Hello
Recently my device fails to reboot itself
I was with him in CM10. Then he began to have trouble running, absorption, and performance
Then I decided to lower it to CM 9 and solved at first, but then they grew and I could not format the device at all
What the device really shows me where this picture is off of the battery when I plug it into electricity.
Picture up and burns out until I physically take out the battery and has no access to electricity
Please note the battery is full and original.
I found a partial solution to insert the device via Odin and made burning GB version 2.3.5 with the PIT file. Full versions.
Although the device was. But I can not turn it off at all. Because if he turns off it returns to I said before you can not turn it at all and it displays the image with battery power connections.
What can you do?
Please help me! I have no idea how to solve the problem!
If u success in flashing stock 2.3.5 with ODIN without any failure and still become like that, only one problem: hardware failure.

Hello
I had some trouble with a bricked SGS for about 3 weeks ago but got it on the run again with some flashing help.
Now i have this strange problem. If i turn it off or if it just goes black out, which it has begun to do after i flashed it, then it can't turn on, it just show the sun looking loading icon and then a empty battery icon and then turns off.
I can't load recovery mode with the combo, but i can make the download mode combo work.
But if i connect the phone with the charger/usb i recognize it and show that it charging up. Now it boot and shows the Galaxy I9000 model no. image.
Had tried flashing newer versions From XXJPO -> XXJPY -> XWJS3 and both with and without pre-partition and it still occur.
Now the question: Does any of you experienced people know this problem and can it be fixed somehow ?
Thank you in advance
First i would liik to charge phone for 24 hours and also check with another battery .

The battery don't seem to be defected. Once the phone is booted with a cable connected, it goes without problems. It just will not boot without a charging signal.
Bump - Still actual
Try using Block 2 Odin method here to go back first to Eclair and if that works test phone then upgrade to Froyo .

That happened to me a while back and I couldn't find a fix for it. Ended up doing the above and it resolved it.

Hello everyone,
I too have the same issue as stated in the first post.
I even had issue sometimes that when boot up.
The USB notification icon wouldnt turn off even if i wasn't connected.
Some threads suggested that I clean the USB port, which i did and nothing changed, even if it looked a little bit dirty in there (Hard to say since it is really small).
Now the USB port looks just as new but same issue: I cant power on the unit witout having it connected with a power cord.
Also, when offline in download mode, Odin detect the unit and I can flash my device (Which I did yesterday by flashing UGJH2 re-partition and UGJL2 not re-partition) but when boot up, I can't make it to sync up with the computer. No sync possible (Also now I'm not rooted anymore).
The unit is under warranty but since it is unlocked with a tool that needed rooting to lock back, abviously I would need to be rooted again but to do it, I need to be able to sync it with my PC (No cant do here).
I have some engineer at work that offered me to check it out for me, they think it is related with the USB port, but I'm worried about the warranty seal. I found how to disasemble it but does anybody knows where it could be located on the I9000M from bell (Vibrant)? Does it have one?
Anybody have any better suggestion or a second opinion, please?
Its my 3rd Galaxy S from Bell and Samsung is now the last company I would think when buying a new mobile.
EDIT: Did the Block 2 Method and now it doesnt even want to boot at all (Did the JPY_JPY_JPY.tar part), now it shows the loading sign even faster and the battery doesnt even show it self at all.
Hello again people!
Got my friend engineers to open the phone and they didnt find anything that would cause my issue (Also no warranty label...).
Does anybody knows how to root a Galaxy S with Froyo without a PC?
I want to return my phone to Bell Canada under warranty but my phone is unlocked and I want to lock it back before sending it back and I need to be rooted to do so...
Thanks for your help!
I got the same problem here. Could someone tell me more on this. What is this Block 2 ODIN method?
this problem can be caused by water or sweat that got inside the case of your sgs.
the biggest hole in the case is micro-usb port) i think condensation accumulated there and locked some contacts.
try to disassemble the phone and carefully clean and dry it.
this helped me.
Hello people,
I have searched a lot on google en XDA to solve my problem, but i can't find it. The temperature of my Samsung Galaxy s GT-i9000 is to low, to be exact -7° degrees.
The problem is that i can't charge my phone now. The phone says: Charging paused. Battery temperature is too high or too low.
Can anyone help me, is would appreciate it a lot!
That's unusual to be honest ^^ , maybe if you put your phone ( or the battery ) in a worm place this problem will be solved , lol i can't even imagine what you've done to make it -7degrees ..
If the temperature of the phone is nrml and you're getting this msg for no reason u can reset it to factory settings , this will probably fix any software problems.
Good luck
i have reset a lot of times my factory settings. Do you have more solutions? (sorry for my English, i speak dutch) Thanks
did u flash any rom?
How old is your phone(battery)
Try a factory wipe,as suggested in the above post, maybe it's an app that caused the prob
I know for sure it's not my battery because had a other battery in it and it said the same. What i was forgotten to say was that my computer recognize my phone as a samsung galaxy, that is really strange. He doesn't want to charge.
Can you manage to get into recovery mode (by clicking vol up+home+power)? If you can, go to "advanced>wipe battery stats", and see if that fixes the problem.
did u flash any rom(kernel) if not, then I think your battery chipset is broken.
If u did flash any rom try format your system in recovery and flash a new rom first from cwm and if this doesn't fix then format again and flash a rom with Odin
Good luck
Yes i can it didn't work. Could a Kernel help me? Or has anyone have a link to rom which could help me?
Stock rom(jvu) get it from sammobile.com or search for darky's rom and flash this through ODIN.if u never tried odin then search and read how to use it
Thanks i'll try to install the darky rom. I tell you if it helps and when it doesn't i tell is also.
Have you flashed custom rom before? If yes try darky or something. If no is your phone still under warranty? If yes don' t flash anything and take it in. If no flash darky or other rom to see if you can resolve issue.

Thanx ,cos I never heard of this problem before,so it would be nice with a follow up
Hope u will get fixed.
Good luck m8
Sorry m8 it didn't work. I installed the darky rom and the problem is still there. I installed the Rom by CWM recovery. It couldn't work with odin
Could anyone help me with this problem?
Use darky's 10.2 TAR file this is flashable with Odin or any other .tar file.
@RAMAD rooted roms is tar and only flashed in Odin.search ramad
it diden't work. Could it be solved with a secret code or something? I don't think it is a hardware problem because i can connect with my computer.

Hi, did you find a solution to the problem? I have the same problem after leaving my phone in a hammock in the rain (probably not the greatest of ideas). The phone works fine, but won't charge the battery. My solution so far was to buy a separate charger to charge the battery (about $10 from Amazon), but if there is a way to stop the battery check that would be much better than having to take out the battery every day to charge it.

Svein

I'm having the same issue. It just started yesterday. Even with low use the phone gets hot and it won't let me charge it. I keep getting the battery temperature error. Even when it's powered off. I went into recovery mode as suggested by a previous poster and there is no advanced options that I can see. I'm not rooted and bone stock. Very frustrating. I've also tried another OEM battery to no avail.

Today, my Note got extremely bricked, that I could not believe a phone like that could get so easily blown up.
I get this "Firmware update encountered an issue. Please select recovery in Kies and try again." message while it's rebooting every second.
I got this by making a huge mistake, using the re-partition option with the included .pit file, thinking it would factory-wipe the phone before downgrading... well, it didn't. Now, I can't barely access Download Mode or recovery because of, what I assume, low battery. It's charging now and it doesn't look like it. It reboots itself every 5 sec while it's plugged in. Before that, I used the JB leak and began to hate it because of it's damn instability. I wanted the stable, stock, ICS that came with it. I never had any problems like that on Xperia S.
Hell, even Odin can't ****ing save it because of the reboot-problem. I begin to think that, for the first time ever, I have to send this pile of **** back to Samsung and get a new one by saying, Kies ****ed up my phone.
Is there a solution that DOES NOT INVOLVE A DAMN USB JIG for this phone?
If you got the error in kies you could have followed the kies emergency firmware recovery option. Reflashing with a pit file is only for when you have triggered the emmc brick bug is my understanding. Look for the thread with the unbricking guides and hope for best. If not then it looks like service centre...........

Did you really read and combine this two sentences? Sometimes people should read the warnings (here about the reasons why NOT to use a pit) and follow them.
But first of all you should recharge the battery outside your device. When you're sure it's "reloaded" try download mode again and install a prerooted Stock Rom (like GB LC1 3-part) and check if you can install and after reboot into a stable device again.
Maybe it isn't so bad forever only for a few hours.

Wait, I have to charge it outside the phone? What kind of charger only charges the battery outside the phone?
just find someone with the same phone in your neighbourhood and charge in another phone...that's the easiest way..
I have flashed my note multiple times now and it never crossed my mind to use a .Pit file..
By the way, have you thought of leaving the battery out for a few minutes? I got that Firmware issue message before because the power went out while I was flashing my phone from my PC.. Then I just left it out for a few minutes and was able to boot back into dowload mode again
After the emmc brickbug:
The custom pit file may work but trust me after a few moths you going crazy with your phone... it freezes randomly on every rom and wont charge randomly. When you wake up.. phone frozen and battery is on 0% ... i lived 2 weeks with this then i gave it to samsung and they changed the mainboard for free now im happy
I bought the phone only 3 months ago... The version I had wasn't fast enough so I installed a new rom instead... The rom I installed was even slower so I tried putting another and I accidentally wiped all my data and cause my phone to get into brick mode...
I managed to solve the problem and a vibrant rom is now on my phone...
The problem now is that I want to replace that rom and I found out that every time I connect it to the computer with USB cable or plug it to the wall the phone goes off and a sign of empty battery apears with loading dots...
I tried to switch to a new battery and I realized it's not the problem...
I took the phone to a special lab to fix it and they told me they won't fix it cause there is a component inside that handeling with it may cause the phone to totally die...
I don't know who to turn to...
Please help!
wiping data doesnt make ur fone bricked. give us some info about ur problem, ur fone variant, usage of odin or how u flash or any other that could be used for us to answer or help u.
its like u asking me to marry u as if i know ur gender
So the other day i was on my captivate and i had just factory reset it to original eclair. so i tried updating it with kies but it kept failing. So i then tried using Odin and accidently checked bootloader and now my phone turned off and wont show any signs of life. PLEASE IM ASKING YOU PLEASE HELP! What do I do?
Can u get into Download mode with button combo or jig ?
If ur phone shows zero signs of life, even when plugged in to a wall charger, then it is probably hard bricked and so u will need jtag service in order to bring ur phone back to life. Check out mobiletechvideos.com, they can fix ur phone.

But i dont get it. I was flashing with odin and it magically formatted the bootloader. Is there a way for me to fix it by myself like restoring the bootloader. I got my phone only 2 month ago. I dont have 40 dollars to invest on jtag service. Like how would they fix it. Could I please get instructions? Thanks and most help is appreciated

It doesn't format the bootloaders per say, it you flash a stock ROM with Odin that has bootloaders and if it gets interrupted while it's replacing them, your phone will be bricked as it doesn't have a way to boot (hence the name bootloaders).
The JTAG service basically pushes the bootloaders into the phone. It's something we can't do on our own unless we have the right equipment (riftbox).
Like 4-2ndtwin mentioned, try to get some response from your phone, anything that would show life. That means you can recover on your phone. From there, you'd have to be able to get in download mode and flash Odin KK4 without ANY interruption.

Try the button combo to get in download mode (could even try a jig). If that fails too, you'll have to get jtag service.

From what I've read in your thread, you had the i9000 image working, correct? If so, why not just roll with it?
All Captivate/i9000 rom works with the i9000 bootloader. Captivate GB Rom will need to get the 2.3.5 i9000 Music Player APK, but aside from that, it all works. AOSP roms like Cyanogenmod and Slimbean will work out of the box if you get the captivate version. To install them, you'll need a slight workaround though:
Flash a kernel with CWM.
From there, flash the Captivate Glitch Kernel V13. It only comes in .ZIP format, which is why you need a CWM kernel before hand
Flash CM7 to convert the partition table(IMPORTANT. Rom will not boot if you skip this step.)
Flash anything from here on. If it throw a status 7 about device not being SGH-i896/SGH-i897, etc..., flash the Glitch Kernel before attempting to flash the ROM. You do not need to flash CM7 again.
(I know other ROM should have converted the partition table, but in reality it doesn't. Since you're flashing from Glitch, a CM7/MIUI kernel, they assumes you already have the MTD partition layout, and only resize it instead of doing a full conversion. CM7 check the partition table regardless of which kernel you're flashing it from.)
As a plus, Deep Idle works only with the i9000 bootloader. You'll get sleep of death otherwise. If you want your ATT World Phone image back, you can flash the custom param.lfs and change it manually. This can only be done from Touchwiz ROM though.
