My Note 5 sometimes deleting new Contacts I save
SM-N920C Marshmallow 6.0.1 Not Rooted
That issue was happening from time to time since I bought the phone and it was on Lollipop 5.1.1
Anyone else experiencing this issue???
I'm having same issue on my 920g, 5.1.1 custom rom

Anyone else facing the above issue?
I have been. I'm still on lollipop, Sprint, and not rooted. It's been doing it since I got the phone. I've tried saving to different locations and that doesn't seem to matter.
How can we send email to Samsung to fix this issue, or it's related to Google??
I have same problem. 920C... Any idea?
nobody has a solution, it happens constantly ...
Have you tried checking the Contact Settings - Which account/folder are the contacts being saved in? I prefer for all contacts to be saved in "Device" - There could be synchronization issues with your saved contacts if you are saving under Google/WhatsApp/Viber etc which could be to blame.

I'm experiencing a strange problem. I recently upgraded to a note 3 and my wife recently upgraded to an iPhone 5s. Ever since these upgrades my wife has not been receiving my SMS messages. She is able to receive MMS messages from me. Others that have the 5s can receive SMS from me. Had anyone else experienced this?

you didn't de-register from iMessage..you have to do this otherwise it'll keep going to your inactive apple acct..the geniuses over at the genius bar didn't tell you that I suppose
I don't think this is it. I had a Note 2 before upgrading to the Note 3 and I didn't experience this problem with the Note 2. I've been on the phone with AT&T tech support on this issue and they now suspect something is wrong with my wife's iPhone 5S because they can see the message getting sent from my device (Note 3) to her device (iPhone 5S) across their network. Yet it doesn't show on her phone. Actually, just yesterday my wife received all of the SMS messages I've sent to her over the last few days all at once -- something like 24 messages. So far she's been receiving my SMS messages as normal now since they all came in at once yesterday so I don't know what the problem was. Tech support wanted her to do a factory reset on her phone, but she didn't do that because it would erase all her text messages.
UPDATE:
I'm pretty confident I know how to duplicate the problem now. This seems to happen when I turn on SMS support in Google Hangouts. I'm using Hangouts build 2.0.217 and as soon as I enable Settings->SMS->Turn on SMS in Hangouts I experience this problem. I have no idea why it happens and why it happens only for a specific phone number. I've turned off that setting and am back with using the stock messenger now. I hesitate to turn it on again because it usually takes a few days for all the messages I send to get to my wife's phone.
This has happened to me twice...On 2 different Moto X's and with 2 different Gmail accounts.
On both devices I created a new gmail accounts and used it to sign in on my new Moto x. Worked fine for a few days and out of nowhere I get an error about the password being incorrect/account locked, followed by instructions to reset/confirm password from the a browser.
After confirming on a browser the account will work...but only for a few days and the same error will come up.
I am terribly confused and frustrated cause the phone is basically useless without a Gmail.
Am I missing a setting on the phone? In Gmail from a browser? Kit Kat bug? Any ideas?
Any suggestions would help.
Thanks

Could updating to Kit Kat before signing into Gmail create an issue? If so why? All tech support people I have spoken to have only the generic response/trouble shooting suggestions...
I desperately need your knowledge and help...Thanks
My guess is someone trying to get into your Gmail. Lol If they try to guess your password enough time it will lock you out. Just as you've said. I can't see how the phone can tamper with your password and have never heard of that being an issue.
Better think hard about anyone who may really wanna see what you have in your email.

The Gmails were brand new, created just for the phones.
Well, not sure what to say. Never heard of this issue ever. Did you google it? See if anyone has had this issue?
If there's nothing on google... Then no way does it have any thing to do with your phone.
Someone is either trying to get into your account. Or somehow you are messing up the password and locking yourself out.

I know its not the phone, I was just wondering if anyone has heard or seen this issue. Its not me putting in the password incorrectly bc when I intially put in the account and password it connects and syncs just fine for a few days. Then when I send a gmail or download an app, I get the error.
Thats why I was wondering if its an issue with Kit Kat, or if installing the update first and adding the account after may be causing the issue.
I have generall knowledge and have had many Android phones and this is the first time I have ever encountered an issue like this.
I have factory reset
Got a warranty replacement
and even tried 2 brand new gmail accounts
and it continues to happen.
Any Ideas?
Thanks again
Once it happened to me as well but after I cleared app data the issue solved.
Happened once to me a while back. Apparently had to confirm my Gmail account info first and then it was unblocked

I have HTC One on android 4.3. Randomly the contact pictures in the stock messaging app disappear. Sometimes they appear again by themselves. Most contacts have been linked to Facebook so pictures come from there but some have fixed pictures assigned. I see other people complaining about this and one suggested a fix to remove all contacts from SIM card. I just checked and my SIM is new so it only has 6 contacts like police, fire and other emergency numbers which cannot be deleted. There are no other contacts on SIM and i have selected not to display SIM contacts in my phone book. Still problem is the same.
Anyone else knows of the issue and maybe a fix ?
Same here on my one with viperone 5.0

Really? This still happens? I remember it happened to me all the time back on older versions of Android on my One but it stopped happening after 4.3 I think. I would recommend wiping app data or even a factory reset but I know that won't solve the problem. Maybe try ARHD 51 or Renovate, I haven't had any issues with those roms when it came to the pictures disappearing.
Ok i got the kitkat and sense update and it resolved the issue.

Hey, I got my Xiaomi Mi5 a little over a week ago and recently noticed that a few times a friend has sent an SMS and I have not received it. Unfortunately I am unable to replicate the problem.
I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem and managed to fix it?
I am currently on MIUI version 7.2.4.0.0 (MAACNDB) <-- Installed by vendor but I'm not sure if that could be causing the problem. I have not switched yet as it would ruin any chance at returning the phone.
I have made a switch back to the default SMS app (I was using Google Messenger) but am not sure if this has fixed the problem yet.
Any help regarding the issue or speculation if this is a hardware or software problem would be appreciated.
Thanks
Hi, I am having the same issue.
Did you find a solution?
Thanks
Hi,
Just got the verizon S8 a week ago and this has been driving me nuts. When my gf calls, her name doesn't come up. Only displays her number. My contacts are on my gmail account. All other contacts i have show up. She has an iphone and her name showed up on my old s5. Her phone is already set to display caller ID and so is mine. I spend like a few hours aday trying to troubleshoot this.. No luck whatsowever. Weird thing is, sometimes when she calls, her number appears with a ;oli=62 behind it. Example: 714-555-5555;oli=62. I googled oli (originating line information) but it makes no sense to me..
Things i've tried already:
1) resync gmail contacts
2) deleted her contact on gmail/phone/etc
3) readded her contact to phone internal storage and also gmail again
4) tried in safe mode to see if a application is blocking it
5) rebooted phone of course
6) re-adding her contact info with her data deleted from gmail
7) called verizon support
8) and last but not least.. reset/restored original s8 to factory
HELP.. i was gonna try to exchange the phone for another s8 but i really don't think that might be the issue.. i tried researching IPHONE issues with caller ID not showing up but all her settings seems correct.
Thanks in advance.
Same...
I'm having the same issue on my Note 5 after updating to Nougat. I'm having the issue with only one friend, no one else.
I found a temp fix. Go to your a computer and log into your Google contacts. Add that weird number. Example. 555-555-5555;oli=62 to the contact along with the regular number. That should fix it.

Same issue on my new s8+, adding the number plus ;oli=62 on the Google contacts via editing from your Google contacts from googles website works great, thanks for the work around. The only problem I have with these Samsung devices is the slow ass updates. Their still on 7.0 even though 7.1.2 has been released for months
Me too. I have a Note 5 on VZW. Pretty sure it started after the Nougat update as well. And also for only one contact. I know I could add those characters to the contact info, but I want to know why the heck it happens for only one contact. Found this info (not that it cleared up jack for me, lol) - https://www.dialogic.com/webhelp/IMG1010/10.5.3/WebHelp/oli_isdn_sip.htm
i have this same problem. It is on a S6 and has been happening since before the Nougat update. It only happens to me for 2 contacts 1 full time and the other off and on. If i look at the missed calls screen afterwards the phone displays the correct contact just during the incoming call is it not displaying.
the problem actually stopped for me around the time of the roll-out and then started back up a week or so later.
The only connection that i can find is that both of them use Family mobile (T-mobile) service.
Last time i researched this problem, i found the same problem a few years ago with T-mobile and VOIP phones but never found a solution
its the feds
Are you just being a douche or are you serious?

This is the same problem I'm having. I have the S8 on Verizon the two contacts whose numbers don't work are both on T-Mobile. One of the numbers it happens to constantly and has the xxx-xxx-xxxx;oli=62 while the other number does it intermittently w/o the extra's at the end.
"Me To" Bus
Ok, I'm a "Me to" I blocked all phone calls except for people in my contacts, because of all the Spam calls.
But my best friend gets blocked because of this problem.
I have a Samsung S4 Note, Also using Verizon. And google contacts.
I'm going to save him only under Verizon Contacts. And see if that does anything.
He is using a Blu Phone and also using T-Moble.
Anyone have any idea's?
Jim
my phone just started doing this when I installed a reminder ap. I uninstalled it, and it stopped. Hope this helps.
