Any software to boost signal?

I have a HTC Tilt. Is there a hack or something to boost the power for the signal? I know for home routers you can flash the firmware and adjust the power. I don't mind if it uses more battery. If I can turn it off/on that would be even better.
I bought this for my home but I actually haven't installed it yet but at work I can't install this. If there is no software boost than is there a small USB external antenna that I can buy? I need something for work.

What you bought is really the only hardware solution I know of (short of some DIY hack that me exist).
Honestly if you don't get good reception at home or work you might want to try a different carrier (as I assume most of your day is at one of those two locations).
The only other alternative is to flash your device with a different Radio ROM. Each Radio has different characteristics and depending on your area one may work better for you. Look in the Wiki about Radios and how to flash to get started.
flash the radio.
the only thing that you can do is experiment with different radios and see which one is best for your preferences.
read the forum guide on how to flash radio

Strange GPS behavior with tomtom

I noticed that when I run tomtom the gps looses the signal continously, even if I'm in openair and with no construction around, like there is some issue with the receiver.. BUT when I download the satellite position with quick gps, everything is fine... why??
Maybe you wanna try another Radio ROM. I made the best experiences with the one in my sig. I also tried 1.09.XX.XX but had bad GPS signal reception.

Actually I have 1.09.25.23
Yes that was exactly the one I had with bad GPS signal. Maybe you wanna give 1.00.25.05 a try. After changing the radio ROM, my signal became perfectly stable even within a belt bag and fixes within 15-30s.

The desperate measure would be to disassemble the phone again and then reassemble it. Deserves another attempt... on your risk
hy guys...i try to reassemble my X1 three times but nothing...
Ask: in your opinion if i send my X1 to Sony they can fix it or my guarantee warranty expired???
same thing happened to me, but it just need little bit harder push on hardware antenna to click on place ( like i said that worked for me).
Thanks Sapa13...i will retry...

[Problem] Weak Signal

I just removed the antenna on my X1 and put it back on. Now the signal is very weak, in a house, where I always had a good signal quality it shows me no signal.
I found some threads with the same problem, but there was no solution...
So.. is there any possibility to solve the problem?
try "put it back" again?
clean contacts, make sure you screw it all in correctly...
try flash a new radio?
I have already done it. nothing changed...
Why did you remove it in the first place?
just wanted to see if another x1 with the same problem would work, if I put in an antenna from a working x1...
turn off 3g
it helped just a little bit... there are still locations where i had a signal and now not..

Can we extend our devices GPS Antenna?

I have disassemble my device once before to replace my digitizer but i didnt spot any antenna, maybe there is one but i didnt see it i dont know.
And if so, would an extended antenna improve the signal ?

Im sure Cyan had a option to use a bluetooth GPS module as default, (you select the internal GPS after first boot of the rom)
not sure about the hardware antenna, or if stock Roms have this feature.

Sorry i've been misunderstood. By extending i mean hacking / modding the hardware.
