[Q] Completely dead droid 3 (XT860) - Motorola Droid 3

Hello, I got this phone bricked after a flashing atempt with some ****ty battery. Got a new one, but the phone won't turn on at all, won't charge, nor white led indicator while pluged in the charger. The led does turn on when I plug the cellphone on the pc holding the power button, and the pc tries to recognize the device, on a loop of "device connected/disconnected" sounds done by windows. I made a factory cable, but I don't know if I have to install any drivers on the pc in order for it to work. Any thoughts?

Not at all. The phone is basically dead, except for when I plug it into the pc, ad it tries to recognize it, without sucess.

If there is nothing on the screen, likely a bad flex cable or LCD.

the PC connect/disconnect is likely a bootloop.
could try flashing, but it must be in AP fastboot mode
easiest way to get to AP fastboot mode, power off device, hold volume down, press power for 5-6 sec, release power, then release volume down.

Phone bricked?

My phone is completely dead and wont answer to anything I do. I would be so thankful with some advice!
Last night my phone ran out of battery to 0 % and died normally, I charged it and tried to boot it, but all that happened then was
a loop of the Samsung logo and then the Cyanogenmod logo.
(I'm currently on CM10 rom) I tried to start it several times in both clockwork and normal but it didn't work.
I finally accepted my destiny of having to flash through odin and download mode, but that didn't work either!
Now I can't even get to download mode. I'm trying to charge through USB and normal charger but neither works,
no battery icon is coming up. However when I connect the phone via usb I can hear the "connected" sound on my computer!
Would appreciate help! My phone is black, quiet and dead
Perhaps your battery is just empty. There are some ROMs which can't handle charging while the phone is switched off (dunno why...). Have you tried using a JIG to get into DL mode? I'm pretty sure your i9000 is _not_ hard bricked.
Wow! I will try using a jig as soon as I get it (just ordered one for 3 pounds) Hopefully it will work!
I'm wondering... This works on this situation ??? >>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330491
me too............
---------- Post added at 08:39 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:24 AM ----------
disconnect the battery for 5 minutes to install chargers
Tried using JIG, but doesn't work... The weird thing is that I get the "connected" sound from my computer when putting USB in, but phone is all dead no matter what i try to do.

try flashing rom back on phone using samfirmware.com
I can't flash anything! Nothing happens when I press power button / Power + Vol + Home, nothing happens when I connect charger either.
OK try and yes I know you said it isn't working but but hold the download mode buttons for 5 seconds then see if Odin detects it even if the screen does nothing

I think the last option is a JTAG - you may search for it on Google.

[Q] Xperia SP not booting to flashmode or charging when it is off

So I was trying to update my phone through Sony PC Companion, the files got downloaded. The only thing left was the phone to enter flashmode by turning it off and pressing volume down button while connecting USB port. When I did it, nothing happened....not even a notification light blink!!
Tried all different cables too (including original sony wire)
Also, I tried charging the phone normally after shutting down and not a single thing happened (no light, no screen battery indicator)
The phone is charging when it is on.
Please help me...I'm suffering a lot!!
And sorry for my bad english!!

Change the PHONE via warranty claim. Your hardware is damaged most probably.
You can do two things to confirm. backup your data and then hard reset your phone. Does it still behave the same way?
And when you turn your phone off and connect to PC, what do you see? Tell me exactly like do you see a shimmer of light and then its off or there is some kind of light etc. Just mention everything you can think about. Use flashtool and see if it connects in fastboot mode. (Not official FLASHTOOL) Here is the link : http://www.flashtool.net/index.php
Remember to connect your phone in fastboot according to your model. The instructions given on flashttol are of old device.
Good Luck
Try this
Unplug the usb as usual
Power off as usual
Then plug the usb cable while pressing volume down and also press power button for a two seconds. it will help u.
I also have the same situation like u but pressing the power button done me the trick.

If ur booted into a ROM, then obviously ur device ain't bricked. If u have the ADB drivers installed properly, the phone's serial number should show.
FYI, never post ur Serial No. anywhere. Its sensitive device information

If you see Qualcomm USB in Device Manager, ur screwed coz the phone will require a motherboard replacement in most cases

No the phone does not do anything, no charging light and does not turn on, so it does not go to recovery.
But maybe the phone does get connected trough usb and if i see some serial number that give's me hope that it's not fully bricked.
Or am i completely wrong?

Look, ADB will work only in a fully booted ROM or in CWM/TWRP recovery. Currently, ur phone isn't even turning on. There are many people with this issue. There is no real "fix" as such. Try putting your proximity sensor in a strong source of light for a while. If it doesn't turn on, then HTC will have 2 replace the motherboard, which is really expensive
Try holding POWER + VOLDOWN (phone under a bright light,) after about 5 seconds, buttons should start blinking, and after 20 to 30 seconds, phone should reboot.
you may need to try 2 or 3 times, to get it to work.
I have the same problem I could not do anything tried all the tricks

yes as long as its on but it only stays on for like 4 seconds then reboots.
Looks like I'm not the only one (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2668865) you might be able to recover if it boots, mine is completely dead.
It shows this screen for about 4 seconds than just reboots and does it again

hold power + vol down for 10 - 15 seconds does it stop at the bootloader fastboot screen ?

Soft Brick without volumen button

Let me explain firstly... I was in 5.1 and flashed a bad zip with TWRP, and i get a failed message in the screen... I thought nothing wrong would happened and restart phone... The point is i got infinite bootloop (phone stuck in first animation, vibration and then restart, and all again till the phone exhauste the battery)...
The situation is my volume button is broken and cant enter to fastboot mode. When i plug the phone in my computer, is recognize for few seconds till gets restart again. The question, is there any option to get in fastboot mode using linux or something like that? It would be great. :crying:
Had this same issue this weekend. Had a xt1060 dev ed with down volume broke. You need to replace the buttons on the frame (seen on eBay for 5$-13$). I ended up throwing the main board into another phone I had laying around rather than replace the buttons alone. EBay is your friend. I tried shorting pins on the connection where the button
ribbon cable plugs into, but without an actual pin out, I only managed to get the power button to work.
But is a way to give life back to my motorola? When i plug to charger it turn on and vibrate and restart..... and over again, till it loses all the battery

like i said, there is but it involves replacing the ribbon cable underneath the buttons, that is glued to the metal frame. it will cost between 5-15$ to buy the parts, and its pretty simple.

HTC One M7 not turning on - help!

Hi there, I was wondering if there are any sure fire things I can do to be able to get my HTC back into the recovery menu.
The phone will not turn on, does not respond to charging and volume down and power does nothing, even when held down for a couple of minutes. Interestingly when connected to windows I hear the device connected noise when I hold down volume down and power whilst connected.
Any help would be massively appreciated in reviving my favourite phone. Runs custom AOSP android with the bootloader unlocked. Was working absolutely fine prior to the battery being rum down. Thank you!

You can flash it by using its latest firmware if your phone is not turning on.

Could be a crashed light sensor, sometimes it gets stuck and prevents the back light from turning on. Try holding a bright light close the light sensor then hold the bootloader button combo. It can take a couple of minutes so be patient keep holding the buttons. It should come on at the bootloader screen then just reboot from there.
No promises but it was a know issue so it's worth a try. [emoji106]
