My ATT Tilt will not get past the boot screen that shows the radio and other info at the bottom of the screen. Is it Bricked? and if so can someone redirect me to the Bricked thread?
Get your phone into bootloader "how to in WIKI" flash stock ROM, can be found in WIKI too.
Updated with a stock ROM and it still won't go past the Bootscreen/ATT logo screen. It just gets to the screen and when it is about to fully boot up it shuts down. Could it be a hardware problem??

Could be a battery problem, Give us some background. What rom were you running, what was the phone doing before, did it just die or did you shut it off and then it would not reboot. Does this happen when it is charging or just when you unplug it.
My phone won't boot doesn't give us much to go on. How old is the battery.
I have a replacement battery which I am using and it is doing the same thing and it decided to one day just not boot up properly. I was running an older version of the Ultimate ROM and also ran shifus ROMS a few times. Just crapped out one day.

Same thing happened to my phone one day out of the blue. My two year old battery crapped out, so I put in my 6 month old replacement battery, that wouldn't work either. When I ot home, I put it on the charger and it just went into a reset loop. Tried flashing stock rom and other custom roms. Tried taking the battery out and letting it sit overnite. As a last resort, even though I figured a less than six month old battery wouldn't be the problem, I bought a new battery and all has been well since.
Guess I will try it out. Crossing my fingers! But when you are talking about a reset loop does that mean it stays on and just keeps rebooting?....because mine will just shut off and I would have to manually boot it back up.

With shipping, the battery cost me $12.99 seemed a better immediate step than to buy a new phone.
What web sites do you use....all the ones I have been finding are around $29

I gave you the link in post #6
Thnx man!! I am gonna go to an ATT store first and see if I can test one out to see if it is the batt first
?? any idea and it just stays like that
Have you tried a hard reboot? What is the status of your NC? Rooted? Stock 1.2? CM7? Had you "done" or "loaded" anything just before? Is there a bootable uSD in the slot?
Bit more info would be spiffy here.
With so little to go on, it's hard to say what's happening; but it looks like a problem with the hardware to me. Particularly, the LCD panel seems to be on the fritz.
How old is the Nook? Had it been working fine for more than just a few days before this problem occurred? Any drops or spills in the recent past?
When was it purchased? Seems like the LCD panel is busted. If it's rooted or not, take it to the BN Store and have it replaced.
It was a trade and it was fine it for weeks and then one day started doing this, and now just hardly ever get it too turn on and it does that when it does.
i nor he never moded it in any way, hardware or software. it's stock
Oh and it does it with or without a SD card in it, i recently made the SD card into a clockwork one to try and fix it but no luck since it wont even come on hardly ever and sticks there and sometimes gets to the big U but never past there

Well, everything made by man breaks eventually an this one is definitely broken. If there is no sign of obvious trauma or water damage, you can probably get a warranty replacement.
I'd say it's time to take it to your local B&N store and get a new one. I imagine they would like to see the receipt, but I'm not sure.
If you can't get the receipt from your friend, you might have to try to sell it to the guy in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1145789
You could also try calling B&N Digital Support like the guy in the last post of that thread suggested.
Good Luck
I realize its the screen, even when I put in the SD with clockwork it goes haywire. Where on earth do you get a screen???

You don't get a new screen. You get a replacement unit from B&N, more than likely refurbished.

But the refurb Nook Color - I received - along with many others - looks and works like Brand new device.
I guess I am stuck. This was bought way past any exchange period. I think the unit is all bad anyway, besides the screen it will hardly ever turn on.
So my daughter accidentally let my TP battery die, and I've had no luck getting it to charge. I tried contacting support last week to get a ticket created, and as some of you may know they have discontinued phone support. I followed the link to email support and sent a ticket in and got a confirmation that it had been received and that I should expect contact in about a business day. 4 days later, nothing, so I sent another request. Still no response. I don't know if I'm just unlucky, or if HP is pulling a fast one on supporting these considering them EOS and leaving us on our own.I have about 25 days left on my warranty and I'm going to be more than a little upset if I can't get a decent answer out of them before then.
HP broke my touchpad in July, still not sorted, a month ago after a letter to the CEO they told me a new one was been shipped and would take 2 weeks, a month on and still nothing, emailed them twice in the last week and heard nothing back, so 4 months since they broke my touchpad and still nothing. Written on their facebook about it and if I've not got a working touchpad within a week I'm filing court papers.
Well, a week and a half later I did finally get an email from HP Support telling me to take the usual button press steps and send proof of purchase if the resets don't work. We'll see how it goes getting warranty service.
In which countries do you live? I think the support is very much dependent on the local circumstances. In June, I could still get my speaker cracks get repaired by HP Germany (in fact they had just switched over to another company doing the actual repairs). I don't know if this has recently changed though.
I'm in the UK, I actually have good news kind of, this has been a nightmare experience. But finally after 4 months and me taking it public and threatening a court case over the weekend I have finally got a new touchpad. It was only sent this tuesday AFTER I took further action so whether they would have ever sent one like they told me on the 15th October, who knows.

I sent a recorded delivery letter to the UK Head Quarters of HP listing all the times and dates of repairs and when I contacted them, what had happened so far, and what I expected to be done about it and a time frame to sort it.
They rang me 2 days after I sent it to sort it out (although this didn't happen in the end). Although I'd give it a try.
I'd wait at least a week or two after last contacting them and hearing nothing though, as if you just wait a few days or not a reasonable amount of time, or contacting them a few times then it will annoy them if you right to the HQ and they'll be less likely to help, it's more a last result, you could nag them on twitter as well https://twitter.com/HPUK
Not sure if this will help anyone or not, but after 3 weeks of waiting and several emails back and forth with support, I finally got this:
"Thank you for choosing HP for your technology needs. We value your business.
In order to process your warranty service claim, please call our fulfillment department at 661-257-5571 to order."
They gave me an order number and said they would cross ship my 'new' (refurb) TouchPad as soon as FedEx reported me shipping the defective one back.

Same thing happened to me with my touchpad, I did manage to fix it. If the warranty thing doesn't work out, pm me and ill let you know what I did to fix it. Also, even if you do have a warranty, I don't think hp will fix a hacked tp. I could be wrong.

ok, i wrote this in another thread but i don't think anyone else tried it. Bear in mind this should be a last ditch effort (you've exhausted all other options and you touchpad is currently a paperweight). Also make sure your issue is the same as mine. Here is the method that worked for me.
"I have fixed my dead touchpad, it should work for everyone with the same issue as i had ( The device is too low to power on and too low to even charge. I got a red battery symbol and an power plug symbol when attempting to turn on). Assuming you are suffering from the same issue as me, then the only way i found to fix the tp and get it charged again is to drain the battery even more (though i hear if you have a touchstone that could work too). It forces the TP off with about 1-2 percent battery so in order to fix the touchpad you must drain it even more, to the point where the screen can't even flash on to tell you it's dead. Do this by placing the TP upside down and vertical so it holds the power button down. Just walk away and come back when it is no longer flashing on and off. Mine did this for almost two hours. Once it completely 100% died, i plugged it back in and it was saved."
Edit: I wanted to add, plug once you plug it back in again, just let it do its thing and charge. I am not sure if it makes a difference, but don't even touch it until it automatically powers itself back up. You should see an alternating light on the button.

This is a common issue. It has happened to me. You probably DON'T need HP to fix this problem. You can probably do it yourself. Look through these forums for your answer. One issue that the Touchpads seem to have is a bad connection or bad USB cable, or cable end. I have to wiggle mine to get it to charge properly. I have fixed this issue on mine by repeatedly pressing the reset buttons and messing with the cable to get a better connection. Then, after seeiing it start to charge, leave it alone until fully charged. Next time, try switching to WebOS when the batter is low and charge from there. Or, go to WebOS and then shut the device down using that OS. Then charge the device. All of these strategies work fine for me now that I have found what to do to fix these issues. Don't turn off your device directly from one of the CM operating systems if the battery is below 20%.
I tried all of the fixes I came across on the forums. Trickle charge, different chargers and cords, powered usb hub, mashing button combos, leaving it plugged in for several days, etc etc, all with no joy. The best I get is the alternating light blink on the home button indicating battery error and even that is spotty. For those worried about getting support, they are cross shipping refurbs now so I don't think it is much of an issue.

So it worked for you?
My HD+ has a history of its screen flickering. It was mostly tolerable, but last night it just shut off completely and won't come back on. I was wondering what peoples' experiences have been on getting replacement or repair from B&N. If anybody has experienced this same issue, great, but I know some people have bricked their EMMC, too. I've only had it since March 1, but I no longer have the receipt. It is registered on the B&N site, but I wonder if it might cause issue that I'm running CM 10.2. The people with bricked EMMCs obviously wouldn't have to worry about that since the EMMC is dead. What is the procedure? Can you just walk into the store with it?

Yes, you can just walk in with it. Tell them the screen is dead and give them you serial number and name.
But if it has CM on it the warranty is void. So best to try to get it off. If you still have stock recovery installed you can do the 8 failed boot procedure to get the stock ROM back.
But if the store cannot tell CM is on it, then go for it.

Yeah, it has TWRP on it. If they can't get the screen to turn on then they won't see it by turning on the device, at least not until later if/when they get the screen working, if they bother. However, I don't know if they have other methods of determining what's on the device, because it "works" just fine, e.g. I can plug it into my pc and manipulate the files on the storage, and adb probably works as well. This isn't the first time the screen has gone blank like this, but usually I can at least get the lock screen to display for a moment or two before it blacks out, and after a few hours it'll come back on. This time I'm not getting anything except a detectable brightening when you first turn it on that soon dims. However, it could easily just miraculously start working again as it has before.
This thread has got me feeling a bit concerned, because lately my screen is momentarily blacking out every now and then.

Well, my screen did start working again, so I've restored to stock. It now looks washed out and there is a 2-3 inch band at the top where it is discolored. I'm excited that tomorrow I will finally be in the vicinity of a Barnes and Noble and hope to exchange it. I just hope any replacement I get will have an emmc compatible with TRIM.
Here's the final resolution. The Nooks have a 1 year warranty. I bought mine in March, but they tried to tell me that the warranty expired yesterday. Convenient. Well, it turns out because I bought mine from Walmart that they are going by the day that Walmart bought it from them. Whatever; the manager was sympathetic and offered to replace it, but there was a problem. I had the 32GB model and they didn't have any refurb 32GBs around. So I had 3 choices: get a refurb 16GB model, wait to see if they get any 32GBs in within a week (they could request one), or I could mail my broken one to corporate and wait for them to mail me a replacement. Since I can't make it to the store very frequently and probably won't be there for months and I don't want to deal with the corporate with whom I would have to submit my request for a replacement anew and hope they approved it, and because I was determined not to leave the store without a functional tablet, I ended up bringing home a shiny 16GB that I don't think was ever used or was not used much. Mostly likely a return from somebody who changed their mind. So yay, I got a new tablet, but boo, I have 16GB less storage space. I checked the EMMC for TRIM and it appears to be ok, so I'm pretty much good besides not being able to store as much.
I have been rooted and using custom ROMs for over a year now on my note 4 but recently started having my TekXodus ROM crash occasionally. So I updated to the factory latest DOK2 using Kies and I have an issue where when I reboot or shutdown. When i do this I have to pull the battery out for a few minutes before it can boot again. I have tried factory restoring with Kies several times and still have the same problem. Root + custom ROMs also have the issue. Any ideas?
Similar problems in another thread. I'm still having issues although I've gone back to stock as well.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-tmobile/help/note-4-major-slowdown-bugs-boot-loops-t3311297
People are starting to pop up everywhere with this issue, ROM's, stock, rooted, it doesn't seem to matter. It seems like it's either a software update they pushed to all carriers or maybe hardware failure of some kind. The batteries do seem to go bad fairly regularly around 9-12 months. That's fixable with that Anker 2x + wall charger kit, but if it's hardware failure for this it could get ugly.
Yeah mines getting worse. Gonna try to pick up a motherboard.

My phone died completely after a week of ongoing problems. Won't boot or anything any longer and I don't think its software related.. Let me know if you have any success picking up and installing a motherboard.
My Note 4 I bought a year ago was having this issue a couple months ago. Did the usual, factory reset, blah blah blah, was getting the mmc read fail error. Called tech support told them everything I did because I knew they would want me to do it so I headed them off at the pass. They said well it seems you did all the work for us and I had a replacement the next day for $5. Worked fine for 2 months and now it's doing it again so I'll be calling for another replacement tomorrow.
Strange thing is I wasn't getting the same mmc read fail error although I saw something similar only 1 time. This time though I did get a dm-verity verification (?) error. No idea what that even means.
What sucks is they really should offer me an upgrade at this rate but I have no interest in the Note 5 or the S6 without an sd slot or removable battery. Hoped to hold on to my N4 for at least another year.
where can we even buy motherboards for this note 4?

Yep, my time w/ the note4 was good while it lasted. I purchased it for $350 back in october and was great. sold it "as is for parts" on ebay for $160 yesterday, and am done with samsung for a while. took that $160 and purchased a LG G2 that i'll have to use for another year or more. i was really getting used to the note's size and stylus features as well.
