter download/recovery with key combos.
Download the package from here
How to:
Remove sdcard and SIM card from the phone
Extract JF6_secure.zip somewhere.
Boot your phone in Download Mode
Run Odin3 v1.3.exe
Plug in your phone via USB
Click on the button PDA
Choose JF6_secure.tar.md5
Click start
Wait and do not unplug cable until it is finished

Just for clarity sake, those are not the model numbers, they are build date (first two are year, second two are month). The model number of the Captivate is i896 or i897.
I know, I keep saying that they're model number though for some reason. Thanks anyway I guess.
Thank you venomio this 1.3 is working much better.

Hi I just decided to change my custom firmware to darkynote from rocketrom. It worked perfectly but I wanted to update my kernal also so afterwards i rebooted into recovery and installed version 2.6 of Abyss Note. Now My phone boots to the "Samsung Galaxy Note N7000" Screen and stays there unless i plug it in, then when i start it it goes to a frozen battery screen. I cant boot into recovery but i can boot into download mode. Can someone help me get my phone back to stock? I can't seem to find a tutorial anywhere that will work for me.

Someone respond, im gonna cry.
First Relax man, dont be in hurry, read this guide twice/thrice n calmly proceed...
It is nice still you can entre to download mode.
First get Stock firmware from here Type N700 in search field, it will show all available firmware, select you wish to flash n download
Note : If you select latest ROM KL7, you won't get Root + CWM, for that you have to Flash another ROM first, then You have to Root + CWM,then Install Mobile odin pro, now flash KL7 with Mobile Odin pro with 'ever root' option enable. If you selecting another ROM, ignore this note
Get odin n extract
Install:
Install Kies on your computer, connect your phone and make sure that all the drivers installed correctly.
Extract tar file from the ROM you have download(password available at site from you have download). Put the phone into download mode (vol. down+home+power buttons),
Comlete close kies, if open. start odin, connect the phone via USB. Choose continue on the phone,
make sure that only two boxes are checked in odin - Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time.
Choose PDA button in Odin and select tar file you extracted before.
Choose START button.
The phone will reboot after the flash. Done.
Alright sounds good but i left it at the NAND write start thing overnight and when i came back it said this:
<ID:0/006> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/006>
<ID:0/006> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
<ID:0/006> Removed!!
Now I have a black screen and its flashing on and off with the frozen battery symbol. I think the battery is drained or something.
Also my download of the rom finished, there isnt any tar files its just a zip with an MD5 file and a Dll. Should i just but the MD5 file in the PDA section?
Edit: now my phone wont do anything when i try to put it in download mode.
Anyway if you are still able to entre Download mode, then try to flash stock kernel as i said above.
But thats what I mean, is it possible for the phone to not boot into download because the battery is dead or is my phone just bricked forever $850 dollars out the window.

Actually i dont understand properly, your first post said U R getting into DW mode, if you can entre into boot mode, i guide you earlier, i cant say it bricked.
many time this happen after some error in procedure.
If you even not able to entre into Download mode, you need to entre it with JIG.

Actually I was just updating you. At first it was working, then i tried a tutorial simmilar then the one you just gave me and it caused the phone to not turn on whatsoever. Can you link me to one of these "jigs". Thanks
You can get it readymade from market e.g. ebay or you can make it own home made
see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=819551
better first try with other battery once, if you cud manage
I was able to get a hold of one locally. When I plug it in, nothing happens. Any advice? Its for a GSII. Is that why? Or is it the battery thing. Before it stopped working completely, when i booted into download it would say low battery. Looks like its game over for my new phone .
I tried this with an old usb cable http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20914895#post20914895.
Inserted the USB Jig afterwards. No luck
I suppose i have to take it to be J-tagged: http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-...-JTag-Service-Phone-Unlock-W0QQAdIdZ341742939
I'm sorry if this is not helping, or being so late, but I wanted to share my experience.
So, now can you enter the recovery menu by pressing the 3 buttons?
if you can then do a factory reset/wipe from the recovery and then flash an entire flashable ROM, maybe a stockROM or ROCKETROM.
you can upload ROCKETrom from the ordinary windows explorer , just copy and paste to the ex.SD.
the looping android animation actually happened to mine, and that's how I fixed it.
BTW: I didn't use Odin at all, or any other program.
Thanks for trying to help but this is completely irellavent. My phony CAN'T get into recovery and it NO LONGER CAN even get into Odin (download mode). I guess I wasn't clear when posting. Is anyone aware of a hardbrick fix or if sammy will repair ,my phone for a price.
Hi buddy. The EXACT same happened to be when trying to flash RocketV16. Frozen charge screen and everything.
To sort it I first let the phone start and hang on the black/white writing splash screen, removed the battery while it was on, held down the power button without the battery in for 3-5 seconds, put the battery back in. I then held Vol Down, the Home button and then the power down button (hold down power last) for some seconds until the Odin-Mode downloader came up.
After that I just followed a guide on flashing with Odin.

Galaxy Note N7000 Screen
I hate to hijack your thread but what I have to ask directly relates to your issue.
I have been searching for any file that contains this actual GALAXY Note Boot Screen - I am looking for this image file with the hope of making this my sole wallpaper/background. If there is anyway you or those who are reading this can PLEASE attach the file or at the very least provide a link so I 'd be able to download it for myself. I'd sincerely appreciate any help I can get.
I'm willing to pay ANY PERSON WHO PROVIDES A HIGH QUALITY IMAGE HOPEFULLY ALREADY SIZED FOR IMMEDIATE USE.
I'm sorry - please don't take this message as that of "shouting", My hope was to capture readers attention. Again, I apologize in advance for anyone having taken this message as shouting. That was not my intent.

Done.

I'm not exactly sure but my friend was messing around with his Galaxy Gear and ended up wiping the OS off it. I'm trying to figure out how to fix it. It has the custom recovery on it. I'm able to get it in recovery and download mode but when it tries to boot it doesn't go pass the Samsung logo screen. I know more then he does about this but not sure how to load a rom on it when there is no OS. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Perhaps try searching? Just flash stock with odin

Sounds like he did a system wipe, go to download mode and Odin stock

That's commonly a computer side software problem, try using a different USB port, restarting your computer, reinstalling drivers, etc

I tried that, but I will try again when I get home tonight. Is it just the Samsung drivers I need?
Thanks Rick

used Odin3 V1.85 and loaded the stock rom in the PDA slot and put the GEAR in download mode.
all installed fine! now to reroot and load NULL again!

No problem, I'm glad you worked it out
please help mee!!!
In my galaxy gear when i wanted to unroot, in twrp i had mistakenly deleted the os. Now in my gear it is stuck in the screen "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kies and try again". However when i tried in kies it says while connecting "device is not responding". I'm a newbie so please help me out step by step.
Please Help Me Out!!!
Hope I can get some assistance, I tried searching and nothing so far.
I 'wiped' the Galaxy Gear in recovery mode and inadvertently cleaned the watch. It was running Null but I wanted to revert to stock ROM.
Now the screen hangs at Samsung Galaxy Gear and won't start up.
I have the stock ROM "V700XXUCOA2_V700OXACOA2_HOME.tar.md5" and am attempting to write it back to the gear via Odin 3 however it sticks at BOOTLOADER on the top right.
Can anyone please help me out here?
I've tried reflashing using Odins 3.07 and 3.09 with the tizen to android method and nothing. I've tried flashing the stock rom using Odin 3.09 but still the triangle of death persists.
It will not shift. It is seemingly bricked beyond repair. I cannot boot it into recovery or download.
Someone must be able to help.
OK, I can now return to recovery but still completely unable to flash a rom to it. I get this message
<ID:0/004> Now Writing.. Please wait about 2 minutes
<ID:0/004> Receive Response from boot-loader
<ID:0/004> FAIL!
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1
If anyone can help or point me to some help I would be massively grateful. So far I have a watch that will only say "Samsung Galaxy Gear" and nothing else.
Anyone found a work around, maybe it's the download. I'm faced with the same thing, I did figure out thought that forcing stop everything removing the watch from the cradle and Odin flashing back to this V700XXUAMK7_V700OXAAMK7_HOME.tar.md5 restores it back to JB Stock Android and is successful but I wanna try Tizen already. LoL! Also beware trying to flash the Tizen firmware in Odin 3.09, thats what got me in all this mess to begin with, Odin had a error reported it to Windows and then windows closed odin and I was sitting at the SOD, until I decided to try MK7 again.
