Anyway around the what I'm assuming is an 8 connection limit? Used to my note 4 with unlimited connections via galaxy tools.
With smart home devices I average 10-15 devices.

I often download files off of megaupload and rapidshare. On my computers i can download 800mb files in about 60 seconds. However my tab can take over 20 minutes for the same file on the same network. What is limiting my tab speed? Is the the wifi chip on my tab?
Ive had no success in researching this.
Try getting a download manager

While I might have borked the math, 600mb in 60 seconds means 100megabits per second. Do you have a wifi n connection? Because otherwise the theorical peak is 54mbps, and, even if this could be an issue with my setup and not the Galaxy tab itself, I reached up to 25mbps (connected to a wifi n access point)

wifi is always slower than a wired connection, and phones/tablets have lower power wifi than a laptop or a desktop adapter would have so thus slower. If you're running G instead of N wireless that's also a big difference..
I have a Note 2 and would like to get a Note 3, but I have one concern.
My Note 2 is rooted and has tethering enabled. I'm on an ATT unlimited data plan. When I get into my car and the phone connects to bluetooth, NFC Task Launcher automatically enables tethering.
Can I do something similar on the Note 3 without rooting? It's the only thing holding me back.
I've ran the Speedtest from my labtop and S6 edge on the same AP separately from my desk. I've ran the test 3 times and the results were consistently faster by 10Mbps (down and up) from the labtop than S6 edge. It seems something is limiting the Wi-fi speed on S6. Is there anything I can do to bring the Wi-Fi speed of S6 equal to labtop?
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that's pretty normal variance. Different hardware, different results.... ie.., Both on 5ghz network w/900mbs WiFi rate and blast Internet at 125ish down..
My laptop with Killer WiFi blah blah brand new, 120+- down pretty consistent.
Rooted S6E 2 days old 115mbps down +- a few.
I'd say all is normal, unless your laptop is 120+ and phone at 30.... then there is an issue.
try to activate air plan mode .. then deactivate it
I have network unlocked Galaxy Note 8 N950U1, it's been working very good until I updated January software N950U1UEU3BRA5, keyboard messed up, keep acting crazy, tethering with my laptop is very slow like less than 1MB download, tethering speed used to be very fast up to max speed of the speed test I made on phone. I do speed test on my note 8 itself, download speed average between 80mb to 99mb where I live, but when I test speed while tethering, download speed is less than 1mb. I am so upset now and I don't know whether it causes by new firmware update. Does anyone have this issue?
No one Can help you. Hardreset.
Thanks, however I found out that tmobile blocks high speed data when tethering even I have unlimited data. I tried Verizon sim card on my phone and then tethering, speed is as fast as on the phone itself. So, I know tmobile blocks internet speed when tethering unless I subscribe with "Hotspot tethering", I guess. I hope I can find way to work around.

Ok so what I want to achieve is a way to use my previous pixel device that still has unlimited and unmetered full quality back ups for photos.
Is there a simple way to sync specific folders from my pixel 4 to a pixel 3/2 device, preferably using NFC or wifi direct (for fastest possible transfer speeds)
Data usage incurred by transferring the pixel 4's media files to older pixel is not a problem for me.
Extra info that may come into play
I have both devices within 5 metres of each other and the older devices is connected to the pixel 4's hotspot whenever wifi internet is unavailable. And if it is they are connected to the same network.
All accounts on both devices are logged into the same user.
Same Google account logged into both.
