Hello,
My Galaxy note 4 is not working after firmware update fail.
1. Downloader mode is not wotking
2. Recovery is not working
3. Firmware is not working
4. Odin software cant see the phone, but in device manager i found the device (Qualcom ***").
How to reinstall Downloader or firmware?
I think you should try adb tools to flash firmware and recovery, I am not an expert in this field, but I had met with kind of same problem but in my case my recovery is working which saves me

ADB and fastboot(fastboot doesn't work with Samsung at all) can't flash firmware on Samsung devices, Only Odin, JOdin, Hiemdall, Kies and SmartSwitch(and in some cases, Qfil) are the only tools that can flash stock firmware on Samsung devices.
If you aren't familiar with Samsung devices or how to flash them, don't make any suggestions, you could actually make things worse.

Sorry for that, and thank you for letting me acknowledge about the Samsung devices

Hello, i have kies for samsung installed for the drivers to install stock firmware through ODIN. I just wanted to know if adb is required and if so which tools should i download in adb?
No you don't need adb

Ok, thanks for the reply
I have only used it once. And that was when I first got the phone to get into download mode. Now my 3 button is working I barely use a pc. Just download new rom, kernel etc, on the phone and flash with cwm.

Well, i want to flash phones with stock firmware using ODIN, do i need adb for that?
Hello,
I've searched here and there more and more before asking this question, but I didn't find an answer.
what does odin do in my mobile? How does it flash the ROMs?
I ask this question because I haven't and don't like windows. I use linux and want to flash ROMs.
Second thing: can I flash ROMs and CWM from the phone itself without odin? (ROM Manager couldn't recognize my GSM phone), I want to know the way.

Hi There,
Not quite sure if there is a non-windows version of Odin. You can flash ROMs later on without Odin but you will need it to install stock firmware, e.g. upgrade to higher version, Froyo to GB 2.3.4 to 2.3.5 to 2.3.6.. And you will need it also to flash the ClockWorkMod recovery which is specialized for flashing custom ROMs. Check this post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17400158&postcount=1
I am not forcing you to update your firmware. Just have a look on what Odin does as shown on the pix.
DO NOT use ROM manager as it is known to brick our phones. We already have a lot of cases here wherein users played around with ROM manager and bricked their phone.. Your lucky it did not do any damage on your phone.
Anyway, maybe there is a way for virtual boxes to run windows on linux? not quite sure on how others do it though..
"A Thanks a day, keeps the trouble away.."
First: I have already upgraded firmware to GB 2.3.4 Arabic version via odin on my friends PC.
Second: I will not use ROM Manager anymore!
Third: I read that the usb libraries of linux are different from the windows libs, so running odin via "wine" or "virtual box" will brick my phone!
Fourth: I want just to know what does odin or CWM do? Do they format device memory then extract the zip file and copy its contents to internal memory or what?

2 things I know about odin is that it is used to flash stock ROMs and flash the stock recovery. It simply overwrites what is installed on your phone.
As for CWM, I guess you are right about formatting the system memory and extracting the system files of the ROM that you will be flashing. One thing for sure is that you cannot flash stock ROMs via CWM and vice versa. Cannot install custom ROMs via Odin.
I guess you need your friend's help one more time. You need to have at least CWM v4.0.0.5 which you can find on the dev section (tj_style's threads). Once you have that installed, you can go away with windows pc since the newer versions of CWM are flashable via zip file ( squadzone's mod of v5.0.2.8 and RZrecovery).

Thank you for helping me!
One more question: can I flash squadzone's CWM directly via odin?

No, you have to flash v4 first.. No Odin packages were made for v5 unfortunately..
Hope you press the Thanks buttons.. Would really appreciate it..
Sorry, I was using XDA app so I couldn't press thanks buttons.
Thank you again!
My Tab already back to normal, Thanks :good:
Dear all, i cut the crap:
I did brick my samsung tablet 8.9"
Before I already had manage to upgrade my tab into ICS base on: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1893456 with "
[ROM][ICS][OFFICIAL][P7300] P7300ZSLP7 stock+rooted+voice calls" and upgrade the kernel into 1.8.2 based on A1
But some reason now i can't restart the tablet, I did manage to reinstall the CWM v5.xxx from ODIN because before i accidently installed the CWM with touch screen support (don't ask, my stupid mistake because downloading the CWM for the tab 2 for my father and installed it).
Now, my tab only showing samsung logo, but still capable to go to CWM v5.xx and recovery mode.
I did want to ask, is that possible to install CWM v6.xx based on kallt ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21194554&postcount=2 ) from ODIN? I did tried download the zip but the ODIN only recognized tar files, so i tried two ways: extract and repackaged it (failed) and trying to converse it (also failed).
Anyone can tutor me how to install CWM based on kallt from ODIN? Maybe after that, my proble solve.. Thanx
You're not hard bricked, if you were you couldn't get the logo. I'm assuming you can get into down load mode and Odin recognizes the tab. Flash the stock Rom with Odin. You can find the Rom at sammobile.com

im having some trouble installing a new OS on my gt-p7500 after wiping everyting. i have TWRP installed but im trying to find a way to push my new rom onto it. when i connect it to my windows 7 based laptop it says that the drivers where not installed. ive installed samsung drivers several times but it keeps saying the same damn thing :/ odin recognizes the device but kies cant connect... any ideas?
You could try flashing the rom anyway. Kies is to install drivers only, if heimdall see the tab, you should be fine. If not, google gt 7500 drivers, should lead to samsung web site to find the drivers for your laptop. Install, and you are good to go.

okay, so now i did all that and apparently heimdall sees the device, now it tells me to locate heimdall firmware package...? is this not the same ROM file as in ODIN?

It could be the same. But, heimdall has more options. A heimdall package i have not used. Normally a rom is in a zip or tar format. Unzip the rom. Open heimdall front end. I have heimdall 1.1. Then put the cache/recovery/param files in the corresponding places. Their is 5 or 6 if i remember right. Then flash. Just do some research first to make sure of everything.

Hello everyone,
I tried installing my devices firmware from the samobile site, after having it boot loop. I got it into download mode, connected it to my pc running odin, and tried flashing the firmware. It got as far as loading the recovery, then tried the rest but failed in the end, saying flash write failed or something like that. Would a custom firmware work better? It seems there are tools for other versions of the s3 mini, but not mine, so I'm not sure of the next step.
Thanks in advance,
Nick
You could try using kies to flash the firmware and there is safestrap(twrp) available for the g730v. If kies doesn't work make sure you are following the steps to flash the odin firmware correctly.

I believe I followed the directions correctly for odin, and the kies software should have worked since my phone had an error message that it couldn't see the phone. I tried installing twrp, didn't take. I tried finding the correct safestrap file, but the only one close was for the s3 and the person said it was too big for their screen.
I appreciate your help, and any more would be much appreciated.

Maybe you downloaded some bad firmware, where did you get your odin package from?
I would recommend downloading this for odin.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=817550096634742565
also here is a link to safestrap for when you unbrick your phone.

So the different firmware didn't work. I went so far as to uninstall kies software, used odin 3.07, 3.09, and the latest one with my the same issue. I even used a different cord. I guess the next step is to hook up my phone to my computer using ADB and see if it's stuck in write only mode.
