I have just newly bought this Huawei P9 with 64gb int mem and 4gb ram. I really am fond of taking pictures. It was not just 5 days ago and early this morning it kept prompting that internal memory is FULL.
I thought it was just an error and restarted the phone. After restart, I checked my gallery and found that ALL my photos are gone.
I have tried almost all the apps I could find in playstore or on the net. I am no expert on this. Maybe someone has a solution to this? I would very much love to recover my photos.
Same here...

I encountered the same issue with my EVA-L19 and it deleted all my media from my Internal Storage, sometimes even resetting my Developer Options and other stuff. Its been happening for a while now and I can't seem to find a fix...

Hello Everybody. Thank you all in advance for any help you can give a noob with the Captivate. I tried searching for similar threads and I couldn't find any.
I just got this phone about a month ago and have not modded it on my own and have only installed applications through the marketplace and added music/taken pictures.
It is an unlocked (how it was unlocked I don't know, the cell phone shop had it done for me) and I use it with TMobile. I don't know if it is rooted, or if it is Froyo XYZ, etc and all I was told is that I am not to do a system reset of the phone to get it back to original factory settings or else they'd have to jump through hoops again to get it working again (I had problems getting it to receive MMS and get online before)
The issue I am having is that all of a sudden yesterday, I got a red notification icon on the very top of the phone and it told me that my Internal Phone Storage was full or nearly full. And then shortly after that.. I received another notification that my text message box was full and some new messages were refused because it's full.
I quickly deleted all of my text messages (about 20 threads or so) except for one old one that had some important simple text info on it (no mms). But that didn't fix the problem. I still received the text message full notice even after I turned off the phone, pulled out the battery and restarted it after a minute or so.
I also uninstalled many of the games and fonts and applications that I had installed through the marketplace and tried restarting my phone yet again and still nothing. I had most of the apps except one or two on there for at least a 2-3 weeks so got rid of the few that I just installed this week.
I was unsure what types of things affect what portion of the Internal Phone Storage and what types affect the Internal SD (I don't have an external sd card but may get one if that helps). Applications are stored and ran from where, if the amount of text messages affect either (tho I had already cleared out the mailboxes).
The settings showed:
Internal SD Card:
Total Space: 13.03 GB
Available Space: 11.88 GB
Internal Phone Storage:
Available Space: 189 MB
I called the support at Samsung and they were absolutely no help at all saying that the Internal SD Card and the Internal Phone Storage were one and the same and they share the 16GB total (which is possibly true in one being a smaller partitioned space for system useage while the other larger partition is for things like Media). The thing that got me was when I asked them what kinds of things take up space in the Internal Phone Storage vs Internal SD and basically asked them which one the text messages affect and which one the applications affect, they said that both affect both. Well in that case, I should have plenty of space seeing as I have 11.88GB of SD left. His solution was to to restore to factory settings.
I felt that they were not able to tell me and tried the Chat. They told me something else altogether for the most part... that the Internal Phone Storage is not used for Anything at all and everything is run and stored in the Internal SD. Her solution was to to restore to factory settings.
Basically they were no help and just kept pushing to restore to factory settings, so I just decided to uninstall just about all the apps/games/live wallpapers that I installed (I can't touch the crap that AT&T had on it when I got it new) and it seems to have worked.
Now my Internal Phone Storage:
Available Space: 215 MB (while it seems to have gone down from 216 yesterday after I uninstalled all the stuff)
I don't want this to be a temporary fix since my phone Should be able to do all the cool things and have cool apps and games and the like and shouldn't be a barebones phone, otherwise I could have gotten a much much cheaper non touch screen Nokia not so smart phone if all I wanted to do was talk and text on it.
I don't think that the media should be making much a difference considering I only have about 1.5 GB used up and what would be the use for having a boasted 16GB internal storage if it craps after less than 1/6 of it's capacity?
So if anyone could help with finding a permanent solution for this so I can go back to having a cool smart phone!
Would I be able to buy an external mirco sd and then install/store/run all the applications on there?
Does the text messages take up much space and where is that stored?
Again, I thank any and all help in advance!!!
well, there is a free sim unlock tool in the android development section of the forums.
Then you could flash stock (seeing as the phone doesn't require a sim card to turn on and function), then sim unlock.
Then do as you please with it.
I actually tried that when I first hot the phone before I gave it back to the cell phone shop to unlock and unfortunately it didn't work.
And the phone storage and text message thing happened again today and all I have done w the phone since yesterday was pair it w a blue tooth headset. Again the phone storage full notification popped up first and then the text message full notification popped up right after. I ended up installing the rest of the apps and still only have about 240mb of internal phone storage! Then the text notification also went away.

I'm having this problem as well so do you think that it is a simple internal phone storage shortage? I have only 165mb free and I KNOW for a fact that it is stopping me recieving texts as I get text notifications when someone tweets me and I have stopped recieving them, instead getting notifications that my text memory is full. Furthermore, I deleted a thread with over 400 messages in it to no avail so I shall get rid of some programs/move them to SD card until the memory full error goes.
SORRY I POSTED THIS IN THE WRONG DEVICE SUB-FORUM! MY APOLOGIES!
I'm using TurboStock. A few days ago, I started having this issue were my Gallery, Camera, and basically any other app that involved me using my internal or external memory, say that I don't have any more memory available on my phone, when I have at least 3 gigs of external SD space and 2 gigs of internal space. I found out that the issue has something to do with the Google Frameworks Services process, if I clear the data and reset the phone, it all starts working again, but after a few minutes, the issue comes back again.
I'm pretty sure this had something to do with me transferring songs over Songbird. After I made the transfer and disconnected my phone, I started having this issue. Any ideas on why the issue might be coming up again?
I posted this thread as to share my experience with the phone and to advise people to backup your files regularly or on a weekly basis.
It all started when I was in an event "Run or Dye". I took my HTC One with me mounted on a retractable pole and adapter, took a bunch of nice photos and recorded videos of the event up until the last recording from my phone went dead. After the event I was still able reviewed my photos and videos but one the video was corrupted (as it did not finish recording the time the battery went dead).
A few days later, I tried reconnect my HTC One on my computer to see if I can salvage a copy of the corrupted video using a video editor, no go.) I was also copying the rest of the images but I wasn't able to do so (copied the folder but empty files), I tried rebooting/restarting my phone and the next thing I know, I opened up my gallery, and my photos were gone (everything including videos/folders/songs) and it wiped everything my phone's storage (32Gb) memory.
From a 8Gb free storage left of music/photos/files it went to 23Gb free. My apps are still installed though. "Strange" I really don't know what happened.
No backups there, that's the worst part, I could've turned on my Dropbox auto-upload, I could've backup my files.. Well it's all too late for that. (Lesson learned!)
Has anyone experience this situation too?
I really don't know what's going on here...saturday evening I noticed that some photos were missing from gallery, same thing happened sunday evening...but yesterday the nano memory started erasing itself every couple of hours I lost everything I have in there, with (apparently) no reason.
I made a full reset, nothing changed. No errors while reading the nm card or while copying files on.
I am terribly confused
What size and brand of card is it?
I've had my VOG-L29 for two weeks now and I'm considering which particular card to buy. And which ones to steer clear of....
And I'm sorry, but I have no pointers to what your problem could be.
Original Huawei 128 GB nano memory card...I'm terribly confused, never had a problem like this! I have no strange apps or something that cleans phone automatically, so I really cannot understand what's going on...the card erased itself 3 times!! The last one took place immediately after I've restored everything on my phone, after a full reset.
40 hours later the situation seems stable, but who knows.............

Thank you.
That's not good for an OEM card, I'd understand if it was a cheap ebay one from China.
I have thought about your dilemma and I haven't a clue what could be the cause of random erasure. I haven't read any other similar experiences with a NM Card so maybe yours is a rare faulty one.
Hopefully someone else here may be able to offer advice.
Good luck
I have had the Huawei 256gb card for ages now. It's full of music, photos and music videos and no issues at all.
Is it only photos you're storing on the card or do you also store other documents too? Because if you're only using it for photos and the gallery keeps showing up as empty it may be possible that Huawei Gallery Sync is running and attempting to sync an empty cloud gallery to your NM card.

No it's not just for photos, I had documents, music and app data too...
Hello guys
I have a strange problem but first this is what i have.
sony xz1 compact stock firmware android 9 latest security update of september (fu sony)
Yesterday i wanted to play some music when suddenlly i got this message that said i can not play it or something like that and then tried dozen of other songs and nothing worked they all gave the same message except for a stock song that came with the phone that did work.
I restarted the phone but that didnt help then i thought ill look once i get home...
So i get home and look into it and suddenlly i notice they are all gone? except for the stock song that comes with the phone ?
All my songs gone in thin air how is this possible ??
I havent downloaded an app recentlly nor done anything to it my phone so what gives is this even possible do i have a virus? am i hacked? software corrupted somehow?
Afterwords i notice phone acts strange sometimes going into settings and go to storage makes my phone slow or crashes trying to look for my music but nothing there either.
I am super pissed because i was gonna put a custom mod on my phone anyway i was just trying to get some experience with root on an old phone first and then this happens ...
anyone happen to have heard of anything like this happening to someone before?
I made this thread cause i dont have a back-up of my phone more importantlly of my music so in the offchance there is away to find out what happend .....
I assume the music was on internal storage? Because if you had it on an SD card, there would still be ways to recover it. Otherwise, the chances are rather slim. You would have to get the internal storage out of the phone somehow and then scan it on the PC. But since the internal storage cards are usually firmly soldered, that would be very work intensive.
Yes it was on the internal storage.
But it is so weird man like how can this happen out of the blue ?

There's only two kinds of PC users; the ones who have lost data and those that will.
As NeoSeven pointed out store your data base on the SD card. Then back it up at least twice on electronically isolated hdds.
Not much help now but it will prevent future loses.
I avoid firmware updates if the device is running stable and does what I need.
Anything can happen.
After a major firmware update a factory reset is best. At least clear the system cache.
allright clear thanks guys
