Was there ever a solution to the purple camera problem? My wife is starting to get fed up with it. I haven't had the problem on two different One's.

Seems to be an actual hardware issue, at least for me and some others. I've contacted HTC, they replied at first trying to do some software fixes, after determining its hardware, they want me to call some 800 number, I will tomorrow.
Here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42400071 had someone continuing to return theirs for service, until the camera module was replaced with one from sharp, then the issue was resolved.

4.3 was supposed to fix it and it did for me, if it's still doing it after the update , get it replaced.

mine just went purple out of nowhere, for no reason.. but it did it after the first big update (4.2 i believe?) after its initial release.
like, the firmware update borked the hardware, and left it permanently damaged.
its never been the same since.
i wonder if the issue has been fixed with the htc one max

I was hoping someone had found a fix I could implement on her phone. She doesn't have TEP so it'd be $75 to get hers replaced.
It should be under warranty its a factory defect HTC would fix it but you wouldn't have a phone til u get it back.

I traded my other phone for an AT&T HTC One today and I'm loving it! But I'm having an issue with the camera... No matter what settings I choose or how much I tap to focus, it's always blurry! The phone was rooted with twrp recovery and android revolution rom pre-installed, but I don't know if its bootloader unlocked or s-off... All I know is I went into twrp and wiped caches and data/factory reset and logged into all my accounts... The camera sometimes manages to focus and works, but the rest of the time it just stays blurry... Any thoughts? I attached a picture I just took of my headphones so you can see what I mean...
Looks like more of a hardware problem, I'd try to get it swapped.

Mine is the same . Started a thread as close up it's even worse .

My camera gets blurry only in pitch black environments where the flash lights up the photo but it's still very blurry, but I guess that's because focus isn't actually working when it's that dark - or at least I hope so. I'd go back to stock and get yours replaced under warranty, mate.
That was in light conditions about 20 cm away . Just will not focus close up .

Whenever I take a picture, the end result will always be a little blurry and have yellow tinting towards the left side of the picture. To some extent, the life side even has an entire bar going across it. What can I do with my problem?

I would be highly surprised if it would not. Especially if your phone is still newish. Just say no user error could ever cause this.

Thanks I'll give it a shot. Anyways, does warranty usually replace the entire phone or do they usually just repair the damaged areas?

Depends, my carrier swaps out defective units for a new one right away if it's 2 months old or less. Otherwise it gets send away for repair.
I'd steer the conversation towards a new one in any case...
Buddy had same issue took it back got a knew one never asked a question had it for only like a week tho
Alright so when your provider decides to replace the phone for warranty, will you have to wait a few days for the new phone or will they give you a new one on that same time?
Hi all,
I have an Unlocked 32 GB (US) HTC One. I recently updated to 4.3 via OTA update. I've noticed some issues immediately after updating and would appreciate if people pooled in their issues so we can maybe sort this out. Or maybe it's just me!
1. The camera's low light performance has gone to s***. (Almost negligible purple noise to full of it).
2. The phone is taking considerably longer time to charge.
Will edit my post if I notice any more changes. Thanks!
UPDATE:
3. My proximity sensor is acting up. While in a call, when I take the phone away from my ear the screen doesn't always light up.
I confirm the camera got worse.
WIFI stops working after turning off and and on with mobile data usage in between.

EDIT: I haven't had any issues with Wifi yet. Just checked my Power History and the wifi seems to be working even with screen off. Any power saving apps perhaps?

I was inclined to think that as well. But how come the performance dropped overnight? And right after the update.. Seems a bit coincidental.

The problem comes from ST and OmniVision, the camera sensor providers. I saw purple issues in Motor X as well, which also uses sensor from OmniVision.
After 4.2.2, HTC changed a bunch of camera drivers, making thousands of people suffering from this purple/red issue, which already existed before, but was not severe.
You can check the photo before the update again: purple in the edges and the colors a little bit weird.

Okay.. So assuming this adverse change is due to possible driver changes, will the camera go back to 'normal' if i undo my update? Assuming it's possible to go back to 4.1.2..

No use at all. I personally own a developer edition, as you can see in my signature. I bought it in May and suffered from purple/red issue after flashing a 4.2.2 rom. I then flashed back to original 1.29.1540.3 ruu and found out the issue was as severe as was on 4.2.2. The only way to solve this problem is to replace your camera sensor or to have your whole phone replaced. The latter solution is recommended.

Well that's kind of disappointing.. You see, I bought my phone in the US and I'm currently in India (HTC support is, well, not good). I'll be going to Canada in about 3 months, but I think I'll have issues claiming warranty on an American product elsewhere..
How can one fine out which camera sensor is in their mobile? I have no issue whatsoever in my Vodafone One, was fine with 4.1.2 and still fine now with 4.2.2, I have no purple tinge at all.
Would I be fine when Vodafone release 4.3 or best not to upgrade.. I'm still stock too, killed my last one by flashing recently

Thanks. Its fine though as there is no update yet, Vodafone AU have only just made 4.2.2 available, will be a fee months I reckon as they were quite late with the last one..
4.3 is only for international unlocked phones so no update for atm

Well that's a problem that nearly everyone has.. could you please take a picture with the pattern and upload it?
A temporary fix for this is changing your ISO to different settings, but that doesn't always work (didn't work for me, for instance).
The best solution is getting HTC or Sprint to fix your camera/replace your phone as it's a hardware issue apparently, although it seems like it would be a software issue.

HTC told me my phone is now "out of warranty" (it may have turned 1 year this month, but I even doubt that)... So even tho they acknowledge it is a defective issue, I have to pay to fix it. Guess they lost another customer to Samsung or LG

None of the other phone manufacturers are going to fix your phone for free out of warranty. I know you're salty now, but know that switching does no good for your problem in particular.
Enjoy Samsuck. LG make decent phones but they lack in build quality.

HTC has made one lackluster device after another since the original EVO. The HTC One M7 wasn't exactly an amazing device (had a lot of short comings... specifically the camera) and the M8 is just a rehash of the M7... atleast with the S 5 you can install QI with a simple chip under the back cover.
Enjoy Knox

yeah, you'll have to call HTC and make a claim. you'll have to pay for shipping and handling, but in a week or so, you will be sent a new device with the new camera hardware installed. I did this less than a month ago, and yes, you must still be under warranty.
So, let me start by saying that I HAVE read around and there is a lot of talk about this issue here on xda, a lot of people have sent their Nexus 6 phones in to be replaced and it's a common issue! However, was anyone ever able to come up with the conclusion of it either being software or hardware based? I noticed mine does this more when the battery gets lower leading me to believe it's software related, however, I have hear speculation that the hardware is faulty. Anyone know the true answer to this question? Thanks!

Damn, I guess a lot of people had this issue, most people who own this device have said this is happening to them, few have said theirs is fine. It's a minor annoyance, but for the hefty price tag and what I paid for mine, it's very disappointing. Does the 6p or 5x have this issue? Or not sure? They're made by different companies so I assume they don't.

I dont have this issue unless I try to use things like Viper which I removed as it really didnt do enough to justify the extra static.
As for the 6p and 5x they have other issues.

It seems to me that the crackling has to do with voltage...
Like the crackling occurs as the battery starts to quit because it thinks there's more voltage available than really is... And as I start to put 2 + 2 together... It seems to be exasperated by using the "high performance" toggle in the kernel
