I have had an issue with my z3 compact, when using the headphone jack is get a brief glitch in audio every few seconds.
I thought it may be an app or something in the background causing interference.
So advice from experia care was, hard reset then update the software then try the repair software function on companion software.
All made no difference, so I sent it to the repair center as a warranty repair.
It came back with new casing, and display unit.
Software update, call test all ok.
But the audio fault is still there.
Is there anyway I can find the cause of my problem myself, maybe I'm missing something stupid.
Surely the repair centre read my description of my problem...

i stopped using my x1 for some time then i came back to it but now when i try to type messages some times it doubles a letter
say i typed "n" sometimes i get "n" or "nn" or "nnn"
is this lag or is it a hardware issue
I have this exact problem to with a number of keys. Found it mostly happens with the N as well. Hope somebody figures this out.
this is a hardware issue, device needs disassembling and cleaning. Search it is already posted in forum
I suffer from this keyboard issue since some time now, but soon the warranty will expire, so I want to take my X1 to a service center to have it fixed before it is too late.
Do service centers fix it (or best, RMA the phone ) or just say it is wearing issue and bad usage and do nothing?
Same problem here. I don't recommend to claim Sony Ericsson warranty, they really have very bad service in my experience.
true, you'd better open and clean your x1 by yourself
My Hd7 stopped working suddenly wouldn't load the os even after soft resett etc. - not dropped or anything. I took it to a repairer who said it neded new touch screen although there was no sign of any physical damage. He said it must have been due to power surge or something! Anyway new screen ($250) and everything seemed fine except no sound whatsover including when using the phone. Repairer said the speaker must be damaged and offered to repair it for the cost of the speaker kit ($65). However, new screen and speaker etc still no sound. Repairer thinks it might be 'the board' and is investigating. Has anyone else had a no sound problem and had it fixed? If so I would really like to know how. The HTC HD& is costing me a fortune and it still doesn't work.
Thanks for reading as I sob quietly to myself!
why didn't you send to htc service centre instead of 'unofficial' service centre.worried they might ask you to pay again fro the mistakes they have done.
The Xperia Z vibrator is not working
I got my Xperia Z (white) yesterday from the Sony Store. It was officially available in India from yesterday.
After switching ON the phone for first time, it seemed to vibrate once. After that I charged it a bit (for 40mins), connected it to PC companion and had an update installed (Although firmware version still remained same....so God knows what the update was all about). After that I installed my apps and everything seemed fine. I did not notice the Vibrator issue till the time I put my phone in silent mode today and as a result later realized that I had 15 missed calls since the vibrator had not worked.
I went to the service menu and did service test for all functionalities. Everything apart from the vibrator works correctly.
Can this be a firmware problem owing to the firmware that was installed through PC companion?
Or is it a faulty set itself?
I'll try to reset everything and probably go for a repair through SUS. If it works, I'll report back. Else it is back to the service centre I guess.
Just another question. If I return it to the service center now, I should get a replacement...right?? Or will they repair it instead? Its just been 2 days :'(
Damn I loved the phone so much and within a day I have this issue :'(
Anyone else having a similar problem????
Most people are having issues with the notification led, but not the vibrator. I'm beginning to suspect it's a hardware issue since it doesn't even vibrate once when you power on the phone..

I'm going to the service centre tomorrow.
They are gonna replace it....right? Since it's just 2 days old and clearly a manufacturing defect with my handset??
I really hope they replace it
Having the same problem with mine. Returning tomorrow in hope to get a new one.
*Got mine replaced with a new unit today.DOA.

Hello,
I have a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact D5803 running sony concept android 6.0.1 software. A few days ago the vibration randomly stopped working. I've looked online and shaking the phone doesn't do anything, not even temporarily. It was working on the marshmallow firmware so I don't think it's a software issue, however I haven't dropped the phone or anything like that, so I don't see how it could be a hardware issue. I sent the phone to Sony for repair in the past for a faulty headphone Jack, and really don't want to have to go through all that again. Does anyone have any insight on what might be wrong? I have tried the diagnostic test, and it's not vibrating. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance
Im having the same issue. I remember i had It some time ago and could it get fixed through flashint the KK fw and relock and unlock the bl again. Now it came with the upgrade 2157 -> 3052
Im not doing any mistakes, so its really annoying to keep the same procedure every and every time. But i couldnt find out by what its caused

I'm having the same issue. That link in the previous post did not work for me. Have you learned anything else? I'm on stock unrooted and latest update. This has been happening over the last week.
Same problem...
When vibration stop to work, you had to shake your device. So, the vibration will work again...
It's an hardware issue: I tried to flash another rom. I tried to root/unroot: it doesn't matter.
I sent my Z3C in warranty, but they didn't solve anything
guys, i just want to share my story on vibrations:
i had similiar issue, have z3 compact and one day realised my vibration stopped working, not even in tests and diagnostics.. tried reseting it and restoring backup. nothing worked. sent it to SONY for repair under warranty. they send it back and say they replaced some mechanical part (no specific info)
i open the phone, it works nicely and vibrates like a kitten. i start restoring my apps and stuff and suddenly see/feel that vibration is not working again (also not working anywhere). this time i factory reset the phone thru android menu (not thru sony companion repair on pc) and the vibration came back.
also when i reset to factory settings via sony's repair app on the phone it still wont work (the vibrations) not even in diagnostics. so may be that one of the apps is seriously feckin up the vibrations that they dont even work in diagnostic tests and have to be formated thru the android native option not some sony stuff.
Bought my phone in November and until May it was working perfectly, I thoroughly enjoyed the phone.
During the installation of the April security patch my phone got stuck and I had to reboot it.
As a result, Android didnt work anymore. Even after hard resetting the phone was super slow and full of errors.
I sent it back to an official Moto service center; so they could reset the firmware.
When I finally received my phone back, I notice there were marks on the back-glass that werent there before.
the "repair paper" said that "broken parts have been replaced".
The phone works quick again, except that the loudspeaker cracks really bad on 80% volume... and when calling I can hear a very soft but subtle abnormality in the speaker as well.
I also notice a small delay with the fingerprint scanner, which wasn't there before.
When I look into the android recovery menu I can see that this phone has a different serial number than the one I sent to them.
- Do you also think they gave me someone elses phone? Because my loudspeaker didnt crack at all at high volume.
- Is this legal ?
Simply repairing android doesn't require opening up the phone to "replace the motherboard", right?
Seems like they had to replace mainboard. Which is logical, because Android errors might have been a result of damaged memory.
At least this would explain serial number change.
And the speaker problem might be a result of incorrect assembly after the repair. (this happened once to me, when I received my Lumia 930 after the repair, headphones jack was not working correctly. It did not react when headphones were connected - fortunately, when I started to move the plug in the socket, the socket "jumped in" into its place and it started to work again)
I'd return the phone and request them to fix the problems you described. I don't think much more can be done on the discussion forum
