We sell Qmadix through our company. We love it, even if the liquid glass isn't 100% effective the 100-250$ warranty is where the product is paying for itself.
We've helped tons of customers with filing damaged device claims and the process is really simple. Send in receipt of repair or insurance claim, they mail a check.
As far as product quality, i believe that its beneficial but its not this magical liquid that will stop it from breaking, just adds a additional layer and more defense.

This seems suspiciously like an ad.

$100 serviced Hd2 repair goes awry

I took my shattered glass HD2 in to replace the glass today at a local store. I was quoted $100 for the glass replacement. I thought, "hey excellent price. I'd rather pay a bill than ruin my phone by doing it myself." (I have fixed all my prior lcds on my phones just FYI) Needless to say about 5 hours later they tell me that due to the damaged state of the phone the lcd was affected as well from the jarring it took when it was shattered. Apparently there were was one large tear of the anti-glare coat on the top left hand side and two other areas where it was lifted as well.
I tried calling them out by saying the technician did not take the required precautions to avoid tearing the anti-glare coat on the lcd when separating the digitizer and lcd.
Unfortunately, I had the option of continuing as is or ordering an lcd screen from them for another $100. The owner who seemed pretty nice said he would try and see if he could get the price on the replacement lcd lowered. Personally, I believe I should not have to pay for the lcd since it was NOT damaged when I took it in.
I probably don't have any recourse though since they say it's a risk associated with this phone. I should have just bought the combo together and done it myself. That's what I get for trying to save a few dollars.
Would you gentlemen have any suggestions?
theres not really much you can do unless you just want to live with it. i was going to suggest getting a warranty replacement but realized it voids warranty when taken apart. if you want things done right DIY cant really rely on shops to do anything anymore..
That sucks. I'd want to be damn sure they are replacing the screen with a genuine article too.
Unfortunately you can't really prove that the membrane wasn't damaged prior to them touching the phone so it will be hard to get out of this one without forking out extra, however I suppose you could always politely threaten them with legal action and a public flaming on a busy internet forum if they don't want to play nice.
It's worked for me i nthe past when i've had issues with car servicing.

No warranty for physical damage to unit. Insurance would have covered it, if insurance was purchased? I did..

Nexus one battery door replacement?

The protective lense for the camera has a crack in it..... so I want to replace it, I did look around a little and even tried google it... but all I see on ebay is hong kong stuff.... and the only online store I seen is sold out. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement?

Call HTC. They just sent one out to me for free when I asked about buying a replacement for a cracked lens. They said that cracked lenses are uncommon but somehow a known issue. They wouldn't give me any other details, such as if the defect causes it to break without provacation or if it's not as rugged as they intend. The rep sounded surprisingly concerned though, saying that "we'll get that to you ASAP; we don't want anything bad to happen to the glass lens under the cover!"
So far, HTC has been awesome and has done everything in their power to deliver me a perfect phone, after two screen dust swaps a dead pixel swap, and a free headset because "we don't have a parts sales infrastructure set up yet." Some might say that those things should never happen, but at least they're going to great lengths to keep happy customers. Unlike some other manufacturers who don't want to fess up to their shortcomings.

Im also in Canada. I dont want to exploit or rip off HTC... but, I got a new back cover for free because mine did not line up correctly (new one didnt either), maybe just tell them that and youll get yours for free too.

Hmm. When I wanted to get a replacement, I was quoted a price plus shipping and handling. I did hear stories of people receiving free replacement accessories but I haven't had luck when I had my phone. I even called during different days of the week to speak with different representatives.
I called about the door twice. First was a couple of months ago because I scratched up the paint around the headphone jack with my Sony MDR-V6s. I was quoted $27 after shipping and tax (HTC's dist center is in my state) and decided it wasn't worth it.
When my camera lens broke, I was grudgingly willing to drop the money, but was told after the rep took my name and address that I wasn't going to be charged and that the crack was because of a defect of some sort. I'm not advocating that anyone scam the system, because that's only going to make HTC be less forthcoming with support in the future.

I just purchased a "slightly used" Galaxy Note on eBay, and I was wondering since the Galaxy Note is not even available in the States if I have any manufacturer warranty? Also, if I do, where can I get warranty work done?
No, there is no warranty coverage for people in the U.S. You'd have to have it serviced in the country in which it was originally purchased.
You go and buy a squaretrade warranty for your phone.
It's 124.99 for two years and it covers against accidental damage, water damage among other things.

Idea: buy a Note from Amazon/Newegg, list on eBay and buy it yourself (have a friend BIN immediately) and boom, you have squaretrade eligibility.

I guess that might be the best route. Do you or anyone you know have any experience with Squaretrade? I took a quick look and it said accidental damage also requires a deductible, which to me is a little suspect. Thanks

I have done some more digging on the SquareTrade Site and found this.
Our standard Care Plan covers mechanical and electrical failures that occur during normal use. You get 100% Parts & Labor coverage with zero deductibles. Drops and spills are covered if you purchase Accidental Damage from Handling (only available on some new, store-bought items - deductible applies).
That last part is the one I'm worried about, because they require an additional purchase for accidental damage and spills AND it must be bought new. Hmm at least I have 90 days to make a decision.
Anyone else have another suggestion?

Dead pixels on display after a fall from 2 feet

I bought Samsung Note 8 at the price of 56,000INR.
I added Samsung official back cover.
One fine day my phone fell from my bed side-table(barely 2 feet) and to my horror, not only its glass was damaged, its display got damaged as well.
If company boasts usage of Gorilla glass 5 and claims of doing multiple drop tests, how can the phone get damaged so easily by a mere 2 feet drop?
I filed a complaint to customer support saying that "I do not think the quality of product is at par with the price tag" and I am told that I will have to bear the expenses. The repair cost is approx 18,000 INR and they are giving me 25% discount which brings down the repair cost to approx 13,000 INR which is still too high.
Samsung makes a tall claim about drop tests. I have a youtube video link where they boast about drop tests, but couldn't share it here since the forum doesn't allow sharing outside links.
I consider this as "Misleading Advertisement" case.
I am thinking of suing the company on the grounds that:
1) They are misleading the customer with such ads
2) They are charging customer for a bad product. If the phone has Gorilla glass, the glass should have broken and protected the display from being damaged.
Do you guys think it is worthwhile taking the efforts to sue Samsung?
You dropped your phone, now it is broken. It will be very difficult that the drop in your case should not have damaged phone.
Samsung may have done a lot to make the phone more durable and more resistant to drops etc., but it doesn't mean the phone is drop proof.
Insurance can cover damage due to accidents, Samsung will not. Any coulance in reducing repair costs by Samsung is a bonus and all in my view you can expect.
Bottom line: don't sue Samsung.
You dropped the phone, then it is YOUR fault, just like that, the device was not designed or constructed to be undestructible or entirely shock proof, there are some heavy duty devices outhere,, but even those can suffer damage, the tests measure the capacity of the device to continue to operate after drops, shocks etc, that is, to be able to function, make and receive calls, the screen beeing legible and responsive to touch
If you have a history of dropping phones I'd strongly encourage you buy a Moto Z. The body is composed of metal, and the screen is shatter proof. I baby phones that are sandwiched between glass, whereas my Moto can handle drops unscathed.
The phone screen is glass.. The phone back is glass.. What makes u think dropping the phone won't break the glass?
No improvements? Ok let's compete it to another type of glass we all know.. Try a glass cup. Drop it and see.

What is up with everyone wanting to sue Samsung? Is this because of the recent trend in America where everyone sues each other for absolutely no reason, now everyone else also wants to sue someone to make a bit of money because they're unhappy? "I'm unhappy, now you have to pay me".
Basically any lawyer you tell your story to, will laugh at you. Sure, Gorilla Glass 5 is supposed to be stronger, but the glass is also a lot thinner than they used to be 8 years ago. Just because it's been drop-tested, doesn't mean it's indestructible. It's still glass and it will still break. Samsung didn't falsely advertise anything. They just said it's been drop-tested, not that it won't or can't break. Plus, also, you dropped it and it's your fault. Samsung isn't liable for your own negligence. Suing a company for "false advertising" is just saying "I broke it and now I'm unhappy and don't want to pay the repair, so instead I want to try and make money out of them for my unhappiness".
Bottom line. No, I don't think you can sue Samsung because of that. What do you think the courts of the world would look like if every person tried to sue a mobile manufacturer for false advertising, every time they dropped their phone? Why do you think you haven't seen or heard of any such cases happening before? Because it's just ludicrous.
Stop being salty because you were negligent and broke your expensive device, and either pay the repair or get a different device. At the end of the day, no one buys a Note device for their reputable sturdy and ruggedness and resistance to breaking.

I recently bought mi 11 ultra from a local seller who claim it just 10 days used, with genuine invoice.
But I think this piece is having slight gap on back panel, maybe be it is open for some repairs?

As You can see in image I can easily slide small piece of thin paper inside it. I am worried that it is open and will not be water resistant anymore. Can someone verify?

First try online Xiaomi customer support service. Ask them if your phone has repair records.
If there is repair records, you can bring the phone to Xiaomi repair center and request them to deal with the gap you are concerned about. They check the warranty validity and if valid, will repair it.
If there is no repair records from Xiaomi, complain to the local seller you bought from. Tell that seller to fix it, or simply request refund. Warranty from Xiaomi is at doubt in this case.
Sketchy seller will avoid responsibilities by saying that gap is caused by you. Even if you did not cause it, you have no proof.
This is a lesson to learn when buying 2nd hand stuff, you have to check everything right in front of them and better make a video while checking and unboxing at the point.
