Moto service center f-kd up my phone? What happened here? - Moto X4 Questions & Answers

Bought my phone in November and until May it was working perfectly, I thoroughly enjoyed the phone.
During the installation of the April security patch my phone got stuck and I had to reboot it.
As a result, Android didnt work anymore. Even after hard resetting the phone was super slow and full of errors.
I sent it back to an official Moto service center; so they could reset the firmware.
When I finally received my phone back, I notice there were marks on the back-glass that werent there before.
the "repair paper" said that "broken parts have been replaced".
The phone works quick again, except that the loudspeaker cracks really bad on 80% volume... and when calling I can hear a very soft but subtle abnormality in the speaker as well.
I also notice a small delay with the fingerprint scanner, which wasn't there before.
When I look into the android recovery menu I can see that this phone has a different serial number than the one I sent to them.
- Do you also think they gave me someone elses phone? Because my loudspeaker didnt crack at all at high volume.
- Is this legal ?
Simply repairing android doesn't require opening up the phone to "replace the motherboard", right?

Seems like they had to replace mainboard. Which is logical, because Android errors might have been a result of damaged memory.
At least this would explain serial number change.
And the speaker problem might be a result of incorrect assembly after the repair. (this happened once to me, when I received my Lumia 930 after the repair, headphones jack was not working correctly. It did not react when headphones were connected - fortunately, when I started to move the plug in the socket, the socket "jumped in" into its place and it started to work again)
I'd return the phone and request them to fix the problems you described. I don't think much more can be done on the discussion forum

No Sound

My Hd7 stopped working suddenly wouldn't load the os even after soft resett etc. - not dropped or anything. I took it to a repairer who said it neded new touch screen although there was no sign of any physical damage. He said it must have been due to power surge or something! Anyway new screen ($250) and everything seemed fine except no sound whatsover including when using the phone. Repairer said the speaker must be damaged and offered to repair it for the cost of the speaker kit ($65). However, new screen and speaker etc still no sound. Repairer thinks it might be 'the board' and is investigating. Has anyone else had a no sound problem and had it fixed? If so I would really like to know how. The HTC HD& is costing me a fortune and it still doesn't work.
Thanks for reading as I sob quietly to myself!
why didn't you send to htc service centre instead of 'unofficial' service centre.worried they might ask you to pay again fro the mistakes they have done.

[Q] Camera, LED, headphones not working. Hardware issues?

My girlfriend's N1 has gradually developed some problems. At first the headphones were not being recognized properly. Then camera stopped working. Now that I've taken a look at it the flash light does not work either. If you call someone, 4 times out of 5 the screen goes blank and you cannot end the call. Sometimes this happens when receiving calls as well.
I was using CM7 before and no additional apps were installed. Tried with or without SD card, rebooting, resetting to factory defaults, putting another ROM, restoring to factory ROM.
The symptoms:
- any camera app starts with a black screen and later throws wait/close dialog
- flashlight apps seem to work but no light is coming out
- headphones do not get recognized, tried 4 brands, compressed air, pushing, pulling, pressing. Not a lint issue.
- immediately after pressing a call I get a black screen which I can come out of by pressing a random combination of keys
I tried moving the camera and LED modules with my finger but nothing happened.
Everything else works: calls, trackball with led, bluetooth, wifi.
I had a similar problem with the flash and camera and it was fixed when I swapped out the main board which also has all the ports your having problems with

That sounds unfortunate because the original seller has now closed the shop: site is offline, amazon and ebay products are delisted, does not respond to email.
Even worse, I'm located in Germany and bought the phone here, but I don't really speak the language well enough to contact consumer protection authority and even the HTC support site is all in German. Original box and warranty are in my home country. Sounds like a recipe for disaster.
I've written a mail to HTC support since GooglePhone has closed shop as well.
Since I'm still on a rant, touchscreen has been acting up since day one, upon heating it registers wrong touches, but this is already a known issue.
It was a nice phone while it lasted, but in hindsight I wouldn't recommend it to anyone anymore. It still looks like new fwiw.

Hardware
Its hardware issue caused mayb y dropping the N1
so try to replacing ur main board or mayb u can get it repaired if u have a good engineer around u
Thank If my reply helps u ..
Just as an update, the issue with all these phones is the ribbon cable connecting headphone jack, camera, proximity sensor and perhaps [front] speaker. It's probably an easy replacement and the part cost is around 25-40$. The cellphone repair guy said that he has done it a lot of times for this phone type, so it's probably a production/engineering issue.

[Q] Microphone not usable

Hi,
I'm unable to use my microphone on my Phone. When I call someone they can't hear my voice. When I launch the Google Search Mic, it doesn't detect any sound unless I scream or hit the phone, but the gray circle isn't big (meaning its not picking up too much sound). However, when I run the diagnostics tool within settings, I can hear even whispering.
This issue started since a few days ago. I was at a pool party and had the phone in my pocket. All ports were sealed, phone ON. I was recording audio at the time. I went in through the shallow end and I realized I had my phone in my pocket, 5 mins later. My phone was OFF when I pulled it out. When I powered it back ON after getting a towel to dry it, it did some weird sequence ( SONY logo, then picture of a triangle with a wrench and screwdriver inside). I had to hold the Power + Volume up to get out of it. I powered it back on and it booted into the OS, surprisingly. I found there were no problems...except for the mic. I dried my phone and all, no water internally.
Just yesterday I restarted my phone to clear out some RAM. I notice it was doing this weird sequence again, except that time instead of the triangle with a wrench it was a picture of android, progress bar on the bottom. It rebooted again to the OS, nothing's different.
Here's my configuration:
-STOCK 14.1.G.0.534
-C6903
-No Warranty
-Locked bootloader
-No Root, recoveries, and busybox
I flashed everything to defaults using SUS to see if it's a software problem, but that didn't fix it. I factory reset and it didn't work. What can I do to fix this? Is there an app I can download to amplify the mic (or file)?
Using Earbuds fixes the issue. But I don't prefer it attached to my phone all the time.
Flash and Update to the latest Firmware and check is the problem persist, wipe everything. If you do not want the latest FW then Update to JB 4.3 FW .136. It doing crazy so I will recommend to upgrade and wipe all. if then the problem still there and it still go out of software then I will start think about something worse than just a Software problem.

I forgot to mention on my post: When I use Speaker phone the mic works. I turned off the Mic suppression and tried with speaker phone off, but nothing.
I'm upgrading the phone to latest atm, will report back.
Upgrade did not help me.
Isn't there 2 mics on this phone? Maybe 1 of them broke...not sure.
Is this a hardware issue?

I looked at the service manual and saw there are two mics: one on the top at the back of the phone, and one on the bottom inside the speaker. I used Audacity to generate a mid-high range frequency of sound. I connected earbuds to my laptop and put the ends to the mics. The mic on the top back of the phone picks up sound. The mic inside of the speaker doesn't.
EDIT: Started the service menu. Secondary mic is ok, primary mic broken.
I'm convinced this is a Hardware issue. If I send my phone to Sony to service the primary microphone, how much will it cost, minus the inspection fee? Estimates are ok.

No body can tell. Just ask them.

RMA request

Advice for RMA request
practically following various tests with my device, I have ascertained that there is a hardware problem that cause reboots.
How can I procede to open AN RMA request to RALME?
Could you kindly give me some advice?
thank you very much
"EngineeringMode"
So did you already go into "EngineeringMode" to supposedly test all hardware? (i say supposedly since who knows for sure if these tests actually are accurate or not but i assume if you get an error or faulty code this will be ultimate proof to show realme) To go into this mode, you have to go into your phones dialer pad and enter: *#899#
fyi, the issue with my phone is that when i initiate a call(either by someone calling me or me calling someone) the bottom mic(main mic) does not work. I have to go into speaker mode and then switch back to handset mode for the bottom mic to work - and in case you care, i also have a handset speaker problem, the top speaker is very dam loud even at the lowest setting. This looks to me is more of a software problem than hardware or combination of both, since i already tested the mic many times in EMode but skeptical in the results - per my statement above.
I guess my answer above is not really an answer to your question, rather is just informative. GL
Unfortunately my device has reboot problems even when I have installed the clean system, example or the colorOS, or even the lineageOS.
I believe the internal card is damaged
