Simcard tray not fitting properly - Sony Xperia XZ2 Questions & Answers

Is anyone else having issues with theirs? Mine sticks out about 0.5 mm on one side which makes it pretty much useless if you were to submerge it for various reasons.

Working here.
A hardware damage?

Nah it was like that when I got it. That is, after I removed it the first time. Haven't started using this as my daily driver till now actually.

Try pushing it slightly sideways then down. Mine does this. I can sit it correctly but it takes some pushing sideways a little.

Can't remove back cover!!

I've been using my Touch Diamond for a couple of days now, and just read about the lens protector that apparently needs to be removed in order to take decent pictures.
Now I find, that it is impossible for me to remove the back cover!! I tried all sort of ways of pressing and sliding, but now I'm afraid to damage the device by using too much force...
Have any of you guys have similar problems?
Does have something to do with the heat build-up from the battery the expands the plastic cover?
Clean the back side so you have friction, and push UP. Should work. Just did it

That worked! You are GOLD, thanks.
Or you could throw it really hard towards the floor. Should also work...
I'm sorry, I couldn't resist
this has to be one of toughest problems ever to be resolved here!
a hammer would have helped...
I find taking the stylus out and pushing from that corner the easiest way. Its a bit of a pain to get off if you have greasy hands!!
this sounds disgusting. it sounds like his phone is submersed in oil and he needs to wash it to remove the cover =\
i also heard if you rub the diamond against your head several times then place it against a wall...it will stick..like a balloon.
now you try =\
Dude, WTF, you're a puss. You couldnt get the back cover on the phone open?
Clicky-clicky!
As you know by now, I managed to get the back cover off (...), but now I'm anoyed by a clicky-clicky unstability on the back - along the right side just above where it says "HTC innovation". It seems there too much room (or something) just under that spot.
Anyone else experiencing this?

My Diamond has a very solid feel, so I'm afraid I can't help you there. Just to make sure: are you certain the back cover is well inserted?
Trust me, I have (tried to make sure that it's properly inserted). I'm now considering sticking some aluminum foil in there - as this should also act as a heat sink (I'm also experiencing intense heat from the processor when WiFi is turned on for more than 5 minutes).
Maybe then the foil will also fill out that extra space, I don't know.
In general, I think that the back cover is VERY poor quality and really needs to be redone/redesigned. The diamond shapes on the back is a mess, as the device rocks back and forth when you have it on a completely flat surface (like a table) and operate the screen/buttons. It should be made with a completely flush back and a more sturdy plastic material (thicker, at least). Don't you think?

Probably a bad idea. Sure aluminium might transfer heat well, but it also transfers electricity very well.
If yours is asloose as you say there's the risk of it moving and making Sony-style exploding battery fireworks.
What if the foil just sits in the bottom part and doesn't come into contact with the battery? Does that still present a risk?

I don't have a Diamond yet to answer that properly. It was just a general warning about putting metal foil in electronics. If you can see ANY way for it to move from where you put it to any other component or connector - don't do it. And that includes small parts of foil that may flake off from rubbing when the case moves (which is exactly what you're trying to stop, soit's potentially an issue).
I'd not risk it myself, but you probably wouldn't die. Probably. Much.
By the way, I tested the aluminum foil, and it worked well to remove the clicky-clicky sensation/sound, but I quickly removed it again after reading the warning above.
Can anyone suggest an alternative material to fill the gap?

Yes on two different Diamonds, poor design, or design flaw.
Clicky-clicky has gone bye-bye!
I found another solution:
Cut a business card (not too thick) in half and place it over the battery on the inside of the back cover. Slide the back cover back on. No more clicky-clicky!
Today i spent what seemed like an hour attempting to remove the battery cover on my touch pro and FINALLY did it! I wonder why HTC made it so difficult. To fix the creaking problem, i just put some strips of tape on my battery cover and that stopped the problem

Tightening Your Kaiser Screen (?)

Hello Everyone,
Does anyone know how or has anyone seen anything about doing this. Please point me in the right direction. I've been in the forum searching for a few days now.
What do you mean tightening?
Interesting you'd bring this up. My first Tilt's screen was solid, hardly any play at all. It became loose, and I returned it and got a refurb which was worse. I just returned that one (different issue) and it's solid. What he means (I think) is that the space between the two halves is more than it should be. I'm not sure of what causes this variance, but, it's annoying. Especially when you tap the screen because it gets all jostled around.
I'd imagine that you'd have to have a jeweler's screw driver or such, and get to some tiny screws somewhere.

I was assuming me means tightening the 'tilt' mechanism (brackets)??

I have had this one for quite a while, would that matter.
Is there a way to tighten the tilting mechanism on the kaiser if or when it loosens up a bit?
I've done a quick google but found nothing.

mine is getting that way. it's not bad, yet. but it's getting that way
I think I might give it a shot at figuring it out. I saw a modification to make tilt straight so somewhere in there may be th ething to make a little more stiff.
I'd venture a guess and say that for those who's screens have become more and more loose over time, it would be a screw to tighten. (or a few) BTW, the new one I got today is tight as the abs of steel girl's butt...
I have a similar issue and I need soe guidance. My screen is "shifting". The two halves are not matching up evenly any longer. There is about a 1/16" overhang of the top half and the bottom half when the phone is closed.
Any help to loosen and then shift the top half so it is equal to the bottom would be appreciated.
I had this problem, too, and fixed it myself. Here's the thread where I talk about it. There's a little rubber bumper at the end of each slider track and mine were malformed, so I added some layers of plastic to make them thicker. Check out the pics in this thread to see where the bumpers are:

my second nook color.....

Long story short I had to exchange my first one due to it creeking on the left side and a red ghosted arc in the middle. Now my second has bad power button. Anyone else have any issues? Kinda getting annoyed.

Mine creaks on the left hand side and so does my friend's. Seeing as it doesn't have any effect on functionality, we're perfectly fine with them. My friend's first one had a volume problem where it muted it self permanently every time the screen locked. They seem to have a lot of design issues.
Kinda dissapointed but for 250...... should I be picky? They told me if I had anymore problems I would have to send it in. That's garbage imo.
Mine is perfect. No creaks. I must be lucky.

Why the canadians gotta get all the good ones?!?!?!?!?!?
I've had 2 and both were creeky...
Other than that no issues...
Did I mention that my back cover seems to be lose or has a lil Play? I guess that is better than the creeking.
The creaking was driving me nuts, took the thing apart and wedged a small piece of paper between two plastic bits at the corners of the lanyard hole.

That danged 'feature' seems to be the cause. mine creaks on the bottom near it.
I have 2 nook colors and mine has a slight creak when I squeeze the top and put my ear against it but not really noticeable. Other than that all is great, I guess I am just lucky.

Forget that, Until my "30 day money back thing" is over id take it in everyday, maybe that B&N/BB/Walmart just cant stock shelves right.
Once thats over then youve got your 1-year warranty for sending it in.
And im not picky, mine creaks but Hardware problems like a button not working is unacceptable, for 250 I expect at least one year of use.

I have one as well, its towards the bottom corner near the N button..
Its not very noticeable, but since I know its there it drives me nuts...
Not going to risk another exchange since it might be worse than this one.
No dead pixels here. I have creaking though. I wonder if it's happened due to the case I have and how it locks in?

I had creeking straight out of the box. Its not your case.
On my second. First had a faulty volume button. This one has the creaking, but I can live with that.
i haven't noticed any creaking with mine but i think my charger is bad causing repeated random keystrokes when i use it while it's plugged in

Same here. I had this same issue with my galaxy epic4g...using a defective usb cable...i can live with the wonky kb while bein charged...just curious as to what it might be.
Maybe I'm lucky, but I don't have any of the problems listed here. I received my NC as a Christmas gift. It was even wrapped by B&N too! The only "problem" I've noticed is some very slight light bleed at the top center.

Video Die/Burn out?

So, been having the issue where the touchscreen doesn't respond.. fnally did the recovery and put t back to stock and didnt root.. let it run and do its nstalls and then DL'd subway surfers again.played it for maybe 10-15min max and it started doing t agan.. i went ot home screen and back to game and the chararters and items were black and then it had a hard time rsponding like it was sluggish and not reacting.
is it possible the video card or whatever may be "burned" ut or somthn.. nto sure what else to do.. any ideas? and would i call att or who to try and fix/swap out if u think its video?

Yes.. i thought it might be the game too, but sometimes ill just be swiping through the homescreens, app drawer, and othe rthings. it just doesn't respond.
right now i am testing something. I had/have the S-view flip case on it.. so i took that off and put the stock backing back on it. ive been playing it for a bit and so far nothing.. but.. the phone is also cold as F right now so not sure if its just that the phone hasn't heated up to possibly trip it or if thew s-view case really could be the culprit...
does this sound possible? i am most likely stopping by BB today since still within my 45days and going to possibly try and swap it out, and i think i might stay away from the s-view case.. never really used that screen anyway and the bumper protection is non existent.. haven't dropped the phone and there is already a slight nick on the side just from being in pocket.
I use an Otterbox case myself so i am not sure how an s-view fits. I have found in the past with some case if they have a lip that extends over the edge of the display it can sometimes cause false touches if it is touching the digitizer area on the display. If it touches in more than one spot this could confuse the display in that it does not know if you are tapping, swiping, or pinching.

Definitely root first with RDLV. Once you take the OTA you run the risk of the bootloader being patched and can potentially screw yourself out of a chance of getting a real recovery in the future.

Ive noticed that some games just genuinely do NOT like the 1920x1080 resolution and the buttons have very small sections that actually work. A few games require me to use the s-pen to actually tap the buttons to go through menus. thought my digitizer was having issues until i found out almost everything else works perfectly in those same spots.

How to stop the slider sticking?

So, I got fed up of not having a hardware keyboard on my iPhone, and bought a used Droid 4 off eBay. The slider mechanism isn't great, though: first, it's quite stiff; second, it needs even pressure on both sides to close, otherwise it'll get stuck and won't close, and needs to be pushed fully open before closing it again. I had a Milestone 2 a while back, and it didn't suffer this sort of issue.
I'm guessing the slider mechanism needs cleaning and maybe lubricating. Does anyone have any tips for how to do this and what to use? Or is it beyond hope?
I also bought a used Droid 4 recently - and had the same issue. I tried this: http://www.droidforums.net/threads/keyboard-slider-stick-fix.172750/

Thanks for the link, I'll try that. How well did it work for you?
Not as good as new, but it's slideable without force. Beside that i don't know how good would be new.
Thanks! I didn't have any WD-40 to hand, but I followed the same procedure - clean with acetone first, that seemed to get rid of quite a bit of dirt and make a bit of a difference, then I used some 3-in-one oil I had around, and that makes the mechanism quite smooth. Now it opens and closes either by pushing it with my thumbs on the screen, or I can snap it shut from the middle. It's not working quite as well as my old Milestone 2 was, but then I did look after that phone pretty well.
WD 40 doesnt have good oil effect for long period. It is good for istant help, like rusty nuts. The perfect solution is special oil for saw machines.
