I am on Nougat (latest update) and visual voicemail doesn't work for me. I get the notification but when I tap on it nothing happens. In the phone app I don't see anything related to the voicemails either, although I can see is turned on in the phone settings. This wasn't the case in Marshmallow. I'm on T mobile (USA). Anyone knows why this doesn't work?

Is anyone else having problems with T-Mobile Visual Voicemail? If you check the comments for the app, it seems like for many users the app simply isn't working at all (like myself). I've confirmed that VVM is active on my account, and it's always worked reliably until a few days ago, but now it won't pick up any new VMs. Even refreshing the inbox manually doesn't work. Any ideas?
It's happened to me once so far. I fixed it by killing the app then starting it back up. Don't think it was a permanant fix but it worked for now. Haven't had another vm since to see if it's still doing it though.
My problem is it often turns my speaker off after exiting the app. Then everything plays through the earpiece until I reset the phone.
I am running cyanogenmod 7 on my htc hero. every few minutes a notification comes up saying i have 2 new voicemails, and when i check, there are no voicemails. it also says voicemail pending. i can't get rid of it. i installed sprint visual voicemail and that doesnt work either. how do i fix this?
Voicemail Notification Problem
I finally got up the nerve to try a new ROM on my HTC Hero (CDMA) and installed the latest stable version of CM7 using the Rom Manger app. Everything worked great; however, anytime I reboot or power off/on I recieve a voicemail notification...but there is no voicemail. Is there a way to correct this?
Thanks to all who do this type of work. As a noob, I was very nervous about rooting and updating to a new ROM but this forum helped me overcome my fear.

Is the message from 9016? If so, try blacklisting that number (nearly every sms app but the stock lets you do this) to see if you get voicemail notifications without the sms.
No, the blocking of 9016 doesn't fix it. It just says that there is a voicemail (2 actually) waiting for you and when you call it is nothing. So, it's just kind of lying to you.
I rooted a few months back and just noticed I haven't been receiving voicemail notifications. Anyone else having this problem and/or have a fix?
I'm waiting for a simple way to root to 5.1, but in the meantime, would love to find a fix.
Thanks in advance

You may have Visual Voicemail enabled on your account (or if you had an iPhone in the past that uses a different voicemail.) Use the Verizon self serve website and make sure Visual Voice Mail is turned off. Or call Verizon customer service and tell them you aren't getting voicemail notifications without mentioning anything about mofo, root, etc.

Ok. I've never had an iPhone - I upgraded from a 1st gen Moto X. I went to the Verizon website and it doesn't look like I have visual voice mail turned on. I already called Verizon and all they do is recommend I take the latest OTA update..
The voicemail on my nexus 6 (cw, 32gb, 6.0.1 with Feb patch, completely stock) doesn't appear to be working. I hold down the 1 key in the phone to access the voicemail, and it says to dial a number to leave a message, or to access a voicemail on the device by pressing star. I press star, and enter my my ten-digit number like it asks, but it says it is invalid. So I go to my voicemail setting and hit set-up. There's an unfamiliar number, and so I assume that is the number it wants. I enter that as well, but it says this one is invalid as well. I called my carrier (consumer cellular) to reset my voicemail, and they did so. This did not solve my problem. To be clear, I've had this problem since the day I got the phone. My other nexus 6, moto g 3rd gen, and moto g 1st gen all set up voicemail smoothly without any this, and I was hoping someone could help me out with this.
which carrier do you use? i ask this because the n6 does visual voicemail, but it doesnt work on all carriers. oh, and since you are running , your voicemail options probably changed as well. yes, cm does this sort of thing very often.
btw, by visual voicemail i mean that it doesnt have to call out to get your voicemails, they automatically appear in your phone(to listen to).

My carrier is Consumer Cellular, and I switched on Visual Voicemail in the settings, but nothing changed. And my nexus is running pure stock. It's not rooted or modded in any way.
I currently have Verizon and they charge extra for visual voicemail, so I am of no help there, but I usually just dial my own phone number and it takes me to the voicemail service.
I'm not getting notifications when I receive a voicemail. Everything seems to be set up properly, and I'm able to see and play my voicemail in visual voicemail, but no notification comes through on receiving a voicemail. If I reboot my phone when a voicemail is waiting for me, I do get a voicemail notification when the phone boots back up, but I don't get notifications for any subsequent voicemails (unless I reboot again).
Are others seeing this behavior? And does anyone have any clues what might be causing it?
Hmmm. I also have the same problem, i won't see the voicemail unless i reboot.
Hmm this happened to me once, thought it was a quirk. Not good...
T-Mobile if that matters. First slow LTE, now this. Ugh.
I'm on T-Mobile too. Stinger051, are you also? Maybe this is a T-Mobile specific issue? OnePlus didn't seem to have any clue about it.

There's a similar thread on the OP forums, but I can't recall if it was T-Mobile specific or if it was all kinds of carriers around the planet. If I find it again, I'll post a link. I'm on ATT and as far as I know (it's really tough to know things you don't know ), I'm not having the problem. In fact, I get double-notifications, one is the regular symbol (is it an infinity symbol?) for a message on my VM, and the other is the ATT VVM app symbol.
Now and then I don't get a "so&so called" notification along with it, but I always "seem" to get the VM / VVM symbols. When I listen to VM using the 1 on the keypad (now and then), I never find something I hadn't gotten a notification about so it "might" be carrier specific.
Sure enough, just found another voicemail I had no idea about.
I submitted a bug about this:

Is anyone else noticing this problem? If so, please add to the bug thread on the OnePlus forum.
How to get voicemail notification
Hi everybody. I figured out a fix. Even though I have spent a lot of time on OnePlus Chat, was told to wipe the phone, and spent a remote session with One Plus they could not figure out the issue. Simply turning off "Visual Voicemail" in the phone app completely fixed the problem (even though the OnePlus people told me to make sure it was on!). In the phone app, go to Settings, then Call settings, then select your SIM card (1 or 2), then Voicemail, then switch Visual Voicemail to off. You will get voicemail alerts normally, but now you will not have visual voicemail. There is a T-mobile Visual Voicemail app that you could try to use instead, though. Hope this helps
