Xperia V Touchscreen Problem - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

My friend used his xv and submerged it in the pool for taking pictures. After like a few minutes, it didnt repond to any touch and suddenly it shut down. He opened the back cover to see if there was any leak and took out the battery, but there was none and all ports were closed but the camera lens show there was moist and some water droplets formed. When he try to put back the battery the flash led kept on blinking and the phone won't turn on. He assumed there was a leak so he let the phone dry and when there was no more water droplets in the camera lens, he put the battery and the phone turned on, but now the problem is that the screen wont respond to any touch.
If the same case happened to any xv owner or anyone who can suggest a possible solution, please let us know, it will be very much appreciated. Thanx

Flash Stock ROM. if not solved, give your phone to the repair center. it could be hardware damage.

[Q] my Z volumm down buttob is broken & stuck in safe mode

please help
open all flaps and turn it off. leave it for few days so it drys out (if it hasnt already)
I have the exact same problem, but in my case it was due to heavy rain and my mobile was in my pocket with all flaps tightly closed. Quite disappointing when the phone is market as water proof. I will give the open flaps for a couple of days. Any other ideas about how this can be solved?
So did you found out any solution for this prob. I'm in a similar situation. Phone is stuck in safe mode and Power and Vol down keys are not working.
Please let me know if you found any solution

What I did, as suggested by others, was to let it dry out with open flaps for several days. I also used heardryaer and hoover. After a while it restarted normally, but then I had a problem with camera, flash and closing chrome windows. This final problem I did manage to solve and sent the phone to repair. I got the phone back with a note that the hole phone was changed (got new IMEI number)

Okay thanks for the tip. I did put my phone in rice with all flaps opened for one day but didn't help at all. Will do that again for a week now, and then hair dryer too. Hope that works.
My phone is doing fine otherwise. It's just that malfunctioned Vol down key that's forcing the phone to boot into safe mode on reboot. Hell! I can't even turn off the phone. Firmware update, forced reboot, discharge battery.. all leads to the same "safe mode"
The service center reps say that they are not authorised by Sony to open the phone and fix a silly moisture problem. And that they'd replace the phone for a new IF i agree to PAY 80% cost of the new phone.
Stupid company.

In my case some vital parts was damaged and I got it repaired for free. After all the phone is marketed as water resistant and all my flaps was closed. The rain was heavy though and me and the phone was soaking wet. The volume button and safe mode problem, I think, will be solved as soon as you manage to dry the phone and if you do not have other malfunction.

i have the exact same problem too, the phone has only ever been wet when all of the flaps are closed, and even the it wasnt for long or at high pressure, also, when the phone gets hot, i can see condensation in the front camera lens, and my power button will wake the screen but will not lock the phone, im glad to see its not just me and that many people have experienced this same issue, im going to try drying it for a few days, but if that doesnt work i will see what sony say, and i will see what my service provider says about fixing/replacing the phone, also, i have noticed the phone can get quite hot, i am going to see if i can use this as an advantage in drying the phone
EDIT: also, all of my water sensor tabs are all white, and not red or pink

Another dead Xperia

Hello,
Yep, another noob with another dead phone!
I was swimming at the local waterfall with some friends and as you do with a waterproof phone, I was showing it off in the water. Anyway it was working fine till I put it in my pocket. When we left I pulled it out to take a photo when I realized it wouldn't turn on! So I looked at all the flaps and found water had entered in the headphone and USB jacks! (As indicated by the pink strips) Also I could see water droplets on the inside of both camera lenses and the flash. As I was a couple of hours away from home I opened all the flaps and sat it in the map holder of my car with the air vent directed to it to try and dry it out somewhat. Once I got home I put it straight in a bucket of rice where it sat for 2 days.
So today I took it out of the rice, all the water droplets had vanished and the notification LED was on and red. So I looked up what this meant and came across "SDS" so I tried the Power button + Volume up solution. The phone did vibrate 3 times like the guide said but the phone didn't turn on... at this stage I had to go to work so I left the phone on charge will I was at work. On my brake (A good 5 hours later) I came home to find the notification light had changed to blue, So I tried the SDS combo again and this time the phone vibrated once (The part where you let the power button go) but then did nothing... The notification light went out and was flashing red whenever I tried the SDS combo. So then I tried the Sony update tool, but the phone doesn't do anything when plugging it into the computer so that didn't work.
So the current status of the phone is that it's dead, only thing it will do is flash the notification light red when trying the SDS combo, but now it's not even vibrating at all... The light flashes twice then there's a slight pause, then 2 flashes again if that means anything.
Any help would be much appreciated
Put te Xperia with all the flaps open in a jar closed full of rice for 1 week... This will help you to dry the Phone... Dont try to charge it or try to turn on !
I think the phones dead
Well, water damages the actual hardware. Nothing you do can repair that damage, especially as you powered up the phone afterwards which probably destroyed some components inside the phone.
Take it for repair.

Xperia V is not a waterproof phone. People sometimes mistaken it as one and handle it carelessly... In this case, most likely the display got fried because of water damage. There's no other solution than changing the screen.

[Q] My phone is drawned then resurrected

EDIT: Sorry for the mistake in the title
Hi guys, I need a suggestion about what to do with my phone.
I've always cleaned it under running water without problems, but Friday 5th I decided to do something more and I put it in the swimming pool to make a video; I didn't go neither deep neither for a long time: about 10-20 secs 10cm under the water surface. When I finished to record the video I pressed the stop button, the phone was frozen, touch was unresponsive and 30 secs later it said "Unable to save the video", then it worked well.
I washed the phone under tap water as written in instructions (chlorinated water has to be removed immediately after submersion). 15/30 minutes later the phone turned off by itself, and I couldn't turning it on. After some other attempt it turned on but immediately shut down after Sony logo. Some other try and the phone seemed to work well, but when I arrived at home the phone turned off by itself and I noticed that the rear camera was covered by condensation and the water indicator near the SIM card slot was pink. So I left the phone on with all ports open and I went to sleep. Next morning condensation was almost (but not entirely) gone but the phone had turned off by itself. I put it under charge and... After 5 secs it died. Saturday and Sunday the phone did not turn on, and the LED did not turn on when put under charge. Fortunately on these days Xperia Care support was closed so I had to wait the next Thursday when I came home from a study trip and... Surprise: the phone works perfectly and I'm using it right now flawlessly.
Of course the water indicator is still pink and, according to the Sony manual, warranty is gone. Should I bring it to Xperia Care for a vacuum test risking htey keep it for long time? I'm sure the ports were closed when I put the phone in the water and I did a pressure test and the results are:
one finger pressure at the center: 993(relax)-994(press)-993(stabilization)-990(release)-993(relax)
four fingers pressure at the center: 993(relax)-997(press)-993(stabilization)-989(release)-993(relax)
If you were me what would you do? Thanks in advance.
If all is working why bother then? And the pressure sensor is only worth comparing by a) slightly pushing your finger on scren with flaps closed, b) doing the sam ewith all flaps open.

Xperia Z1 (C6902) issues after a few centimeters in water photography

I will explain what happened as elaborate as possible so that some of you can help me with the problem I've been facing.
I have put my phone in water about 5 - 10 cms in my aquarium for a video. 1 was 20 seconds and as it came well. I've took another video for 47 seconds. After that I've tried checking for problem in any component of phone and everything went well. I've shared videos and then used my phone as usual for a long time and phone was completely normal.
I've placed my phone on dock for charging and the magnet didn't work in the first instant. They just didn't stick. I thought it was some issue and I just rubbed my phone to the dock twice or thrice and the magnetic action came back along with a wide array of problems.
I removed from dock while charging and the screen started to randomly blink and the touch never worked. I placed it back in the dock and it charged normally. After a while I've removed it from the dock and the screen got blank all of a sudden scaring me to death. I placed it back and again took it. This time it worked completely normal as if nothing happened and I was able to send a text message. I thought that was just for one time and placed it back for charging and that was the last time my phone touch screen worked.
I removed from the dock after a while trying to unlock the screen and nothing happens. I could use all the hard buttons on the screen. I was able to capture photos using the camera button. Change volume, lock and unlock screen. I tried switching off using the method of volume up + power button. It turned off and on turning on it got even bad. The sony logo blinks a lot it goes dim it comes bright and all sorts of weird things happened. I've removed the sim card and turned on the phone to charge and now the phone restarts after every few minutes.
Even now except the touch screen everything else works fine like the camera. I tried removing the screen protector but that didn't help.
Hoping to have an answer other than taking it to a service center.
Thanks
It seems that not all of z1s are waterproof. I had mine in the sea in about 1 meter deep for 30mins and its still completely functional ( I wash it every day too). Anyway, sorry to tell you but simply there isn't any way to fix it yourself. The only thing you can do is take it to service. And more bad news to come: your warranty doesn't cover damage from water, so you will have to pay. The only thing you can try is blowing your phone with a hairdryer for a few secs, but thats risky.
Took it to the service center. Asked them to check the flaps before they accepted the mobile and there was no water through flaps as the flap litmus is completely unaffected. They took it under warranty and the next day called me to say that it had water in the display connector and the same warranty void answer but I've requested to let me know how the water went inside and they said it was through the bottom speaker grill which clearly means manufacturing defect. Along with escalating the issue I've also asked for a quote for the repair if the warranty gets void and today they came up with this wonderful quote of ₹20,179 its wonderful because I purchased the phone for ₹17,600 just a month ago. The request for manufacturing defect inspection is under progress so I wish to get some good news.
More strange things here. I have completely lost all of my speaker grill but my phone is still 100% waterproof. It's clearly a manufacturing defect, but I doubt they will accept it . Sony support and service is just terrible
