It's normal that you can't install or flash one firmware that use android 4.3 if you are in android 4.4.4.
- You will have to downgrade till NC2 (android 4.4.4) -> HERE. For install, root and use safestrap in NJ5 -> HERE.

The file from samfirmware is defective. You are better off updating thru kies.
Download DXJK2 from here then connect to kies and update....
good luck!
Ironically, I just flashed mine with the one found on samfirmware.com as I needed to send my unit back to Samsung for RMA on the battery, (battery kept on shutting down for no reason) and it worked just fine. Phone, CSC was all there. They gave it the once over and actually "reformatted" it for me, just to diagnose in case it wasn't a software issue. Lo and behold, it shut down on them right after the "reformatting" and confirmed my issues for them!
Just follow the restocking part of the guide found on Teamovercome.net, but instead of using the standard JQ1.tar file we provided, just use the tar file that came from samfirmware and you should be alright. That's what I did anyway, and it was all fine.
Just remember to do change the CSC from the Korean one to your appropriate market's CSC. The Malaysian CSC was XME.

If i remember correctly, after flashing the firmware, go to recovery mode, it will do some initialisation and once it's done, you do a reboot, you should see the pda & csc..

tried flashing DXJK2 but it keeps on rebooting at samsung logo.
OK, just for fun, I flash back to stock DXJPE from Overcome Jupiter.
The DXJPE firmware is the same from samfirmware.
Using Odin, put pit file 'gt-p1000_mr.pit', put PDA file the downloaded tar file and start flashing.
Upon flash successfully complete, the tab is observed to be stuck in Download mode.
Power off the tab, then enter recovery mode (power button, volume up button)
Once on recovery, will see runs of red text. Dont worry
From recovery perform clear cache, factory reset.
Reboot tab.
Tab should boot up to the familiar language setup screens.
Dial *#272*<imei no>#* to change to your desired CSC.

[Q] E: part(1) DATA Checksum Error

I just booted my Galaxy tab into recovery and noticed the following three error lines in red:
E: part(1) DATA Checksum Error
E: part(1) Checksum error
Internal MMC Checksum verify failed
I'm running stock Gingerbread.
My tab works perfectly fine and I think I know why this message appears when I enter recovery. I recently rooted my tab using DooMLoRD's rooting tool. After rooting I removed some bloatware and of course the rooting tool installed some stuff like SU which I know is installed as system app.
I never entered recovery before rooting so I don't know if whatever this means was already there before gaining root access.
However, I think E: part(1) is probably the system partition which was modified when/after rooting (although is not meant to be modified) and that is why the checksum fails, because the system partition -which is not supposed be changed- was actually altered by rooting and removing and adding system apps.
Can any knowledgeable developer/advanced user confirm if my explanation makes sense? I just want to make sure that this is not something I should be worried about.

Could you please tell us more details?
Which gingerbread, is it p1000, or p1000l/m/n?
What did u do to break it?
you prabably need to reflash a rom with pit file and repartition, as well as flashing dbdata.rfs.

I don't have my tab handy at the moment but I think mine is running Android 2.3.4 and it's a P1000n. I'll get more info and post it here.
reflash
Hello everyone! I have a p1000l and with the same issue, even reflashing and getting back to stock defaults (without rooting) gives me these lines when on recovery mode, and some times if i turn off the device it wont turn on, stays on SAMSUNG logo for ages.

Step 1) Read this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
Step 2) Read it again.
Step 3) Download stock GB rom for ODIN from there. You need to get it down to tar format.
Step 4) Download ODIN
Step 5) Flash the PDA only. Make sure the options are ticked just like this picture

Step 6) ???????
Step 7) Profit (and hit thanks below my post)
You don't really need to flash the CSC as it will change your country code (but could if you want to). You don't really need to flash any MODEM files, as it will possibly change your wireless reception (for better or worse). Do not flash bootloaders or PIT files. You will never need to flash a bootloader with odin, no matter ICS, JB, whatever. PIT files are made for repartitioning the emmc for people with superbricks who have corrupted /data and /system partitions. It will decrease the size of your internal memory by a few gb. Don't do it

Check My HOW TO GUIDE
ODIN flash i9000 in google.
Just mark repartition field in Odin before flashing.
You can download latest stock firmware from sammobile.com or samsung-updates.com
mark26 is right, it would be good to flash first CM10.1 than Slim Bean 4.2.2.
BACKUP YOUR EFS PARTITION after you root stock firmware
Thanks EveryOne..I flashed "DarkyROM_10.2_Resurrection.zip" using Odin..Now its booted..after 12 minutes..

You already had a thread made for the same error few days back. The same question.. did you try flashing a rom using the PIT file? http://d-h.st/FVh (Don't use it if you have 32GB model.).
In your previous thread you said 4.0.4 works fine? whats the status now?

yes i created this thread again as i got no reply there.
yeah i tried that with lt6,lt5 and i still get the same error.
yesterday, i flashed ics 4.0.4 on ics i got no error in recovery mode. but after flashing ics 4.0.4 i updated to 4.1.2 via kies and then inserted simcard n rebooted and i get same error..since then i tired 2.3.5,4.0.4,4.1.2 firmware and i get same error..yes i flashed pit file too. stil no luck
So to conclude.. as of now, your phone is booting fine with ICS 4.0.4, no error in recovery as well?

Once you flash philz kernel using odin.. remove the usb cable, remove the battery.. re-seat the battery after 10 seconds.. then press vol up+home+power till you see the GT N7000 screen.. then leave the keys. See if you can get to CWM.
